Our experience with trying to build a custom closet for our high rise condo in SF actually started off bad because we talked to Closet Factory first. BIG MISTAKE. They were very predatory, literally double the price of what Larry quoted us afterwards and they refused to give our deposit back even when they weren't transparent about the date they can build it. Luckily, we talked to Larry and he told us all the wrong things Closet Factory quoted and was trying to build. Looking to reduce the cluttered look in our one car garage, we contacted a couple of vendors to install cabinets. We chose Valet Custom Cabinet. Lavanya Selvaraj came out to do our initial consult. Our job was pretty straightforward but with her guidance we have made the most out of the small space. Lavanya listened to what we wanted and incorporated our ideas into the plan. Updating my review for Valet: Again, Cynthia is a great designer that takes into account what you want and also takes into account what you have to create the closet. I have so much more space in my closet than I did before. 5 stars for Cynthia. While I did have some mishaps, Valet went out of their way and replaced shelves that had dings on them (Twice). I believe this is just the quality of the material I chose. Any damage on white is very obvious. Once the clothes are in, you can't really tell but if you are someone who pays attention to detail, I would recommend choosing a different material other than white. Somehow I missed Valet in my initial searches of custom cabinetry on Yelp Selecting Valet Custom Cabinets was one of the best decisions I have made during my home remodeling process. My journey to finding the best match helped me to fully appreciate this business. And we all know those "custom closet companies" - and none of the ones I interviewed came even close to matching the quality of service and materials of Valet. As an added insult, many of these "other" companies' prices were in the stratsphere. Here are some outstanding aspects of this business: Customer service - Impeccable ! I initially reached out to the Danville Store and received an immediate call back to make an appointment. The store is beautifully appointed to showcase their diverse array of products and materials. The real star of this business is their lead designer - Cynthia Padden. She is not only warm and gracious, but designer extraordinaire with great vision, an acute eye for detail, creative, and a good listener. She stayed very mindful of my budget and offered me options that I had not even considered. It enabled me to keep the project affordable and incorporate my home office needs and size requirements. Their high level of customer support doesn't stop at sales, but carries through to the end of installation. They met their production timeline (even a week earlier), provided ongoing updates, and arrived withn the window of time promised. Another aspect of their quality-control measures included a same day visit from Cynthia to ensure the project was completed to satisfication. She also spent additional time reconnecting multiple cords (from the various office machines) which had to be unplugged to set-up the cabinents. It was also further evidence of Cynthia's attention to detail. Product and Installation: Cynthia's design was further elevated by the choice of materials used for the cabinents, countertop, and hardware. In a word, beautiful ! The installation went very smoothly and was completed in less time than estimated. The crew was excellent and worked very efficiently. As a final point to make, there were any number of things that could have gone wrong. In this case, Valet Custom Cabinetry delivered flawless service. My wife and I purchased from Valet Custom Cabinets & Closets in 2003 ( 20 years ago ) a wall bed of extreme good quality. Not all the sales personnel was very helpful, but also the product came with a 20 Year warranty. In 2008 an adjustment was needed, and promptly the service department took care of the service call. Now and after a long use of the bed by the grandkids, the hinges on the holding board at the feet of the bed came apart. A quick call to Crystal at the Danville store and subsequent service call setup by Brian, the hinges will be replaced for free of charge. I assure anyone that on this industry no one has a 20 year warranty and a superb customer service. After extensive searching on Houzz, I selected Valet Custom Cabinets to build custom closets for the primary bedroom closet as well as two other bedrooms in our newly constructed home. Before I moved into my new condo, I quickly realized that storage space was lacking in both my kitchen and bathrooms. I decided to explore having custom built-ins added to my home, and Valet was an easy choice after first reading their Yelp reviews and then meeting with Larry and Lavanya, the designer, in person for a discovery meeting. Afterward, they both visited my home to evaluate the space before the design work began, and I was impressed by their thoughtful recommendations of what would work best in my space, both functionality and design-wise. Once the designs were approved, the construction itself was a very pleasant process. Marcial, Francisco, and Steven are meticulous, detail-oriented, and communicative workers. Upon project completion I was immensely pleased with the result -- one new cabinet in each of my bathrooms, designed to fit and blend into the space perfectly. I also had a very useful shoe cubby tower installed in my walk-in closet in a previously unused portion of the area. The real showstopper is the expansive, highly customized built-in that was installed along an empty wall in my kitchen. I have separate sections for utilities/storage and pantry items, in addition to a cutout for my toaster since I didn't have adequate space for it on the counter. The glossy white material beautifully reflects the view outside, and it blends in so perfectly with the rest of my kitchen. From start to finish, I give the Valet team 5 stars!
