I decided to switch over our propane company, talked with Jaime in the office and the next week Dan came out. Moved our old tank and pumped out the propane left in it to the brand new tank. The drivers do not seem to know how to read street signs and routinely violate a no trespassing sign on mu property even though it is not a general utility easement. It is also posted, no vehicles over 10000 pounds, yet they violate that as well causing damage to the road, drainage, and owner side water lines. When I called to complain, they kept disconnecting me apparently because I was not a current customer, nor interested in becoming one. Horrible company now that Ferrell Gas has taken over. The best thing I can say about this service is that those answering the calls for them are friendly. I called on a Thursday , requesting delivery because someone left the jacuzzi on and my propane was between 5 and 10%. Heard nothing the following day or all week end(which I didn't really expect) . I called again bright and early Monday, the representative telling me she needed to hear back form the scheduler and would call me soon. At 4:45, I still had heard nothing, made another call, spoke to yet another rep and was told that the scheduler had neither posted or responded to the calls they had put in. I realize that it was our fault we ran out, but this is our source for heat, cooking, clothes drying etc. We've been at about 8% for days and no one has the courtesy to even respond to the customer service calls??? Seriously bad form. It would have been nice if I was even allowed to put in for an "emergency" fill but , no one would even answer the cust reps. inquiries. I feel sorry for them because they have to deal with the public. The scheduler either needs help or maybe another job. read more

They take at least 2 weeks to make a propane delivery They never answer the phone unless I say that i want to become a new customer To order propane you have to do it on there automated System. And they never disclose the price of propane per gallon delivered. I called 2 weeks ago and took me more than 15 minutes to get a human voice. I was quoted $4.11 per gallon And mentioned we take 2 weeks to deliver that route once I told them my location here in valley center About six miles from there yard I called there competitors I was quoted 2.39 per gallon Delivered . They sent a technician from 30+ miles away and he was here 2 days after I called The following day they installed there tank I notified valley center propane there services and tank were no longer needed. And it's going to take almost a month to come get there tank away from my house . I believe in supporting my local community But a 400.00 dollar savings on 200 gallon tank is a lot For senior citizen like me . By the way they will try to apply a penalty fee if you run out of propane or if you do not use enough propane I hope someone reads this from there stock holders and they do something to improve and provide better service along with competitive prices. read more

I consider myself a reasonable person and this is The first 1 star review I have left. In short our tank went to zero, which i acknowledge was my error, fill it at 30%, lesson learned... however when i called to get my tank filled, under this circumstance, they simply stated they had no availability and did not know when availability will open up, even with emergency fill fee. So I tried to get another company to fill my tank and they were available same day but they needed written permission from ferral gas to fill it up. So when I called to get written permission they stated under no circumstance will they provide Written permission to another company to fill my tank up. I explained that christmas was a week away, they don't have anyone to fill it now, i have a 2 year old thats telling me how cold she is and my family flying is flying in from Chicago and again you're company has noone to help me, and their response verbatim was "i put myself in this situation". I was a bit shocked and asked her again "so you're telling me you can't guarantee my tank will be filled by Christmas in a week but what you can guarantee me is that you will not allow any other company to fill my tank no matter how long it takes, and they said Yes that's correct. read more

I just have to vent about Valley Center Propane...I have recommended them for years ...never had a problem and now I just had a problem and was told that I was lying about when I called and what I asked for...I was told that by the secretary 4-5 times that she talked to me personally....then after getting very angry with her she finally admitted she was wrong....AFTER SHE FINALLY LOOKED AT CALL SLIP....DON'T USE VALLEY CENTER PROPANE...That whole conversation was bull....I absolutely loath bad customer service...all of you know me I'm a kind person...but don't call me a lier... Now can you believe it a supervisor from Valley Center propane just called me and asked me what the problem was I explain to him the problem and he also tells me that I'm lying and that the secretary was talking to me yesterday because he was in the office and heard her talking to me...so again I'm lying... didn't ask me if I was talking to her... told me that I heard her talking to you..I was in the office...compounding issues... like I said people know me and I'm a kind person I have worked my whole life to become a person of ethics and morals and to be called the liar several times by the same company I'm done!!! DON'T USE VALLEY CENTER PROPANE!!!.... Why don't people understand word of mouth means more than anything...I wish I could take away my recommendation from just last week... Have had 2 separate and horrible experiences with Valley Center Propane. The secretary that works there is in my opinion, extremely rude and unhelpful. The 1st time, I had to order my gas 3 separate times. Finally when it did not arrive the day before Thanksgiving we called again, and were told nobody ordered it. So the desk lady charged us $75 for a "rush". This time, they showed up and left without giving me any gas. I called and the same desk lady said they tried very hard to get to the tank but it was too muddy. I explained they did not try, they came in and left without even speaking to me... there are 3 roads into the tank and the guy drove off before I could show him the other road. She argued with me that they did try to get to it and gave excuses. Each time they have had a week to several days to bring the gas. And every time they make excuses as to why they will not fulfill the promise they made. I dont recommend anyone use this company that wants to avoid a headache and RUDE customer service. And, I am out of propane. No heat, no hot water, cannot COOK and have no way to wash or dry clothes. This has been the case for a WEEK now. I should add, the meter is not working, so I have no way to tell that it is near empty. Thanks for the HORRIBLE experience in service Valley Center Propane. read more

