Imagine shocking blue and pick ice cream with decadent toppings, crumbles and drizzles in a rolled…read morebubble waffle cone... Still imagining??? Why? When you can just walk into Munchies and experience it first hand! This place takes you on a pick-your-own(ice cream)-adventure. You pick from a choice of regular or seasonal flavored bubble waffle. Add your choice of fav ice cream to it. They have vanilla options like well.. Vanilla, chocolate, cookies and cream, strawberry and seasonal wonders like Black currant, mint chocolate, banana, shocking blue coconut , lemon sorbets and more. After that you get to add toppings like fruits, nuts, fudge, kit-kat and top it off with a drizzle. The toppings and drizzles cost extra. Just the ice cream and waffle cost about 50 DKK (~$7.5) and toppings are about 5 DKK ($ 0.75) each. You get to watch them make fresh bubble waffle in the back and the aroma of freshly made waffle is just delightful as you wait for it. Once the ice cream is served, you take the customary picture of course. But then you'd have to rush to finish it coz it's a race between you and the warm waffle melting your ice cream. I tried the regular waffle with double ice cream Salted Caramel and Banana. Both flavors were delightful but the waffle ice cream ended up being too heavy. It may be a good option to share though! If it's a particularly cold day, you can always get the hot chocolate. Taste wise the ice cream was much like any other that I've had. The look of the ice cream is very instagram worthy though. It will definitely spice up your insta feed. You can see people trying to take cool money shots with their ice creams outside the place. All in all it's a good place to visit if you're in the area. Don't forget to take a picture with the cookie monster!

The wait wasn't too long, and there were a few seats inside - but it was way too hot inside for anyone to eat inside. I got the seasonal strawberry fields ice cream in an original bubble waffle, for 50kr (a little over $8). My friend got the seasonal mighty mango ice cream in an original bubble waffle with strawberries for 55kr. The prices hurt my wallet real hard, but the ice cream wasn't too sweet which I love, and it almost tasted like the strawberry Haagen Dazs. The bubble was so soft and fluffy with just a hint of sweetness.

Best meal of our trip. Really enjoyed it. My wife booked Host because of its reviews and vegetarian…read moreoptions (for me). The restaurant's design is definitely minimalist with simple blank walls and a comfortable mix of fake and real plants. There was no air conditioning but they found a fan to keep us comfortable- we were amazed that more folks in the full restaurant weren't sweating the way we were. Perhaps the locals are more used to the summer heat with no AC than we were. We had the 3-course prefixe meal with my my wife and daughter on the standard menu while I was on the vegetarian track. The website says that Host is the Danish word for harvest, and that their focus is "on the Scandinavian kitchen with lots of surprises." The staff used the word "surprises" explicitly, using it to describe the amuse-bouches and palette-cleansing bites served between the advertised courses. We started with a flight of croquettes with cheese and I think my wife and daughter had something like a smoked fish hash of some sort while by I had a delightful bite of salad on a molded sweet cookie tart shell. The baby bread loaves with a special butter were lovely - how do you innovate butter? Great job. My first veggie entree was fried carrots with horseradish, which was grand. Next I had a barley risotto with amazing brown beech mushrooms on top. Awesome. There was a spot of potato soup in there somewhere and the best bite of the meal was another of the surprises - a pre-dessert mochi-like shell with strawberry powder on the outside and hazelnut ice cream (I think???) on the inside. The strawberry rhubarb dessert was excellent also. Such a great meal. Loved it.

We went to…read moreanother one of their restaurants earlier this week, and were shocked to see essentially the same menu served, and we couldn't choose anything else because it's a prefix. Like truly, same app, mains, etc. Service was unfortunately just bad - we were served the wrong dish and then charged for the more expensive dish that we weren't even served, took us forever to order another drink or get anyone's attention. I don't blame the staff, they were definitely working across a lot, but after visiting two of this restaurant group's establishment, I could tell the owners of this restaurant systemically overwork their staff. I'd suggest if you are a true gastronomie fan, try to find a restaurant outside of this group! Not a bad restaurant, just feels a little fake if ya know what I mean.

I never thought I would be saying this about porridge of all things. But, Grød truly opened my eyes…read morein terms of how I could prepare my daily oatmeal. We tried Grød at two locations: the Torvehallerne market and at 7Eleven. The market, I ordered the Oat Porridge which came with apples, roasted almonds and caramel sauce, my mom had the All In! and my dad had the oat waffle. All of us (mostly) left satisfied. My picky father loved his waffle. And I really enjoyed the porridge I had. The oats perfectly cooked, the apples and almonds gave it a nice textural contrast. Plus the caramel, which was more like a dulce de leche added the perfect amount of sweetness without being too sweet. My mom was a bit ambivalent because the All In was too sweet. But to be fair, All In includes all of their toppings. Including chocolate and caramel so her assessment was fair! The Grød at 7Eleven had this wonderful chia pudding, layered with yogurt, natural peanut butter, a berry compote and nuts and I was obsessed. So simple, yet so wholesome. I found a cup at the airport and proceeded to import it back to the States. Overall, it was definitely worth a visit (or 2) to have my mind blown. Grød may not have intended it but this lil Westerner is now leveling up her oats game thanks to their menu!

The interior is super cozy and the staff are very friendly. What I loved most obviously was the food! Simple breakfast options that are done well. We tried the waffles with sausage & scrambled eggs and the "Booorrrinnngg" which was a traditional Danish breakfast of bread, cheese & jam. Both dishes were so, so good! I had a steaming, fresh cup of coffee (which includes 1 free refill) that paired perfectly with the dishes & the brisk weather. All for a reasonable price. I truly loved this spot for breakfast and would definitely return! :) [84/100]

Although there is no shortage of breakfast/brunch places in Copenhagen nowadays, it is nice to see…read moreone like this. They have simple egg sandwiches and bagels, and for beer week they had a special burger called "Dirty Move" which contained fat chunks of bacon and a fried egg. Of course I had to try that one. The bun was lightly toasted on the inside, just how I like it, and kept together well even though I ate it with my hands. They also have some bottles of Copenhagen Hot Sauce to spice things up. I tried their collab with Amager Bryghus, Dario the Dark Don; it was nicely smoked and had a good amount of heat. Since it was beer week, of course I wanted to keep the good times flowing.. so I got a beer with my breakfast. They only have one on draft; the tap is a blue kettle since it is always from the Beer Geek series. This day it happened to be Beer Geek Flat White, which was a generous pour in a clear mug. To keep things moving quickly, please fetch your food when your number is called and when finished take your whole tray up to the cubby to put your cups and plates away. I'd definitely come back again, the donuts and bagels look good. I was hoping to grab chicken & waffles here but this was not my lucky day.
