I visited here 1 month ago in December 2022, for my annual state car safety inspection. I actually came here on accident, I thought this was a jiffy lube. Turns out this location was recently bought out I guess by this company. I was there anyway and I needed my new sticker so I stuck around. I was pleasantly surprised, service was fast. I was able to stay in my vehicle for most of the inspection assessment. As the service tech completed the last few areas of my inspection, I went inside to pay in there tiny customer lobby. Cameron Jones, the manager of this location was excellent. I spoke to him directly, he appeared to be managing the service techs outside under the car port, and attempted to expedite all of the cars there for services. He provided prompt and immediate answers to my needs and concerns. He was courtesy, and offered great customer service. I would recommend this location for your state safety inspection! read more

DO NOT come here for a state inspection. They will tell you that your car needs a windshield wiper replacement despite the fact that I just replaced my windshield wipers. They refused to do the inspection unless I purchase a new set of windshield wipers there. I went there a second time for a state inspection with another car (as a test) and again they tell me the same thing that my windshield wipers need replacement since they are "streaking" after they told me to turn on the wipers. My windshield wipers are totally fine. They again refused to do the state inspection unless I purchase a new set of wipers there. This is a total SCAM! Since they tried to scam me on a state inspection both times, I would NOT recommend going here for an oil change either because they will find ways to scam you on an oil change also. read more

Awesome customer service. I called ahead and I believe got their corporate office but was still able to confirm that the inspector is there until 3. Came in a Tuesday afternoon for an inspection and I was greeted immediately and even offered a bottle of cold water. One of the employees did a little pretext with me to check my lights and horn and found one of my brake lights was out. She said this would cause me to fail but I could go ahead and do the inspection to see if anything else needed to be fixed. They allow you to test again for free within 14 days if it fails. After you get the fixes. There were two cars ahead of me so I decided to see if I could go ahead and get the light fixed in the mean time. Inspection is $25.50. read more

I stopped at the Richmond location first since it's closest to my home. I waited outside for ten mins until I gave up. So I came here. Mind you I'm on the way to work. Only one car in the bay next to mine so I thought I could still be in and out. No way. I must say this was a very poor customer service experience. Let me start by saying I needed an oil change and decided to come into this spot last minute. I saw the place had horrible reviews but it was only after I giggled the business. Anyway I pulled in a guy flagged me to pull in so I did. Once I pulled in I received no greeting or anything for TEN minutes. Yes folks ten whole minutes. Now I cracked the window and could get the inappropriate conversation the staff was having personal, cursing, etc. At the ten minutes mark I rolled the window down and asked was anyone going to help me or greet me. He was like yes how can I help you. Now I'm like " oil change"? He then went over prices and I was shocked at the rates. He expressed that currently there was a shortage oil so that would explain the higher prices. What's crazy when I left and called around that was incorrect. Only because I was going out of town and needed the oil change I would have left. A normal look change would have checked ur tires etc. Can you believe the guy asked me my tire pressure? I'm like I have brand new tires he was like then ur tires are good and he NEVER checked them. When I inquired about the sign that says 25% off he stated the sign is wrong. I inquired how was it that you display the discount you no longer offer 25% but you offer me 20percent. Overall I would NEVER EVER return. read more

The place advertises that they are open early. Posted hours say they open at 7 AM. I came here desperate for a last minute oil change at 8 AM, an hour after they are supposed to be open. Poor worker was sitting outside in his car and came up to me to let me know the manager NEVER CAME to open the location. It was still locked up and closed! How terrible to force your employees to sit outside because management can't be bothered to do their jobs. This was on 7/29/21. This is bad for both the employees as well as the customers. I came in for a routine oil change about 7 months ago. Found out today when I went elsewhere to get my oil changed that my drain plug has been stripped. Thanks the the laziness of Kwik Kar. When they changed my oil they obviously didn't do it correctly. I'm now in need of an oil change but unable to get one because the drain plug can't be pulled out. Most likely going to have to replace the oil pan as well as the plug. Do not bring your car here. The work is sub par. Having to deal with all of this is absolutely ridiculous. read more

Ok so my review is literally like everyone else's on here for this business. Me and my partner both came in for an inspection sticker. First they did my partner's car, they came back and said it needed this and this and this to pass the inspection. They ended up charging him nearly $100 for an inspection. My car was next, and I had just gotten an oil change at the dealership a couple days before. My car went a lot faster but they came back saying it needed new wipers. I told him that my car just got out of the dealership for a full oil change and they checked everything including the wipers. The attendant said oh they usually don't check those things and insisted I get them replaced or it wouldn't pass the inspection. He should me where there was a SMALL tear in the blade which I'm determined they caused. I will NEVER bring my car here ever again. I recommend you don't either. read more

I don't even want to give this one star. If there were negative stars, I would give them. I went in to have inspection done, and he performed other checks (which I would normally appreciate). He then brought me out to tell me about my battery being bad, which I am convinced the test is set up that way because my battery is only 6 months old, and that my filters had mold. The owner tricked me into signing a page before and all he told me it was for the battery filters and wiper blades. No prices were on there. Turns out it also had fuel injector and service unit(whatever that is). I asked how it could possibly be that much, he showed me an itemized receipt. They charged me $70 for wiper blades, $50 for the service unit, $100 for the fuel injector, and $24.99 for air filters. I told him I had not given permission for some of that stuff and he held up the paper and said "yes you did." A family friend came over to look at my car, turns out, they did not even service the fuel injector. NEVER GO HERE. read more

