Their new estimate was $300. The wedding band was simple, no stones, and I was sizing down. When I went into the store and asked them about this they said was the new price they were charging to resize rings. It is annoying that not only were they not sticking to the timeline that they gave me, but that they decided to increase the price to do a simple ring resize by 300%. Particularly when other places around the city have quoted me at $40. She came back with a manager who said that they would honor the original price of $110. They asked if two weeks would be ok, I said no so they said they would rush it. After two weeks I called to see when my ring would be ready. The person I talked to said it wasn't started and would take a few more weeks. It was at this point I asked for a manager. I got a call back from Dorian who proceeded to try and blame me for the situation saying I had only brought the ring in a week earlier (July 9th), he also tried to stay that the repairs center was running behind so my ring was forced to be done in August. I demanded that they give me an exact date when they would get me the ring and that they expedite it like they said they would. I got an email back saying that it would be done Friday the 16th. When I went to pick it up it took another 45 minutes of back and forth because they had stamped the inside of the ring with the Tiffany & Co name when it originally didn't have it. I have also reached out to their corporate customer service and was told the district manager would contact me. They have not done so, which is just par for the course in the horrific customer service they have give me. I then called their number expecting either someone to pick up, apologize, and open up the door, or an outgoing voicemail message with why they weren't open. Neither was the case. Store was small and a little boring. I've since chalked that up less to the collection, and rather to the lack of enthusiasm and charisma of the staff. When we walked in (they were open the next day, but I did call first), one person was on the phone and never made eye contact despite speaking loudly on the phone in the otherwise very quiet boutique. The saleswoman who eventually spoke to us held back for a while just watching us. When she did speak she just kept shoving different models under our noses without any real regard to what we might be interested in. While I do recognize that it isn't always easy decipher tastes right away, it just seemed very haphazard. If I wasn't already familiar with the brand, I probably would have left just as clueless as when I walked in and probably a little unimpressed/annoyed that I wasted my time in there. Of note, I have been to Panerai Boutiques around the world, and this was the first time I wanted to leave after 5 minutes.

I walked in and was immediately greeted with a warm hello and smile. I stated that I walked in out of curiosity and wasn't quite sure what I was looking for. He invited me to take a look and let him know if I had any questions. Everything in the store was so interesting but what really caught my eye was this off-white backpack made of hemp. My dad used to be a hippie back in his early days and for some reason, I immediately thought of him and felt like he would enjoy it. He's become an avid photographer and I pictured him carrying around his camera gear it and a couple of fruits as he embarks on his photo adventures. The owner told me that it was handmade and was actually made in Nepal. Wow, how cool! I was tempted to buy another for myself but decided to simply get one for now. When I handed it to my dad in a few days later, he absolutely loved it! I'm thankful to this store for introducing me to Tibetan culture.
