**WARNING** Monitor Your Purchas History!!! I give this…read morewarning, but even if your purchase history is not correct, they won't fix it unless you report to their customer service desk with information from their website and stand in front of them. I recently purchased a firearm from the Colorado Springs Scheels. While waiting for the Colorado Democrat's "cool down" period to pass, I decided I would register for a Scheels online account to track my purchases. After creating an account, I noticed it actually had all my purchase history, likely from using the same email for digital receipts on previous purchases. While looking at my purchase history, I noticed the firearm I purchased, but then noticed a second firearm purchased 1 minute later... Yet, I only purchased one firearm. The website shows receipts for all the purchases. The receipt for the firearm I purchased shows "Customer: Default Scheels" in place of my name. Yet the receipt for the firearm I DID NOT PURCHASE shows "Customer: James Parker" and shows it being purchased using two separate cards (a VISA and a MasterCard) - and using my name on the receipt. Additionally, I confirmed they offer a 5% discount for miliary veterans. I showed my veteran ID and then paid the total. Looking at my receipt, the veteran discount was not applied to my purchase... Yet, when I look at "my" other receipt, for the firearm I DID NOT PURCHASE, it shows Scheels applied the veteran discount to this mysterious second firearm sale using my name and account information and then applying a "Tax Exempt" ID number that I have never seen once in my life. I am not sure if who's information they used for the background check, they say I don't need a new background check to purchase another weapon as long as it's within 30 days... If this is malicious, it would make sense this next sale happened one minute later before a legitimate customer came to the counter. I'm not sure who they will be handing this other, paid for, firearm to - I just hope and pray it's not someone with bad intentions. When I called the store and asked to speak to a manager, I was transferred to Kevin. Kevin says this is beyond anything he can handle and that he would require me to return to the store in person to provide them with proof and documentation. After explaining to Kevin that all my documentation is from THEIR website, he still insisted I will have to bring the documentation from their website to their store for them to address in person. I used to think firearms sales transactions require strict record accuracy... until I purchased a firearm at Scheels. But at a minimum, customers should be able to trust that their information is protected and handled appropriately -- especially when it involves firearm transactions. I would highly recommend purchasing your firearms from a ligament firearms dealer before trusting a retail zombie like Scheels for your firearms purchase.

I'm so frustrated and disappointed in this store. I don't shop sporting goods stores very often…read moreand when I do it is most often Dick's Sporting Goods in Lone Tree Colorado. That's where I went today to purchase a birthday gift for my wife and it will probably be the last time I shop with them after today. Today was at least the 3rd time that I've purchased an item that was marketed at a significant discount but was rang up at full price. The first two times, I thought it might be simply errors in merchandising and signage. To be clear, I purchased two different sizes of a jacket off of a circular rack that held at least 6 more of the same style and color jackets. The signage on the top of the entire rack clearly said "40% off." I left the store, checked my receipt on the way to the car and returned inside to point out the discrepancy. The sales associate (different from the one that had checked me out) responded by saying "Honestly, these weren't the items on sale." She didn't bother to walk back to the rack to check the signage. She didn't apologize for the conflicting messages. She didn't call a manager to try making the customer happy. I do realize that it is not the sales associate's fault for deceptive signage so I wasn't rude or angry with her. I did keep my purchases (with the intent to return one when I figure out which size is the correct one for the recipient). But, I also did say that this was not the first time I had encountered this "clever but deceptive marketing in this store." And, I'm really tired of Dick's Sporting Goods in Lone Tree, Colorado playing their pricing games. I did double check online after leaving the store. Online the jackets I purchased are still listed at full price so I think I paid the correct price. However, management should verify and keep signage related to pricing current and accurate; and they should also correctly merchandise their stores. The fact that I have encountered this issue at this same store several times should give one pause before shopping here. I also realize that deceptive advertising is not legal and that I could also report this to the Better Business Bureau. I've considered that but decided to just take my business elsewhere.

As a guide in Colorado I'm the one who pushes products for these companies. If a person books a trip with my shop the customer wants to know what setup I'm using. I've had 4 and I'll say that again 4 orvis Clearwater rods break within 2 months of purchasing them. I bought a 10ft 3wt rod on 2/25 went and took it out to use it for its very first time on Sunday 2/29 and guess what snapped on my first fish. I bought the rod on the professional program that orvis offered it's still the same exact rod that you get from their website nothing different I took it into the store to try and get it replaced/refunded and guess what they told me I had to go to their online store to "request a replacement piece" or send it in for evaluation a 4-6 week turnaround if I thought it was a manufacturer defect and if they don't deem it was a manufactured defect they get to charge me $60 just to replace the section. to add a note as well if I were to request a replacement rod section it was $60 so for a rod to snap on my very first fish I caught. As a pro guide I will never and I mean never push any orvis products from here on out they claim to have one of the best customer service in the market and it sure didn't show. As a recommendation I only guide with TFO rods have had them for nearly 3 years and not a single one has broke with over 300 days used on each one! Hope this review will help someone!
