If heaven were a garage, it would be ours! Thanks to custom garages for helping to make it so! We had a minor change originally planned for our dingy, dark and very unorganized hodgepodge garage, I mean, who cares about a garage right?? (Well, we do.. now!) It all started with replacing the 12 year old water heater.. then we thought, well, let's go tankless, going tankless meant we had to put electrical hookup outside and while we were at it, why not have some garage lights put in? (we always hated that single bulb for a two car garage that faces north!) Oh! And let's add a couple outlets. Then all of a sudden we realized in the chaos of our garage, where would we put them? And when we can see the mess and horribly stained concrete floor (with the new lights), well, let's do the floors. That's when we found organization heaven (I mean, custom garages). We came across them looking up epoxy floors, I was completely tempted looking at all their Yelp clients with these gorgeously clean garages showing only smooth cabinets, slat walls and NOTHING on those amazing floors (I mean, this is HGTV drool!!). All of a sudden we were renting a pod and demoing wire shelves. The owner and staff of custom garages were wonderful to work with, they gave us ideas for designs, suggestions on where to place the chaos and worked with what was needed for our life and stuff. We ended up modifying their design a bit to incorporate a small workspace, and one of those neat "Costco storage" bookshelf things where you can reach in to grab surplus paper towels. It turned out AHH-MAZING! Needless to say, I'm a big fan and now hang out in our garage on the regular. My kids and I sit on the floors of this garage and do projects, my workouts are surrounded by cabinet serenity and all is well. I had no idea a garage could be so transformative but even a trip to the beach became a delight when I knew right where everything was from the beach chairs, luggage and sand buckets! Thanks Gary, Carrie, James and the whole team at custom garages! Helpful tips: Bins: we had every size and shape bin imaginable before. But when I took measurements of our new cabinets I went on the hunt for a bin that would fit the new cabinets well enough that would utilize the most space on the inside - with two depths of cabinets to work with (yikes!) - 24" depth and 17" depth. We had 2 missing shelves Custom garages mentioned they would have to come back by to fix these, they said next week but it ended up a couple weeks - we didn't mind and they are a small company, they have jobs in different areas and they aren't always near each other. Either way, they really took care of everything and they delay gave us time to figure out what extra shelves we needed and they helped put in some hardware that hadn't arrived before the install. I'd have to say that we are more than disappointed, irritated and disgusted with our dealings here. Let me start with- that we think this could be a great company, but our experience was far from that. We met with Gary the owner back in 2018, let him know what we were looking for, he designed our garage cabinets. We went back and forth as for some reason he just couldn't understand that we had a fridge and separate freezer coming in and thus, kept designing cabinets in their place. He was rushed and had to take a phone call from his wife and left. We thought it to be odd and tried working with him to get the drawings correct. So, we finally just gave up. We decided to give him a second chance once we had the freezer in place in Jan 2019, where again he was interrupted with a phone call from his wife. He encouraged us to use him with the new features that he had with the new year. So we decided to give it a go, of course while he was still on the phone with his wife, urgent as always, he ran off. That was twice now that he was interrupted by his wife during business and twice that he disappeared. My partner turned around to see Gary took off. As soon as he got our credit card, he was gone. His quotes fo not have dates on them, so trying to piece together what goes with what is nearly impossible. The biggest issue here is that we didn't get what we were promised and were subjected to threats, harassment and slanderous activities. Our garage was left in disgusting and dirty shape. Mind you, we have a brand new house, clean garage, yet it was full of saw dust from top to bottom including my car. WOW, what a nightmare. Dealing with him and his office was horrible. The only time that anyone will get back to you is if they want payment. We have texts with items promised and ill willed/mean degrading messages. Please beware as from our experience they are not professional, nor are they ethical. Now, months later, we both are getting harassed by Gary with calls and texts. Wow! He needs to go away and leave us alone. read more

I received quotes from at least 4 different companies but I was very impressed with the work quality and overall dealing experience with Custom garages. Gary was very informative and printed a clean design, gave some really good advice and made sure we maximize the usable space. I had Gary's team do cabinets and epoxy in my garage. I liked his cabinets were manufactured in house and had a high weight rating and depth. His price was far better than others. The quote process was smooth. Gary came in, did the quote and design while I was there. He also shared the design (others would not do this). His timeline for install was better. epoxy install was great! no complaints there. Just note that it is not the thick epoxy, but it has held up well so far to hot tires etc. Why not 5 stars? - some of the cabinet pieces were damaged. They still installed them and only replaced them when I complained. - Cabinet doors were dirty with thick residue. They only cleaned them when I complained. - my order included overhead storage, it was never installed. They said there were delays from China, but they never came to install them after (note: I didn't have to pay for them). How have they held up? So far it has been good. The edges on the shelf are going to peel off I fear. Overall, the guys that came to install fixed everything I pointed out. It took multiple trips, but they addressed everything. Wow, what can I say! This company is excellent in so many ways. I received quotes from several companies for our garage re-do (cabinets, epoxy floor, slatwall) prior to meeting with Greg for the initial consultation and Custom Garages was the most reasonably priced. Greg even produced a 3D draft along with a pricing sheet immediately from the trunk of his car! I was quite impressed and appreciated that pricing for other cabinet sizes and products were listed on the pricing sheet so you can see what the price variation would be if you decided to make any modifications without calling them multiple times. Greg was very professional, personable, had good follow-up and offered good suggestions. He was also very responsive to my texts after the meeting and my requested modifications. Carrie at the office was also very responsive to all my emails and was clear on communication in regards to appointments, what time the crew would show up, the credit card transactions, etc. I made a few changes and she sent me updated pricing and an updated 3D draft the same day. I had some issues with the cabinets after installation that the crew fixed it quickly. Every person from the team I encountered were professional, friendly, efficient and left behind clean work. I had a new floor put in my shop The old one was bare cement and oil stained from use. It was also cracked badly they filled in all the cracks, and sealed the floor before putting the new floor in.
