"This place is amazing. Now, I don't know much about fashion, fabric, and the least of all repairs…read more- but what the owner did to my shoes was impressive. My girlfriend bought me a pair of dress shoes for Christmas and I haven't really worn them because not only were the soles extremely slippery but they seemed to scuff easily. I spoke to a coworker that said that this shop was able to add a thin layer of traction material to the bottom of shoes - think 1/6th of an inch. These additions have a pattern that creates grip and also protects the soles so that they don't get scuffed up. I brought my pair of shoes in and he was able to have them back to me in 2 days. I was even able to wear them out after our recent storm - with the black ice all over the city and it was still okay. I told my gf to take her Christian Louboutins there to see what he can do about adding the addition sole to her shoes too. She just dropped them off today but she said he was able to match the exact red of the soles."

If i could give -5 stars i would...Do not trust this establishment... They may do good work however…read morethey price couch. I bought my shoes in the gentleman that does the repair work quoted me $40. He gave me the owners phone number and said she might give me a better price... So of course I called her. She tax on an additional $20 quoting me $60 for the job... I refuse to pay that because the shoes were not that expensive and I've had work like this done before for much less generally anywhere from $35-$45.is what I would expect to pay. Anyway, when I went to pick up my shoes look at the way she handed them to me. That was the sole on one shoe was coming off a bit, the other was coming off only at the very end of the hill... I know you probably have to open it up more, but look what she did she totally destroyed. It pull the hair off of one of them and that was the one that wasn't even coming off what did you support your additional $20 price tag to me this is price gouging and a rip off and you destroyed my shoes totally. The way I brought them to you I could've glued them myself and gotten may be another season out of it. I've done it before. Not only your rip off, but you destroyed my shoes. Now if I go to who are usually go to, it's gonna cost me even more than they would've charged me because I've had this work done before the only reason I came back to you because you're in my town. I'm totally satisfied with the Rutherford shoe repair store but it's another town. This is more convenient so I thought I'd try it never ever again... Run from this place don't walk they are not only a rip off but not honest and will resort to damaging your shoes just to prove their point on pricing. If I could give - 5 stars i would. I went to Harry the original owner for years... His workmanship was excellent but more importantly, he was extremely honest businessman. It's a shame what you've done with his business.

In December I was working and the entire sole of my boot came off in the snow. My fav pair of…read moreboots from Merrill that I've had for over 10 years. I was heartbroken. Googled boot repair and Cedar Grove Bootery came up so highly recommended that I got my hopes up that these boots could be made wearable again. Well this afternoon I brought my boots to this gentleman (whose name I didn't get). The shop is well organized and of course full of boots! He examined my boots and regretfully told me that as a professional he could not in good faith recommend putting any more money into this pair of boots and that he would recommend buying a new pair. He looked at me so sympathetically-knowing I had an irrational attachment to them. He said he could take my money and repair the boots but they wouldn't last and he wouldn't want to do that kind of work. So I ALMOST asked him to repair them anyway. But when a pro is telling you your boots have died, it really is time to accept that your boots have died. I have tremendous respect for someone who has such high standards that they will turn down work if they know the result won't be up to snuff. I have ANOTHER pair of broken boots that I plan to bring there especially now that I know he is a trustworthy craftsman.

They have brought my overly worn, ripped and extremely dirty suede boots back to life! I have the hardest time finding tall boots that fit just right, and when I finally found a pair of course they had to cost me an arm and a leg. So obviously I wore these boots until they had no miles left. (Or so I thought). I stowed them away for a year never having a chance to get them repaired until now. The owner put a new heel edge at the bottom, did a miraculous patch job on this huge rip, and cleaned them up so well that they look brand new! Took a week to do and cost about $50. I cannot thank them enough! Already brought another pair of boots to them and can't wait to get them back!
