Sabah @ this location is on Bleeker St. in Lower Manhattan. Myself & a couple of friends were at Sabah the week before Christmas to attend the Diaspora Co. Holiday Party. Diaspora Co. Founder / Owner Sana Javeri Kadri, along w/ Highbeam Bank partnered / hosted the holiday party. Natoora catered the event. Guests were given a special preview of curated bites inspired by recipes in Kadri's."The Diaspora Spice Co. Cookbook: Seasonal Home Cokking from South Asia's Best Spice Farms" Book coming out in March 2026. Guests were able to sample the following at the holiday party: Roasted Carrots w/ Carrot Top Sambol & Anchovies Peanut Chutney Roasted Squash & Labneh Dip w/ Seasonal Veg. I only have great things to say about Sabah! Amazing product, friendly staff, and a colorful, welcoming store that feels more like your rich uncle's oak-paneled parlor than a shoe shop. Their shoes are truly fantastic. As someone who would routinely shell out $50-60 for a pair of average boat shoes each year, only to find them falling apart by the end of the summer, I'm more than happy to pay $200 for a high-quality shoe. The leather is top notch, the soles feel incredibly sturdy, and the craftsmanship is so impressive. If you're on the fence about Sabah, like I was for a little while, visit the store! I attempted to get my first pair of Sabah shoes and order a pair that was just a tad big. The return & exchange was super easy until I realized they gave me one shoe that was less than pristine. In my attempt to get a pair of Pristine Sabah's I went back and found they had no more of that shoe in my size in-store and I would have to wait until after the holiday to swap my unacceptable pair. This review is concerning the online store, as I was not able to visit the retail location (but plan to next time I am in New York!) I ordered a pair of the Fort Worth Brown Sabah's. I ordered a size of shoe that I typically wear, but when they arrived they were slightly to large (I discovered that I typically by shoes a little bigger, but with Sabah's you want to buy a really snug fit). (I want to say, that even though the shoes were a size big, they were still incredibly comfortable, insanely well made, and one of the nicest shoes I have ever owned. I am huge believer of sustainable footwear, and I could tell these shoes would last a lifetime.) I had been wanting a pair of Sabah's forever, and the reason I finally was making the purchase is that I am getting married and was going to wear them for the wedding. I was super disappointed that they were too big and that I would not get to wear them on the wedding day - or if I did choose too, they would never mold and wear properly, and would be ill fitting. I emailed their customer service team with the issue, and the reason I had bought the shoes - and I kid you not, within an hour I had the right pair of shoes being overnighted, and an incredibly thoughtful email response. Not only did they save the wedding day outfit, but they made me a huge believer in their company for life. I have never experienced better service in my life from a company. They went around their typical exchange, and then above and beyond by overnighting them. I seriously cannot believe it. I have only the highest praises for the company. I am so excited to get the right fit in the mail. Thank you very much Sabah team (specifically David). The best of the best. The exterior of the place looked cute, so decided to wander in! The staff was super friendly and offered to help, but unfortunately, they sell leather shoes and I don't buy leather. It's cool that the interior of the shoes are 100% cotton and I appreciated how many different colors the shoes come in. They seem more expensive but it looks like you're definitely getting higher quality shoes. Seems like a more modern Clarks! read more

My roots are from Hawai'i. Wearing slippahs is my comfort zone. I did want a pair of comfy leather shoes. Found Sabahs. I saw them in Venice (LA) before. I tried on a pair and they didn't feel great at all! You're supposed to get a size down and allow the shoe leather to mold to your foot. Ouch! I didn't believe. My friend got a pair in San Francisco and swears by them. The store was temporarily closed, so no way to try a pair on. I put my trust and $195 at the online store. My blue Sabahs arrived within 5 days from this store. The leather is buttery smooth and the hand stitching is impeccable. They look beautiful! Ouch! They are so tight. I still had faith and I walked around the house with them on and within a half hour the shoes were starting to fit me. I've been wearing them less than a week and yes, they are becoming the most comfortable shoes! Now that the San Francisco store is open, I'm heading over there to check out other colors! read more

What a cool and unique store. Started by a guy who simply wanted a cool pair of Turkish shoes. If I remember the story correctly, he thought they were incredibly comfortable and wanted to sell them in the states. He bought 10, that he bought 100, then he started a full on business. He had a store that was more of a pop-up and then added this full on showcase store. It's beautiful. Stylish as you would expect in this nabe. my girlfriend bought a pair and I thought they were gorgeous. But most of all she said they were very comfortable. We went back the next day. The gal who helped us was cute, and sweet as pie. I wish I could remember her name. A sister from LA who was loving her New York life. We chatted away while she helped me figure out my metric size. I'm usually an 11 and that translated to be a 42. It was worth trying on different pairs to find both a color I loved and a good fit, which she advised should be snug. She kept repeating that the leather stretches. The hardest thing about the experience was leaving with just one pair. I absolutely love the style and there are so many great colors. I am back in California and wearing my shoes around the house while they stretch to full comfort. I love them. I'm already looking forward to all the compliments. (I'm sure the other people here are nice too) He's the best stylist and is the warmest most gracious soul. I came in here with my boyfriend and he had the best recs for us. I have wide feet and DID NOT believe that Sabahs would fit me - he kindly took off his shoes and offered that I try on his. He too has wide feet and totally understood my hesitation.
