My daughter and I got pedis here shortly after I had my knees replaced. The two ladies that worked on our feet were very sweet, though neither spoke English very well. (Admittedly, they speak English far better than I speak any other language, so certainly no judgment there.) They were happy to communicate via hand signals and facial expressions and they made us feel at ease. The place wasn't overwhelmingly busy but each employee did have a customer at all times. When my toes were done and I paid, I found that I couldn't tip without cash. I didn't have a debit card, so I had to drive to a store to get cash back. My daughter told me that, while I was away, the pedicurist said we didn't have to tip. (I only include that information because it shows how sweet they were.) I absolutely did have to tip. I know they get paid but that's for the job itself. I wanted them to feel appreciated for the special touches they put on my daughter's toes, for their pleasantness, and their color suggestions. The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because the staff is friendly. But my experience there wasn't a good one. I walk in around 2:45 wanting to get a gel manicure. The place was really busy so it's understandable that I would have to wait. However, I did not expect to barely be leaving around 5:20. That's almost 3 hours for a mani!! The staff could have let me know to come back two hours later, or an approximate wait time. If the wait time/the duration of the mani ended up in nails that looked good then I would simply make a note to self to come back when it wasn't as busy. But to me, these nails looked like a kindergartener did them. Let me start from the beginning of my manicure: I am asked to sit at table 1. 20 minutes later a woman walks by and tells me that they will be with me shortly. Less than 5 minutes later a man comes and I think yay it's finally my turn. He asks me to move to table two so I do. He soaks my hands and I let him know I would like to keep the length of my nails and he proceeds to file them. He then tends to my cuticles and I will say that was probably the only part that I thought was done pretty well. Then he leaves and tends to my friend who was also getting a gel mani and was sitting across the room from me. He's with her for 5 minutes and leaves to work on a pedicure. I use that time to look at my nails. They're not shaped smoothly, they have a weird shape to them and I think to myself "really? They can't even file nails?!?" Since I'm by myself I proceed to file my own nails and give them a rounded smooth shape. This takes away a tiny bit of length but it was necessary. Since I had more time to kill I started using the cuticle cutter on cuticles that were missed. About 10 minutes later the lady that told me she would be with me shortly finally got to me. She noticed I was messing with the nail file and cuticle cutter so she took a look and redid that part. I was pretty impressed that she noticed I did that especially with all the running around she was doing. She's the reason this place is getting two stars instead of just one. She proceeded with my nails and we talked for a little bit. She was really nice and she even thanked us for waiting after we had paid. However, almost three hours, and 30 dollars later I was not satisfied with the result. Both my friend's nails and mine didn't look very good. I've picked at them and cleaned them up a bit and this is as good as they're going to look. I would definitely say that the end result was not worth that process and I will not be going back. read more

Today I'm sad to say, I'm not happy with there service today :( I arrived I was greeted very politely and asked for a specific design on a full set of acrylic nails. They got me seated right away. The nail specialist station was very clean and she was nice. She misunderstood and thought I wanted just a manicure. I said I asked for a full set. So she started over, and said it would be $5 dollars more. I said fine.I was charged $56.35 including the 7 something tip. My nails feel lumpy :( . The more and more I look at my nails, I'm disappointed. I should of savwd the money and done them myself ( I buy nails from target or Wal-Mart and glue them on) Iget tons of compliments when I do them myself. Stay away from this nail salon! They do not follow health department code. Using items that are for "single" use on multiple customers. This is how people get fungus, and foot diseases. They skimp on products, and their pedicurists is more busy watching Tv, or chit chatting with the other technicians than paying attention to what she's doing with a sharp cuticle nipper. Spa chairs were broken and the controls didn't work. They blamed it on the customers as to why they are broken, but why not get them fixed so they work properly? A smile is not enough customer service, there is such a thing called professionalism, and courteousness. I am not your friend, or your gal pal. I have been getting my nails done here for several months. Each time that I have gotten a new set or a fill of my acrylic nails, they have made my cuticles bleed. A time or two they have also cut me when filing the sides. On my visit, last Wednesday, I needed a fill. Not only did she make my cuticles bleed on 2 fingers and was cut by her filing the sides, she also ran the Dremel tool all the way through my nail and made me bleed there too. I have been talking about going to a different salon but keep giving them another chance. I have been hoping the gal just made a careless mistake and learned from it. But since it has happened so many times and all 3 of these things at once, unfortunately it's finally time for me to move on. read more

I asked for a pink and white ombré full set. The nail technician messed up so badly it was not an ombré. She had no idea what she was doing. The acrylic was so thick and uneven. Avoid this business!! We called an made reservations for a wedding party of 7 and when we got there they were not ready for us. There was only 4 people working and one of those had they same customer the whole 2 hours we were there. We told them we all needed mani and pedi's but due to the lack of people several of us backed out on both. 2 of us were cut and bled during our pedi's. 1 person asked for a nail repair and they kept trying to get her to do a full manicure. I paid for a manicure and only got my cuticles pushed back no cleaning or soaking, maybe 2 min of massage for both hands. All in all we were all disappointed especially since we planned ahead and had planned a fun time for the bridal party. read more

Ruined nails. Was NOT what was asked for to the point of crying! When asked for refund was rudely told to let them take off the nails they just did and that they would still keep money! Then after leaving we had left some honest reviews on their Facebook pages which were conveniently deleted as they were bad reviews (go figure)...I was emailed by Vtech asking how they could do better.. I understand not being able to get an exact what you want with comparing someone elses work and wanting it be exactly duplicated but these were seriously awful! The nail techs are always eager to do my nails and never pressure me into getting something that costs more like other salons do. I can't say enough about TOM and the amazing pedicures I get at V-Tech! I moved here in August and tried another "popular" nail salon and I thought the service there was horrible. Then I found V-Tech! Tom did my pedicure and it was absolutely AMAZING!!! Coming from San Diego, the salons there are a little cheaper, like $20 for a spa pedicure. In Oak Harbor, $25 is the norm. Of course, V-Tech offers a couple different levels of pedicures. If you need a good leg and foot massage, make an appointment with Tom. You don't need an appointment most of the time but it's good to secure a pedi with him! I also get fills and GEL polish here. I love those too!!! She was in a rush to do my nails the whole time and she got annoyed when I couldn't pick out my color right away! She insisted to keep my nails long and said it would look ugly when they're short. I went here a few weeks ago with my sister. The next day my toe was swollen and tender. A couple of weeks later it was still bad so I went back for a refund. I thought I was going to have to get antibiotics. They refused to give me a refund. The manager did try to fix it, saying some times they cut too deeply. When asking the tech to correct something I was actually yelled at and she refused to finish. If there was an option for a negative amount of stars, I would give it. Not too impressed with the manicure I got today. Not sure who it was, I just remember it was the guy with the mole. I got an acrylic manicure and I didn't realize until I got home that I was overcharged by $5. Usually I wouldn't make a fuss because $5 isn't that much....but this experience was terrible. He filed my nails WAY more than necessary and I am experiencing discomfort and pain. Now on to the design I wanted....I wanted a simple design with a bow painted on.....what I ended up getting was what looked like an infinity sign and a mustache had a child.....and the child fell of it's bike and landed on it's face.....I normally go to Hai or Island Nails but I forgot to make an appointment and Island Nails was super packed. And to top things of, me and my friends went there.....it took us an hour before we were helped and it wasn't that busy. All in all, this is my second bad experience there and I will never go back.
