Like others have mentioned. Joseph came with an assistant. I'm not sure if the assistant was the same in all cases, but this particular assistant had experience in construction. So, it was nice to have TWO people confirm things that were identified in the inspection. Joseph was very cordial, on time, and extremely affordable (cheapest inspector I found out there - I got quotes from maybe 4 or 5 other inspectors, many of which are here on Yelp). His delivery system is top-notch too. He provides you a personal login to the report and there is a built-in a system for letting others view it using temporary logins. He takes tons of pictures with this digital camera (not a phone camera) and is very detailed in his report. Both he and his assistant are very through and very detailed. As a mid-savvy investor there are times when my eyes are jaded and need an outside opinion. Hiring Joseph saved me $2625 off my accepted contract Quality - Very thorough. Joseph reviews all appliances, outlets (if accessible) and ceilings of the house. He goes through all rooms and should anything catch his attention he reviews that with you and captures it on camera. Outside he goes over the roof fairly well and explains his opinion on the condition of the roof along with exterior. The best part of the inspection was when he discovered an old power box showing evidence of knob and tube wiring and over viewing the attic. Joseph's shortcomings were good attention to the flooring and if there were items in the way he just moved along. Customer Service - I think it's fantastic that you can pay through his website via PayPal and he offers discounts to military/government/teachers/cops/firefighters/1st time home buyers. He's was punctual (on time). He answers his phone quickly and that is his best point of contact. On the day of our home inspection, Joe showed up on time, dressed appropriately, and conducted himself professionally. Due to snow, he offered to come back the next day to finish inspecting the outside of the house and it's roof. Joe explained many things throughout the inspection, and then he was quick to write up his report with photos. Unfortunately, Joe missed something during his inspection, and though he willingly came out to see the issue, he was much less professional and pleasant this time around. He showed up smoking a cigarette and complaining about his kid. Though he says the issue he missed is not something he was required to report, it was easy to spot and has cost us a lot to repair it, so naturally I am disappointed. Since writing this review, Joe has also threatened me and then tried to guilt me (with personal information about his family, claiming I am costing him his livelihood) to try to get me to remove my review. One of the worst home inspection reports I have ever read. Multiple errors, guesswork, unnecessary fear-instilling comments, and grossly negative conclusions. The phrase "safety hazard" was used over 30 times. You'd think the house was a death trap. In most every case, the advice was to hire a professional to determine if in fact a problem existed. If this guy wasn't qualified to make these determinations, why did he draw conclusions? This report nearly derailed a solid home sale. Out of many dozens of comments -- pretty much all negative -- we found at best 10 were accurate and they resulted in minor work being done to the property.
