Every year I have to get our car in Houston inspected. Every January without fail! This year I wanted it done earlier so I don't have to hurry. John's Xpress service is an amazing place! Today, I was going to try and get the inspection for the registration renewal. I pulled into their always full lot and a guy came over expecting him to tell me to get off the parking area. I asked if they could do a vehicle inspection and to my surprise, he said, "sure, I can do it right now." He told me to go inside and wait for the car to be inspected. In less than 20 minutes, the young man came in and said that my car was ready. I paid for it and was told to check the paper work because there was a minor recall notice on my vehicle. Where in the Houston area can you find a service like that? This is one place that has always exceeded my expectations. They are a wonderful, friendly bunch of efficient hard working people. It's very much appreciated. Please stay the way you are always! There's not too many like you guys anymore. Thanks!

Speedy service. Front desk is nice and the mechanics will usually come speak to you personally about the maintenance they did.

Dents (2) on hood - this is after we used suction to pull it out. This was the worse one.

Been here for inspections and a tune up previously. These were done well and in a timely manner. Always dealt with Peter. This time we dealt with Chris. The AC was out. Had to get a new compressor. Was supposed to be done the next day, ended up taking three days. Was told the dealership messed everything up, by sending wrong parts and incomplete parts, and made them run around all over town numerous times. Either way, it is done and the AC is working great! Only problem: dents in the front end of the hood as if someone with strong hands had slammed it closed. My bf called to let them know. Peter offered to correct it at their body shop or anything else to make it right. Just let the employees know to be careful in the future. I appreciated that Peter did try to remedy the situation. Also, the normal old oil change we get down the street vacuums the car, this place doesn't do that. Anyway, the cost came to almost $1,400.00, which wasn't too bad, when I researched the internet said the cost of parts with labor should be anywhere from $800 to $1,150.00. So the final cost was a little over a hundred dollars more than the higher end.

Battery, Windows, Vacuum & Tire Rotation... What a scam!

Came for a state inspection with no appointment. Took 15 minutes to complete and cost was $25.50. Quick and easy.

Was way too expensive, feel ripped off. Ask about prices before going or they may charge way more than you expect

Went for an oil change and met a great family owned business. Will definitely go back. Trustworthy, reliable, and well priced.

The truck only has 36k miles and I have not noticed or felt anything strange. Took it to Sal's. First time I've used them. The work bays were spotless as was the waiting area. I was pleasantly greeted too. They worked me in in less than 15 minutes. I asked a customer who was waiting how he felt about the place, and he said he had been taking his vehicles to Sal's for over twenty years and always had good experiences. Mechanic test drove my truck and said he could detect anything. Sal had it put on the lift and inspected it, and he said the same thing- nothing was wrong! He charged me -0- for this!

Twenty years of family trust -- and they just proved why."…read more When my father brought me to Sal's shortly after I moved back to Houston, I understood immediately why he'd been coming here for 20 years -- through multiple family vehicles, through every season of life. Sal and his whole team operate with a level of integrity that's genuinely rare and at a fair value. This past weekend, I came in for a routine oil change. What I left with was something far more valuable: the knowledge that my family is safe on the road. Sal discovered my brakes were nearly metal-on-metal -- something my dealership had missed just one month prior. He also noticed my tires had dried out and cracked, which explained why I'd felt a loss of grip I'd been brushing off. Neither the dealership nor Discount Tire -- with whom I had an active membership and had just patched a tire -- flagged either of these safety issues. That day, I replaced both my brakes and tires with Sal. After 30 years with Discount Tire, I made the switch without hesitation -- to where the care and expertise are real. And the small touches matter too: cold bottled water while you wait, peppermints sent home with the whole family, and a standing offer to check my tire pressure monthly -- for free. I've never felt so safe in my car, or so genuinely cared for by an auto professional. Sal, thank you. Our family is grateful. I've never felt so safe on the road.
