We've been doing business with Uzi's for nearly 27 years. Always the best service and (importantly) long term advice.

Good service, honest fair pricing. Was able to confirm that previous shop was fabricating damage that wasn't there.

If I have a European car out of warranty, I have no issues taking it to Uzi's. They do good work at a fair price.

I have used Uzi's twice to repair my daughter's Audi. I fully trust and recommend - they were reasonable and did a great job.

I have been a regular Take 5 customer and have never had an issue with the service or staff before today. When I was asked what type of oil I wanted, I specifically requested the same lower-grade oil I have received during my previous visits. Despite making that clear, I was given the premium-grade oil instead. When it came time to pay, I noticed that my bill was nearly twice what I had paid on previous visits. When I brought the unexpected charge to J's attention, his response was dismissive and rude. He stated, "This is what you agreed to," rather than taking the time to address my concern or explain why I was being charged significantly more than usual. My concern is not simply about the price--it is about the way the situation was handled and the lack of transparency. I should be able to trust that the service I request is the service I receive, and that any significant change in cost is clearly communicated beforehand. I have never had a negative experience at Take 5 until this visit, which is why I felt compelled to leave this review. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and looks into what happened. If customers are being treated this way, it is certainly concerning and does not reflect the level of customer service I have come to expect from Take 5 Let me also add in, my truck wouldn't start when asked to turn the engine back on. "My cool air intake" was some how magically disconnected Best regards.

South Main

Solid five stars…read more My mother's 2005 Mazda had to have a transmission replaced one year ago. Took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't get the parts and couldn't do the work. I called around to 5 or 6 shops, (including several Aamcos), claiming to specialize in transmissions and got pretty much the same story. But I'm stubborn. And then I called Mr Kirby. He says "Sure, bring it in" or something to that effect. She got it back a week later with an 18 month/18,000 mile warranty. A couple of weeks later her warning light came on. It was driving ok so we took it back to Mr Kirby. One of the new parts had a crack in it so he repaired it completely under warranty. All's well that ends well. Fast forward a year and the warning light comes on again, and this time it wasn't really drivable so we have it towed back to the South Loop. (Thank you AAA) Again, a crack in one of the replacement parts. Again, fixed completely under warranty. Now, I know that's Aamco's warranty policy and not Mr. Kirby's. So while I'm technically reviewing AAMCO-South Loop, it's Mr Kirby that makes this location special. He's personable and professional and "Is a man of his word". What more can you ask of an auto shop? Lastly, I suspect, but don't know, that's it's the unreliability of the after market Chinese made parts that forced me to make so many phone calls to find a shop willing to do the work. If you ever need transmission work, (Heaven forbid!), go see Mr Kirby. He's a good guy.
