Fantastic desserts. Big place with lots of indoor & outdoor seating in a fun area. Staff are also nice & friendly. If you're visiting Copenhagen, make sure you stop by here. We went twice in 2.5 days we had there!

The best of the best in Copenhagen. A friend recommended this place to us and we were so glad of all the places we tried. This was by far. the best!! I would rank this as Copenhagen ac's number one pastry shop. They have a boutique upstairs where you can buy Danish cookies and cakes. Perfect gift to take back home.

A nice and popular bakery with a wide variety of desserts and coffee. I went for breakfast at 8:30am so there was no line but you will have to wait mid day! It's counter style, where you order at the counter and find seating on your own. I got a vanilla tart and the classic house specialty cake both were delicious and not overly sweet! I would recommend. I also ordered coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice! The first round of coffee came cold and I realize now that was a mistake on their part. They probably served me old coffee hence the 3 stars but luckily they swapped out my pot of cold coffee with fresh hot coffee immediately.

Absolutely worth a visit. I got a mocha eclair and a hot chocolate. Plenty of room inside, even though it was busy. Counter service and they bring it to your table when it's ready.

Hot chocolate!

What a great place to enjoy fresh pastries and hot chocolate! It's a very upscale coffee shop and all about the posh ambiance and fresh pastries. The hot chocolate must be well known as we saw several people order it after we were seated. The Sevice is top notch as they bring your order to your table and offer free refills. But for the price, you won't be able drink enough to justify it. It is good hot chocolate though! And the pastries are some of the best I've had here in Copenhagen!!!

Love this place. While other visitors prefer "5-tier cakes" my favorite is Danish raspberry slice "hindbærsnitter" and definately Earl Grey tea with milk :)

Caramel: caramel mousse, citrus infused caramel ganache, biscuit base. My favorite.

Come here for the cakes. La Glacé is a beloved institution that's been around since 1870. It is Denmark's oldest family owned and operated patisserie. There is Always a line and for good reason: the cakes are That delicious. I could not narrow down my choices to just a few so I ordered several. You cannot go wrong with any flavor. The moment you step foot inside La Glacé, you are transported back into time to the late 19th century and well worth trying. Don't be alarmed by the long line: it moves at a very fast pace.

One of the better pastry shops I went to 100%. There is usually a line, so be prepared for that. Not only are the pastries really good but the service is also very home-y. There is plenty of seating and it's a very open area. The pastries are a 9/10 and I got an americano rather than an espresso this time. The Americano was also surprisingly good at a 8/10. I would come here again and again, but I need to try other cafes while I'm here :( This is by far the best one though.

Assorted Danish Cookies

4.5 stars for their Danish cookies.. Almost 5! Unfortunately, I only got Danish cookies from La Glace as the line for the bakery/cakes was way too long (at least an hour!). There's a separate entrance for the cookies so I entered from there. Picked up a few boxes and they were packaged really nicely; they make great gifts. I kept a box for myself and it contained 8 flavors. The cookies were super soft, buttery, and delicious. A few of them were a little too sweet, but still good. Highly recommended!!

This place is so popular and good that there is a perpetual line for their goodies. Don't be too intimidated though as the line can go fast and not everyone in the line plans to stay for a long time. It's dessert, so people come and go. I'd say a 30-minute wait is worth it, but not more than that. Just come back later if you have to wait forever. They're well known for their hot chocolate and the Sports Cake so these are what I recommend you order. Both are straight up delectable.

Passion fruit mousse

Best pastry shop in Copenhagen. All of the desserts are amazing and the presentation is incredibly appealing and beautiful but the flavors are even better. You cannot go to Copenhagen without enjoying these creations. You order at the counter and then they will bring it to your table. During the summer there's outdoor seating or you can sit inside where there's plenty of room.

