    Wedding Dress Valentina tailored
    Sierra P.

Valentina tailored my wedding dress and several of my bridesmaids dresses! She did an amazing job. Some of the dresses had very challenging necklines that we were trying to restructure and she made them look seamless and beautiful. As if they hadn't even been changed! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for tailoring but especially for high quality/difficult clothing such as wedding and bridesmaids dresses. The cherry on top was that she was very reasonably priced.

Timelines were accurate, the final product was exactly as we expected, and it was awesome value for money (for alterations on a suit jacket and a wedding dress) We had both scheduled two fittings and got our final alterations completed roughly 9 days before we tie the knot. I only took pictures for my suit jacket (wearing the complete ensemble minus tie and pocket square), but it's a fantastic example of their work - they modified the back and shoulders, as well as the jacket sleeve length so it's more fitted to my body type (this was already a 38 Short jacket measurement). They close at 6pm on weekdays, and we live in West Seattle, but on a recommendation from a friend, we chose this place after shopping around, and YES, it was totally worth it. On the way to our second fitting, we hit a TON of traffic on the I-90 and ended up being about 20 minutes late to our 5:30pm fitting - they STAYED OPEN until we arrived and made sure we were properly fitted before sending us back on our way. I'm very happy I chose this place, and I'm definitely coming back if I ever need anything critical altered.

Juhee's took an off the rack dress for my sister's wedding and made it look like a custom piece. In addition to taking it in and hemming the skirt, she added hooks on the back to keep my bra line securely hidden, and mesh on the front for better support and coverage. Worth every penny and I can't thank her enough!

Meeting her in person only confirmed it. She listened carefully to every single one of my needs and accommodated each one with such grace and care. My wedding dress is chiffon, and she created the most gorgeous custom bustle in the back that made it look beautifully layered and flowing. Beyond her extraordinary skill, she made me feel beautiful. She complimented me, lifted my spirits, and even took the time to teach me how to walk without tripping on my train. That kind of thoughtfulness goes so far beyond what any seamstress is required to do. After I picked up my perfectly hemmed, bustled, and altered dress, I had a small panic moment (actually, a major panic moment) when I realized the style looked slightly different than I remembered from when I originally ordered it from Anthropologie. I called Svetlana in a near meltdown, and without hesitation, she invited me to come in that very same day. Within 20 minutes, she had fixed everything flawlessly!! I was in disbelief!! Svetlana is a true miracle worker, and anyone who gets to work with her is incredibly, incredibly lucky. I will be forever grateful that she was a part of my wedding journey!!! Her advice saved me money and helped ensure my dress looks best for the big day, and I'm so grateful! I recommend coming to her if you need guidance on alterations needs! The crowded, less-than glamorous surroundings make trying on a suit difficult, as the "changing room" is nothing more than an unused nook with a curtain. Further, there's only one full-length mirror in a poorly lit area of the store to see the finished clothes in. The store itself deals with jeans and is sometimes a bit noisy. It's also worth noting that they don't accept credit cards (cash or check only). Service: Jerry is a great guy. Probably mid-seventies, with a warm, genuine nature about him. You can tell he wants to help make you look your best. He also offers a "satisfaction guarantee" -- he'll rework the clothes free of charge if you're not happy with what he's done. He was careful as he measured me, and took his time to try to make sure he knew what I wanted. I was there to get a pair of suit pants hemmed and the sleeves of a sport coat shortened. Price: This is where Jerry shines. What could have cost upwards of $50 at other shops cost $23 with "Bellevue tailors". He said he could have the work done in about five days. Result: Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. For all of Jerry's sweetness and good intentions, his work is less than stellar. Mind you, I'm a fashion aficionado, and I was trusting Jerry with $200 wool suit pants and a similarly expensive J Crew blazer. I was shocked (and a bit upset) when I picked up my jacket and found that it had been stored on a wire hanger. For those that don't know, hanging a blazer on a wire hanger can do real harm to the shoulders of the garment. Most tailors that routinely work with fine clothing would have proper suit hangers on which to store jackets. This (and other factors) gave me the impression that the majority of Jerry's clients were the people already in the store, getting their "Jeans Direct". To review the work itself: When you look at the bottom of the pants (from about a foot away) the stitches from the hem work are visible on the exterior. Since it's not SUPER noticeable (and because I needed the pants) I accepted that article of clothing without complaint. I also had problems with the shortening of my Blazer's sleeves -- this time unignorable. You see, Jerry had taken about 1/4-1/2 inch off the sleeves and moved the non-functioning cuff buttons appropriately, but he neglected to trim or shorten the LINING on the coat sleeves. This left extra fabric that would bunch up in the arm and prevent my shirt cuff from extending past my suit cuff. Basically, the error meant that my dress shirts wouldn't fall naturally when using this coat. To his credit, Jerry was happy to rework the jacket for free, but of course that cost extra time and another trip to his shop. Overall, I give Jerry 5 stars as a person, but only 2 as a tailor. If I need to get some Jeans or casual chinos hemmed, he's my man, but for suits or other finer pieces of clothing, I'll go elsewhere.

It's also one of the best places to go when you need a suit for Four Weddings and Funeral. Especially when they are last minute I went in there the other day as I needed a suit because my dad passed away unexpectedly and needed a suit for the funeral ( My previous suit no longer fit as I lost the battle of the Bulge due to the....Covid lock downs, yeah..let's go with that) I walked in looking like like I'd just lost a fight with a laundry basket. And let me tell you, it was a transformative experience. It was like stepping into a sartorial spa, but instead of cucumber slices, they offered me perfectly pressed suit jackets and shirts. The staff? Absolute legends. They didn't just sell clothes; they conducted a full-blown intervention. No joke My personal stylist, bless his soul, "Louie" (and another gentleman who's name i didnt get but deserves equal credit) looked at my current attire with the kind of pity usually reserved for stray kittens, then proceeded to dress me like I was about to negotiate a multi-million dollar deal...or at least attend a moderately fancy brunch. And the alterations? Forget magic; this was straight-up wizardry. They took a suit that fit me like a potato sack and turned it into something that made me look like I could actually parallel park on the first try. I swear, the tailor must have a secret stash of fairy dust and a laser measuring tape. The best part? The "You're gonna like the way you look" line. It's not just a slogan; it's a prophecy. I left feeling like a suave secret agent, ready to take on the world, or at least remember to put the toilet seat down. So, if you're like me, and your fashion sense is currently residing somewhere between "lost hiker" and "guy who wears socks with sandals," do yourself a favor. Go to Men's Wearhouse. They'll have you looking so good, you'll start accidentally winking at your own reflection. And honestly, who doesn't want that??
