I also like that they update the menu from time to time, so there's usually something new to try while still keeping plenty of reliable favorites. We like the burgers but something a bit more unique that they offer are Tavern Bowls. If you're looking for a place to watch a game, this is one of the go-to spots in the area. There are TVs throughout the restaurant, making it easy to catch whatever sporting event is on. It's also very family-friendly (until later at night), which makes it a great option whether you're meeting friends or bringing the kids. Service has been consistently good on my visits, and the staff does a great job even when it's busy. Overall, it's a fun atmosphere with good food, great specials, and dependable service. The Worst beef stroganoff EVER!!!!…read more Been craving beef stroganoff for months. Finally found a place that serves it. Took us a while to get service. We ordered drinks and the food at the same time. The waiter walked away within five minutes the food was plopped on our table. The beef stroganoff was literally in a cereal / soup bowl that you would have from home. You know that one bowl that has no other matching set to it. It's the only one that's lasted in the cabinet all those years with the chip. It had no presentation no garnish just a plop of porridge in it that just looked horrible. For $25 I was expecting just a little bit more I went with my sister and we were just to hungry at the time so we tried the food and it didn't even taste good. Maybe it was the sour cream that had gone sour is what it tasted like. The meat was kind of sporadically through the stroganoff I got a lot of large pieces of seared tough meat. The kind of beef that been over cooked too long in a pan and it kind of sticks to the pan. No soft moist meat at all. It didn't have any of the flavors of stroganoff It had the weirdest taste. I didn't taste mushroom. I didn't taste sour cream, it kinda had a taste of a hollandaise sauce, tasted kind of lemony. Honestly, I should've sent it back for $25 for that slop of porridge. I couldn't get a waiter back over to us. I had a hunt down salted pepper just kind of spice it up a little bit. It was utterly disgusting I've had good German food and this isn't the place They had a nice courtyard. A guy was playing some polka music, then switched over to Americanized music. It was just a very, very bad experience The food was completely disgusting

We continue to be impressed by both the quality and creativity of their food. On this visit, I ordered The Pilgrim, which is essentially Thanksgiving dinner wrapped inside a pasty. It features turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and gravy. It arrived absolutely piping hot--seriously, give it a few minutes before taking that first bite--but once it cooled down, it was phenomenal. The combination of flavors was comforting and satisfying, and a little cranberry sauce with each bite provided the perfect balance. My only minor critique would be that the ingredients could have been distributed a bit more evenly throughout the pasty. I also found the gravy slightly more peppery than expected, occasionally overshadowing the stuffing, sweet potatoes, and turkey. Even so, this has become my favorite pasty at Cornish Pasty Co. We also tried the Peppered Steak pasty, which features sirloin, portobello mushrooms, leeks, zucchini, Stilton bleu cheese, and a peppercorn brandy cream sauce. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, especially the steak and the wonderfully flaky crust. For my personal taste, the peppercorn brandy cream sauce was a little more prominent than I prefer, and I found myself wanting more of the steak, mushroom, and Stilton flavors to come through. That's simply a matter of preference, though--it was still a well-executed dish made with quality ingredients. One thing Cornish Pasty Co. consistently gets right is the crust. Every pasty we've had has been flaky, flavorful, and substantial without feeling heavy. This wasn't our first experience with their menu. Over the years we've thoroughly enjoyed the Tikka Masala, the Lamb & Mint (which was a genuine "wow" dish), and the Royale. Those are all excellent choices, but after this visit, The Pilgrim has moved to the top of my personal rankings. Our two pasties came in under $20 each, making for a filling and satisfying meal at a reasonable price. We ordered takeout, and while there was a bit of a wait after we arrived, it's worth noting that these are made-to-order pasties, not fast food. Even though we only ordered a few minutes before arriving, the quality was well worth the extra time. My biggest criticism has nothing to do with the food. While waiting, my wife and I sat inside briefly, and we found the music extremely loud. During our visit, the restaurant was playing Silth, a progressive metalcore band. Musical tastes are obviously subjective, but the combination of the style and volume made conversation difficult for us. My wife eventually decided to wait in the car because it was simply too loud. The restaurant clearly aims for a lively pub atmosphere, with games available and a diverse mix of patrons enjoying themselves, so many people may appreciate that environment. It just wasn't a great fit for us. That said, the food is outstanding, the portions are generous, and we'll absolutely be back. We'll probably continue ordering takeout, but that's a reflection of our personal preferences rather than any issue with the restaurant itself. If you're looking for creative, well-made pasties with high-quality ingredients, Cornish Pasty Co. is definitely worth a visit.

It's dark, casual, and easy to hear everyone which was a nice change from some of the other places I'd been to that week. I had to panic order, and ended up with the Chicken Greek. Regardless of it being the backup choice, it was still pretty good. I could see wanting takeout from here many more times if I lived closer. The drink menu was very interesting - I had the Oaxacan Pineapple and asked if it could be made spicy, and it was probably the best drink I'd had all week. Service was great and parking was easy. I was impressed and would recommend it to anyone that wants a good meal.

Dive bar it is, though I like "Watering Hole" myself. So I'm at this local watering hole 'Bridgette's', and the bartender (not named Bridgette), though I can't remember her name because the echoing sounds of a familiar song from Halsey coming from the Plus sized lungs of the third-runner-up-Miss-Missouri was bouncing it's location repeatedly off each wall's piece of artwork and retired license plate frames like it was lost and looking for directions... asked me for a drink order and if I wanted a menu.. I defaulted to my shot, beer and a cheeseburger to which she immediately asked me specifics. Medium, cheddar, on the side and ranch please! This chick was on it ;) I quietly sang along to Halsey because naturally at my age I know the words but wouldn't be caught dead singing it... I would only karaoke Notorious lol. The other bartender female was laughing a little with the few ppl next to me. I notice they have pull tabs machine. Who has that!? Love it. The menu is extensive, not to be confused with expensive. Two Dart machines in the back (yes!) I never understood why THAT wasn't an Olympic sport?! (Yes I do, but I'm good at it, so that's all I got). Food came out quick, shot number two is about to be ordered while I tried to figure out who the heck (and where) the dude was hiding that was singing the next song.. because I'd hide too! I love people watching. FYI: burger was amazing for only 12$. Couldn't finish it (that's indicative of me, it's not ginormous, but good size) and since then I've been back several weekends. Note: their specials are only online, they have good ones but they don't tell you about them so check them out. They have trivia too. This is a nice little diamond in the rough for the area. Casual, you could say "Dive" if you're on the East side, you could say "Nice" if you're on the West side... not a meat-market for girls, people just don't behave that way so far.. but not a sausage fest either. Just seems people want to have a nice time... I'll reiterate so far ;) And super busy on weekends!! Oh! Not snobby at last call. That's important. My group came here maybe a month or so ago and it was a great time with a super cool host- Sarah or something like that- and she kept the vibe awesome and was just a cool chick (and that has nothing to do with me thinking she was kinda cute, too, I swear! LOL) Sadly, we came back and the vibe was just NOT the same without her- the staff there said they thought it was she had been out for personal reasons, but thought she'd be back, so that's cool, if true (her coming back NOT her having a rough go or whatever!). Anyway, we were just bummed that the experience wasn't consistent with the fun we had last time with the other host... We'll check back, no big. As for the bar itself? Well, it's a local dive bar that's been around forever and pretty much wears it on it's sleeve! While it could use a serious remodel to update a bit and lose some of the ick, would that ruin the ambiance of "dive bar"? Oh well, we're all still coming back, even after our first trip here many years ago thinking it was a girlie gay biker bar between the name and the location! Hahahaha!!!