This place was on several travel food shows I watch and was also highly rated when I was doing research for our trip to Copenhagen. We showed up on a Saturday afternoon and there was a line of about 15 people. It moved very quickly and while we waited, we looked at the showcase on beautiful patisserie. We sat inside and ordered our treats as well as coffee and hot chocolate (both were very good). Both of us got a croissant, I got chocolate which was good and had chocolate inside. My wife got the almond one and while it was good, there was no filling. Next I moved to the Sportskage, which La Glacé is famous for. It was very good, but definitely enough for two people. I really enjoyed it as it was not like any other cake I had had before. My wife got the Konsensus, which was a passion fruit mousse with mango gel over a hazelnut biscuit base topped with a chocolate macaroon. She said this was the clear winner of the day. Would definitely go back and try some of the other pastries and such.

This is the place for dessert in CPH! Always a wait especially on the weekends but definitely worth it. I've tried a couple of the chocolate desserts which are divine. The servers behind the counter are wonderful! Always pleasant and smiling. Inside it feels like you are having coffee and dessert in a place from another time-classy and charming. This isn't your typical leather sofa with jazz in the background coffee/dessert house. It isn't the cheapest but you won't regret it.

The cakes, pastries and delicious eats this tiny little bakery pump out are one of a kind and the best indulgence in Copenhagen. They are only matched, well nearly so, by the charm and good humor of the shop's owner who is never short on laughs & wit. If you haven't tried them, the once a year fastelavnsboller party is not to be missed. Christmas cookies are one of the best gifts (especially if traveling, they keep very well) and are unique and delicious. We were fortunate enough to have our wedding cakes made here and they were guest favorites! Can't say enough good about this tiny little gem of a cake shop. Run, don't walk and pick up something sweet for me while you're there!

Dessertdragen's cakes are, however, extraordinary, and neither can or should be compared with the mass produced products from certain 'baker chains' in Copenhagen. (no one mentioned, no one forgotten) Let's take a 'hindbærsnitte'. (awesome and simple Danish raspberry cake) - where other bakeries use a cheap, generic raspberry jam - Dessertdragen makes it's own jam! Currently I'm living in New York City, and craving for the quality of the cakes from Dessertdragen I had my boyfriend bring some, yay. And speaking of NYC; when I left Denmark I had a special cake made by Dessertdragen - see the attached picture. When the owner of Dessertdragen moved back to Denmark, NYC lost it's most creative soul in baking!

"The name comes from the appearance of the first bakery, which was a square building with alternating cream-colored layers resembling a layer cake." This bakery also serves breakfast items, brod (open face )sandwich and coffees. Here is a sample of pastry offerings in Danish: Wienerbrød: The general term for what English speakers call "Danish pastries". Kanelsnegl: A cinnamon roll. Spandauer: A pastry typically filled with jam or custard. Frøsnapper: A pastry sprinkled with seeds. Tebirkes: A poppy seed pastry. There are numerous locations for this bakery. I visited the location in main hall of Kobenhaven K or Central Station before catching my train to Kronborg Castle. The space was filled with people who were grabbing a ticket and then wait for ticket number to be called. I was indecisive and thought I saw a pastry with lemon filling. The employee who seemed a bit flustered told me that it was not lemon and she did not have anything with lemon. It turned out to be vanilla custard which was just as good. I also tried the green sprinkled marshmallow ball. She placed my two items in their own bag. I wanted a shopping bag which she snidely says "It cost 5 krone". Unfortunately, my New York response was snide as well, "I don't care". The two pastries were delicious. However, service needs to be as exquisite as the items you sell, unfortunately this location is lacking in that. There is another, smaller located downstairs from concourse whose employees are sweeter. Nok sagt or enough said.

Most of the baked goods were sold, so asked the attendant what popular item I should get. Probably wasn't a great question since most of the items were gone, but suggested a Danish with almond filling covered in chocolate ( Gammeldags Julebolle) for $4.89 (converted). Brought it back to my hotel to consume. I thought it was OK, very dense and definitely one would fill you up (couldn't finish it). Much prefer an almond croissant.