I support my local community My house is 2.3 miles from from their yard And office where the delivery trucks are It takes an average of 2@ weeks to get a delivery I placed an order to fill tank. 14 days went by and called the office regarding status of my delivery The lady immediately replied I see that there was an attempt to deliver last Thursday but the driver Ran out of gas and it was late and quitting time for him anyway. I mentioned Thursday was 4 @ days ago This was a Tuesday when I called she said we will deliver next Tuesday . So I waited The driver showed to deliver and I happened to be there waiting for Him Driver said I am here to fill tank He said your tank is full and I asked who filled it He looked at his tablet or fancy phone with schedules he said I have no clue who filled it He offered to find out and I said not needed to know just wanted propane and he was very polite Too. I got the bill yesterday the bill says it's overdue pay immediately. The only overdue part is the tank rental Because I said if I run out of gas I will cancel the service . Could not express enough how I would never ever use this company again. After a year of reporting a leak to them they finally confirmed it was in fact leaking but refused to do anything about it. In fact I called multiple times a week for a month and was told only a manager could help me. However the manager never ever called me back. I switched to a new company that was responsive and helpful. I had to practically beg Valley Center Propane to come get their tank. The still never called me back and I only discovered that I was scheduled when I called them to check the status. This company is bad news! read more

Yikes, a company to avoid. Just got a bill for $200.01 for "non usage" even though we have paid $50 a year for the last 28 years. This bill does not include the $55 tank rental, it's for non usage since we rarely use propane but need it for a standby in case of power outages. What a rip read more

I called on a Wednesday to put the order for delivery, took my payment over the phone and told me the delivery would be there either Thursday or Friday!!!! I checked my talk Friday afternoon and my delivery never got there we only had 30% . Called the company they don't even answer the phone and when they finally answer told that my delivery was scheduled for two weeks after. I am very dissatisfied with this company. This is very disappointing....been a customer for years and never had a problem until now... shockingly the secretary had the nerve to say that the household had lied to her repeatedly and caused quite an angry customer..... I don't recommend this company to anyone for home residential service. There business model for taking care of their customers is SUBSTANDARD. From the day you place your order is 10 business days until delivery. If you need it delivered faster because your tanks are all most empty add extra $150 service charge to your order. Valley Propane tells Ferrell Propane how many gallons of propane to deliver to each home based on an estimation of the amount that is in your tanks on the day you placed your order. Ferrell Propane filled on of my tanks the other day 1st tank full and the 2nd tank 50%. I asked the guy from Ferrell Propane, "Why can't you finish filling my tank?" His response was "Because Valley Propane office order was for a little over 100 gallons. Buyers. Sorry sir. I don't recommend either of these companies. I asked Valley Propane, "Is it possible to have propane delivered to my home every 3 weeks. Valley Propane, "No you have to call us when your tanks are around 30% or have a device installed on your tanks for an additional charge $150 that will send Valley Propane a message when your tanks are 30%. Having propane delivered to your home should be stress free. All of your propane tanks should be filled during the delivery. Based on my experience, I don't recommend Valley Center Propane. read more

I don't have a specific complaint or kudos about the service from this company, but just wanted to say that Valley Center Propane is not really Valley Center Propane anymore. It was bought by Ferrell Gas a while ago. I think they maintain a local office for appearances' sake, but they are not the local company they used to be. read more

I have been with Valley Center propane for a year now has been nothing but a terrible experience since I've moved to Valley Center I tried to use a local company and it's been nothing but problems when I first moved in to my house the owner wanted the tank pumped so they immediately came within 3 days to pump that tank so they could give the old owner their money back I then had my tank filled at a new customer rate which was fine but then when it came time for a refill I had asked for a minimum which they told me was $150 they came and filled the tank I also asked the lady in the office to please have the driver, knock on my door when he gets there and they didn't so then I was stuck with a bill for $1,200 at a high rate per gallon after I had just asked for the minimum they said they would come out and pump it this was in November of 2016 it is now June 2017 and they still have not come to pump the tank the lady in the office keeps saying they need a special truck for this and they are very busy due to the Rain what rain we are in a drought now the rain stopped a long time ago she says dan the manager is extremely busy so I switched to another Local Company and ask them to come and pick up their tank they pumped the remainder gas I left in there said I had 46% only when I took pictures showing I had almost 55% and when I first called in to have them pick it up the girl in the office the same girl all the time said that me and my husband would have to put it somewhere where they can access it that we had to move it I laughed and said that the new company I went with moved it to the front for them but why should we have to move it it's there propane tank and they put it there they just have really terrible customer service I do not recommend them I heard that they got new owners and everything has gone downhill for them as far as all the other Yelp reviews it looks like I'm not the only unsatisfied customer do not use Valley Center propane read more
