In December I was working and the entire sole of my boot came off in the snow. My fav pair of boots from Merrill that I've had for over 10 years. I was heartbroken. Googled boot repair and Cedar Grove Bootery came up so highly recommended that I got my hopes up that these boots could be made wearable again. Well this afternoon I brought my boots to this gentleman (whose name I didn't get). The shop is well organized and of course full of boots! He examined my boots and regretfully told me that as a professional he could not in good faith recommend putting any more money into this pair of boots and that he would recommend buying a new pair. He looked at me so sympathetically-knowing I had an irrational attachment to them. He said he could take my money and repair the boots but they wouldn't last and he wouldn't want to do that kind of work. So I ALMOST asked him to repair them anyway. But when a pro is telling you your boots have died, it really is time to accept that your boots have died. I have tremendous respect for someone who has such high standards that they will turn down work if they know the result won't be up to snuff. I have ANOTHER pair of broken boots that I plan to bring there especially now that I know he is a trustworthy craftsman. read more

Leroy is an expert shoemaker. He will treat your shoes with great care and decades of expertise. And he is a really nice guy!

I took two pairs of leather shoes here to have their soles replaced and, if I must say, the brown leather shoes were in pretty bad condition. They had been well loved by me and never maintained. When I got them back, they looked great! Water stains had been removed, the soles are new--for as long as I'm in the area, I'm coming here to take care of my nice leather shoes. Keep in mind it's cash only! read more

Great place. Leroy does a great job, restoring shoes to like-new. Off-street parking, friendly service. n.b. Cash only in advance. read more

Leroy is the Real Deal. Top quality value and perfect repairs by a master of the art form. Amazing stories of how he learned his craft from some of the best old world Italian shoemakers. I trust him with beloved boots and shoes that are investments--worth a lot-- that I want to preserve and enjoy for as long as possible. He knows how to do things right/highly skilled and doesn't cut corners. He is WAY better than "the" place in Morristown or "the" place I used to schlep to in NYC. I discovered Leroy's Bootery a few years ago and was so glad!!' I trust him completely. Highly recommend. Local treasure. Worth it! read more

Leroy is an absolute master! I dropped off a pair of Ferragamo shoes that I bought a few years ago. The rubber sole had begun to separate from the shoe after a year's worth of moderate wear. I brought them back to Ferragamo, to be fixed, but again, the sole began to separate. I brought the shoes to Leroy to have the soles replaced with leather soles, replace the heel, and fixed some worn areas. The shoes are like brand new! I'll definitely be back to have my other shoes worked on. Thanks, Leroy! read more

Cedar Grove Bootery - Complete sole and heel replacement - Shoe Repair Near Me - Cedar Grove, New Jersey

I have a nice leather backpack. I put too much in it. It ripped at a seam because it had too heavy a load. I brought it in to Cedar Grove Bootery . It was fixed promptly and professionally. He was also reasonably priced and pleasant to deal with. I would definitely recommend this business. I was pleased. I am sure you will be too. read more

This shop came highly recommended so I decided to try them out when a pair of boots needed new heels. I was forewarned that this is a strictly cash only business with payment up front. His work was excellent, the price was fair ($25 to repair the boots) and there's a parking lot behind the shop. I'll be back for sure. Thank you Leroy! read more

Dropped my wife's heels off to be repaired and she was not at all happy with the results. The leather did not look at all improved and she ended up having to take them elsewhere to get further attention. Also does not take credit cards which is a real hassle. read more

He's great. Dropped some boots off. He talked me into some mink oil that I probably didn't need. I got cash and paid for my stuff. It's that simple. read more

Leroy is kinda like Jesus, he brings your shoes back to life. He's a true master at what he does. I hope he stays in business forever.

I could not be happier with Leo and his staff. I brought 4 pairs of shoes in and all came out as if they were new. I have used the shoe repair guy in upper montclair and he destroy an expensive pair of Alden shoes--the same make and model as the one pictured. Leo has a specific machine that gets the upper front looking store new. I'm going to see if he can fix the pair that the Bellevue guy ruined. Do your self a favor and take the extra trip to Cedar Grove, the Montclair guy is a hack. read more

I brought a pair of boots here after the zipper broke on them. Leroy tried his best to fix them at a reasonable cost without having to send them out. I appreciated his honesty in that he didn't know for sure if his fix would hold up properly. Unfortunately, his quick fix didn't hold up. I brought them back a week later and he put the cost of his orignal fix towards the cost of sending them out. They were back exactly when he said they would be and fixed perfectly. He's not the friendliest or most talkative guy, but his prices are reasonable and he is honest on whether or not he can fix something. Just a tip - CASH ONLY. read more

First time I've used this business and first time in a long time I've gotten my boots polished- Leroy did an awesome job. Took his time and care - they came out terrific. Will definitely be back read more

Great place to fix shoes. Small shop thats run by one man I believe and he really fixes up your shoes. My dog chewed my Louboutins (almost sent him to the pound after that) and he fixed them up pretty well! They are in like 80% good condition now, enough to wear on a night out without people noticing they were ruined, but this was the best he could do and I was more than please. He brought them back to life! Great place and great guy! read more

Leroy is the best shoemaker I have known. I go out of my way to make sure I support his business. Quality of workmanship is unsurpassed.

Leroy is a craftsman and a gentleman. My half-soles and heels came out beautifully. In the past I've had cobblers of high and low quality, and Leroy is excellent. Make sure to bring cash; they have a PNC bank next door, but the ATM charges a $3 fee. read more

LeRoy has Ben taking care of my families shoes, boots and fine leather goods for over 10 years. The man is an artist in the art, a rare thing these days. My wife had the heal break on her favorite shes, not an expensive pair, but one with a unique group of colors that she could not replace. He pun on new heals and polished them for less than half the price of a new pair. I won't trust anyone else I know with our leather goods.
