Nothing but fantastic things to say about JLC in general, and their flagship NYC boutique in…read moreparticular. They are the watchmaker's watchmaker for a reason, their lineup is all heavy horological hitters! I have a Reverso and a MUT Moon, and my only issue is deciding which one to wear each day. The flagship boutique is great; associates are always very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the maison, it's reassuring to have folks on the floor who know what they're talking about. There are also special events every quarter or so, well worth attending to learn more about the rich history of JLC, and to get an inside look into some of the watches and movements. If you're into watches at all, JLC is a must!

Sagar is nothing short of patient, professional and knowledgeable! He made the design of my wife's engagement and wedding band an absolute breeze. Anyone, and I do mean anyone, that says they've had a horrible experience here either couldn't make up their mind or they're maliciously trying to harm the business with a poor review/rating. My wife is constantly complimented on her ring everywhere she goes. So much so that she decided to have my custom wedding band made here as well, and I too have had the exact same experience of compliments on my band. Do a little research so you have an idea of what you're looking for, and Sagar is more than capable of helping you tweak the details to bring your vision to life!

I had a wonderful time at the store!…read more Today was my first time there, because I was on the search for watch repairs. We finally stoped at GEMS and the owner replaced two of my batteries for very cheap-- same price that it had cost my friend to replace just one battery at a mall kiosk. GEMS offers the best price for battery repairs-- I've tried three other places, and GEMS is the cheapest. The owner was very friendly and professional. The work was done quickly and with great care. Afterwards, my friend and I browsed the store. I'd never gone in before because I expected everything to be ridiculously expensive and high-end. While they do have many beautiful, expensive items on display, they also keep many more affordable items on the counter and shelves. Now, keep in mind that this is not the dollar store, or even a Claire's. This is a gallery of sorts. They offer beautiful necklace charms and stones for under ten dollars, and their bracelets and necklaces range from thirty to forty dollars-- a reasonable price, if you ask me. They have a variety of different styles and offer accessories from different cultures. We found Buddha necklaces, ankhs, crosses, etc. There's something for everyone. And it's not just religious memorabilia either; we found cute Hello Kitty earrings, fish charms made of jade, etc. They offer different types of jade, rose gold, gold, silver, birthday stones, other beautiful stones, etc. Not once did it feel like the store owner was trying to talk us into buying anything. He would patiently answer our questions and let us wander the store, even though he'd probably expected that we wouldn't buy anything. (Forgot to mention: some of the items on display are also for purchase near the back of the store.) He gave us advice on different pieces of jewelry and was extremely helpful. When we finally settled on something to purchase, he gave us tips on how to make maintenance and cleaning of the item more affordable. Wonderful service, not just trying to take our money. I will definitely be coming back here, whether it be to fix my jewelry, replace my watch battery, or purchase a gift. Thanks for a lovely afternoon, GEMS!

I highly recommend this place, especially to people who believe in supporting small, local businesses.

This place is pretentious; but I do believe they make a great product. I purchased a pair of sunglasses and misplaced the protective sleeve and cleaner cloth. I came in, explained to the greeter, on the ground level. He informed me they probably would not have one, but I could make my way to the 4th Floor, which I did. As I waited at reception, ai observed the waiting area was packed, there was one lady she did me, who was being a little difficult, however, the woman at reception, was not the most helpful and came across as dismissive toward her, and myself, once it was my turn. I was told that I could order what I needed and I could wait by the bar area. She summoned another employee to search for it and/or inform me the cost. I made my way to the bar, and enjoyed my Perrier. Once the employee returned, she told me they could not locate a replacement nor could I order one. I was utterly disappointed. I was told my best option was to purchase a generic one. I spent nearly $1800 for glasses, and didn't find this as ideal treatment. I considered purchasing a watch here, but ai believe that ship has sailed for me.
