As a current customer I have to say Vivint has very poor management. Went in circles with 2…read moredifferent individuals. I had a scheduled appointment with a certain technician to come out to my home to relocate 1 camera and add a few other new devices. For some reason our assigned technician was re assigned to a different installation. The issue is , this technician came out to my home and knew exactly where I wanted new equipment and all wire ran through the attic. I've had bad experiences with prior techs to the point I had to help them run wire through attic. This is specifically why he was requested and assigned originally. So I lost a days of work due to I wanted to be home for install and now we had to cancel. So now I'm even more delayed on getting my new equipment. Scheduling needs to get it together. When someone is requesting a tech. It's for a reason. Every customer has different needs and expect certain outcomes that not all techs can perform. If I could give negative 5 stars I would.

The panel is slow and often disconnects to the internet. The phone app is pretty cool but slow. I called Vivint so they could just send a tech to fix everything at once and they told me they would send someone out for $99. I've had different security services before so compared to past experiences I really feel like I got a bad deal.

I do remember being totally turned off with their company after having to deal with Tammy. Thankfully, she's not a doctor because she would have a terrible bed-side manner. We have been with Frontpoint now for around four years and have had excellent service. My parents went with SimpliSafe and are also happy. Looks like we both made an excellent decision!

I've used Advanced Security's alarm and monitoring service for four years. I chose them because…read morethey are locally owned and operated and their monthly rates are low in comparison to other companies. The monitoring service is outsourced to a national call center, which handles monitoring for many different alarm companies. My initial installation for two door sensors and a motion sensor was very expensive; $850! I went ahead and paid this because I did not want to get sucked into an ADT contract or a bait and switch with "low introductory rates." Despite the high initial cost I've had great customer service anytime I've had questions or issues with the equipmemt. There is also no contract, and the monthly monitoring price has only increased once, from $25 to $30. My only complaint thus far is a delay in notification. Recently I came home carrying groceries and did not enter my code in time. I punched it in about 30 seconds after the siren was sounding but did not receive a call from the national monitoring center. I was concerned that my phone missed the call, so I telephones the call center myself and asked. The alarm agent informed me there is a two minute period they wait for a code to be entered before checking the list for responsible parties. This means that in the event of a good alarm (ie: an actual burglary), the suspect could have up to two minutes to work before the first call on the list is made. If nobody answers, the alarm service will notify law enforcement who will likely have a delayed response as well. In effect, five or ten minutes could easily go by before contact is made with law enforcement, by which time the burglar will likely be long gone. This will likely be the case with any alarm monitoring service, but one has to ask if its even worth it at that point. I'll pay $30 a month for this service, but nothing more.
