For the past few months the facility seems to have taken a turn towards full mediocrity. At any time there are numerous gas pumps disabled. It's really a throw of the dice if the pump you pull up to will actually work. This morning a system error prevented customers from using credit or debit cards. Though the clerks inside knew this they forced customers at the pumps to walk into the store for an explanation. Very poor customer care here. They should have posted someone outside or at a minimum placed notices on the gasoline pumps! The car wash is closed more days than it is open or so it appears. Maybe it's only down on days I want to use it but it is not operating quite a bit of the time. This is a prime location and it's hard to believe the owners of this gas and food store allow the business to fall into such disarray. read more

Please save yourself some money and frustration and DONT go to this place. Yeah it's convenient and yeah it may be affordable BUT don't do it. I took my car through the wash and when I got home there were so many dirty spots! - by the trunk, the hood and along both sides of my car. I opted for their best option, which is about $12 I believe, and I was disappointed. You can pay $14 or $16 elsewhere where people will actually hand dry it. OH, and the soap wasn't even soapy, like at all! read more

This less than of a gas station has to be the worst gas station experience I have ever had. How does one have a lack luster experience at a gas station? After going inside, the mini mart was cluttered, and no employees to be found. I would have swiped my card at the pump, but I was paying cash. After a few minutes of standing around I say hello? About a minute later this guy in plain clothes walks in from outside. I asked him if he worked there. He aggressively replied, "I was waiting for you, but you took too long." I told him what I thought about him and left. He walked out the door to finish emptying a garbage can. Sorry to inconvenience you buddy. Not getting gas there ever again. read more

What happened to my favorite snack stop and gas station? I stop into this place a little too often for a snack and at least once a week for gas. The employees were nice, thus had a good selection and all the gas pumps which are numerous worked. Not any more. 1/2 of the pumps are out of order and the last time I tried to get gas, the pump stopped and displayed a message saying the pump was closed for service. I went inside to ask what was going on. Talking to the staff was like taking to a small child - they had no idea what was going on and were shouting back and forth. And then there is the worst part - their snack selection has dwindled and the prices have gone up. Other go-to items have also changed. Thanks 7-11 for ruining this place. Ok... so I have been a patron of this gas station and its car wash for about 5 years, going once a month or so with no issue. Then one day I stop in and the wash breaks the rear windshield wiper blade mechanism on my wagon, I actually felt it push the back of my car down! The woman I was directed to for assistance (manager?) was very friendly and helpful, asking me to fill out a form to send to corporate and took a photo as well. I hope they don't try to get around not fixing it!! It is standard equipment on my vehicle (not lifted etc, just a wagon), we shall see! read more

I used to get gas here all the time--and then the prices shot up, and this place started being priced more than the Valero on Lighthouse in Monterey, which used to be more convenient. (If you're near Lighthouse and need gas, go to the Circle K on Hawthorne and David). Ennyhoo, the best thing about this place is the carwashes. Get a dollar off with a fill-up, and go for the most expensive option. Why? Because that way your car gets coated with Rain-X (or something just like it), which makes all the difference on your windows, and also coats your paint, protecting the metal from rusting around whatever teeny dings you have on your car (and if you ever park your car in a parking lot, those dings are there). They have a better-than-average selection of comestibles inside, no doubt due in large part to the real-live Subway inside. But the service is meh. read more

Just went thru car wash. Since new 7-11 owners, basic wash has no soap cycle. Car not so clean. In checking with employee Michelle, seems it has changed to a rinse only. Big disappointment, but thanks to Michelle and her keen sense of customer service, she put us through again. Good work, Michelle! We'll be back because of you. read more

The station itself is easy to get in/out of. The parking lot for the shopping center, however, can be a pain when traffic is heavy. Prices are comparable to the immediate area. Has a convenient car wash (though I didn't try it). read more

Right off the highway, next to Border's Books (think they are going out of business as of March 2011), Pet Smart (or PetCo -- can never remember that), Marshalls, and is OSH in the next parking lot over? Besides the dork who decided to sit at a pump and eat his whole lunch? (which is not Valero's fault) -- this was fine. CLEAN WATER to wash my very dirty windshields having come from Oregon a few days prior. They are pretty fine with me for that alone. read more

I once got a super great deal on gas here, when it was marked wrong. About 4 years ago instead of the 2.50 price it was 1.50 for the medium grade at the pump it you bought it at the pump. Anyway that is besides the point. They are always nice, good car wash not a bad price if you fill up on gas, as mentioned they do have a subway inside the store, plus a good selection of anything else. Busy place. The line at the car wash is always long day or night. Knocked a star because the manhole cover is loose in the middle of the gas pumps and every time anyone drives over it I fear their tire will get stuck in the hole. Safety hazard. read more

The prices for gas are average. There are cheaper and more expensive gas stations on Seaside. This is an "everything" Valero station, with a Subway inside and a car wash. The car wash gets backed up pretty frequently so be prepared, but its a quality wash. The inside soda machine is loaded with options. I especially love the Pepsi because unlike their canned soda, this machine uses a bit more syrup so its very flavor-able. Nothing like a cold one on the rocks. read more

This is the closest gas station to my house, otherwise I'd never go here! Pumps seem to NEVER WORK - more often than not, I end up having to drive elsewhere. Car wash is always out of service. I don't feel like it can be that difficult to run a functioning gas station, since most other places seem to manage. read more

I just left this valero/alleged car wash in a huff! I waited 20 minutes in line to get my car washed and when I entered my code it was rejected. After about the 4th try, I pressed the "help" button aka the button to nowhere. I finally had to ask the two cars behind me to move so I could back out (again having waited in line for 20 minutes) and get my money refunded. The young man at the register was polite and I told him that I was very angry and frustrated, but not with him, and explained the circumstances. A woman came from behind the wall and told him she would take care of this. I also apologized and explained. She had an attitude and less than no customer service skills. She was rude and only made me more angry! I even used the word, "Hell," which is not my usual style. She should NOT be interacting with the public at all. She told me I was being rude (remember my apology and explanation?) and I told her not to worry as she won't ever have to deal with me again. Really, of course, meaning that I won't give her the opportunity of my business. I have bought gas there for years and it is convenient for me, but I will not allow myself to be treated that way.