I came here for an inspection. They tried to up sell me on a transmission flush and power steering flush. They tried to tell me the power steering fluid was coming out and corroding the engine. What a ridiculous lie. Power steering fluid isn't corrosive nor was it leaking. They did do the inspection quickly at least. read more

The work is just fine and usually fast. However, This place always tries to upsell and give a lot of extra possibly unneeded services. No matter if they change management they always run up the services and don't just give you the service you asked for. They offer you a discount or some treatment for free to make you feel better, but you still spend more than you planned for. You'll never go for an oil change and simply get an oil change without some warning that your car needs a bunch more stuff or it will break down soon. read more

The dudes that work here are very sketchy, rude and dishonest. I showed up 20 minutes before closing last night which all the employees made very apparent they didn't like to work until the advertised closing hours. After a few eye rolls Kenneth reluctantly told me to pull in and I told him I needed to get a full synthetic oil change. He first tries to overcharge me for the oil change but once I started questioning the price all the sudden he was able to apply some "discounts" and then magically the price went down to around $85 pre tax. After this he tries to tell me I need a new air filter and new wiper blades. I knew I did not need either but just to be nice and make him feel good I allow him to replace the air filter. They were very sketchy and rude generally so today I was thinking about it and began to suspect that they just charged me for the filter and didn't actually replace it at all. After stopping by another location today and talking to a manager I found that that's exactly what had happened, and on top of that I was 2 quarts low on oil. I do wish Kenneth luck on his job search though as I am certain he will be fired after this incident... read more

I've been coming to two locations here in the area for a number of years. The staff are very helpful and honest. I've been told of potential issues but have never been pressured to take action. They leave the decision up to me and are willing to take time to explain their reasoning. I highly recommend this team. read more

If I could give this a zero I would. Came in for a simple $20 oil change they advertise for. They told me my car, a 2016 Honda Civic, needed some green grade oil or something for $45. Already eye roll, but okay. They try and sell me a $40 air filter I say no. The real issue came a few days later as I was driving home from work and my Skid plate just FELL OFF on the highway. They need to remove the skip plate to change the oil, and this is a fairly new car so it was 100% their fault, they did not screw the screws in all the way or they didn't screw them in at all. I took it back for them to look at and fix and they tried to tell me I hit something so hard it broke a screwed in metal plate underneath my car when nothing else was bumped or scratched? Of course the plate has been dragging for 10 + miles now and looks banged up! It had been dragging metal on asphalt and creating sparks. Finally they fixed the problem and then REFUSED to give us a refund from the oil change. This place try's to scam you and then doesn't own up to the mistakes they created. I would avoid. I could have gone to Honda for a $50 oil change and this would have never happened. Lesson learned. read more

Took my car here for oil changes multiple times. Come to find out that they had cross-threaded the oil plug and stripped my oil pan and had been using adhesive to seal the plug. The only repair is to replace the entire oil pan for a few hundred dollars. When I confronted the manager about this, insisting he pay for the repair, he shrugged and said he had rethreaded a larger plug in, obviously a bandaid solution for a problem they had caused to begin with. Would not trust these guys with your car, they will cause you more problems than you'll save on an oil change. read more

BE CAREFUL/ POOR SERVICE I went to Kwik Kar to simply get my car inspected. My car was being inspected, and while sitting inside waiting, I notice my trunk pop open and the guys are trying to slam it shut - because it won't close. I walked outside to see what was going on. I was told that my trunk wouldn't close. I asked why it was opened. The manager, Joe, said that he I just opened while trying to open the gas cap. (I have 2 levers inside my car - CLEARLY marked which one is gas and which one is my trunk.) I asked if they typically open trunks to do an inspection. He replied no. He proceeded to try and fix the latch inside of the truck and slam the trunk to close, multiple times in a very aggressive manner. I walked back inside and and watched, while chatting with another customer. A few minutes later, I walked back out because Joe the manager had undone the entire closing mechanism from the truck lid and was fidgeting with it. Screwdrivers, messing with the cable and everything. I asked to speak with the manager, and he was the manager. I then asked to speak to the owner or whoever was over him. He said he just got off the phone with the Regional Manager, which the man who was trying to fix what he broke said the reg mgr did not want to speak to me. I asked why, and he said He just didn't want to. I asked for a name and phone number. He said he couldn't give that out. I told him I just want to have a conversation to figure out what they were going to do to make this right. He said he couldn't give that out. He explained that I needed to complete an incident report. We went inside and told me to complete the incident report. I completed it - I answered the questions which were: What was the incident? What does the customer want? What action is has been taken? while filling out the form, i noticed a phone number on the form: 713-532-0210. I called and got intouch with a secretary. I explained to her what was going on and that I was told by Joe, that the regional manager did not want to speak to me. She said she would have the regional manager call me back as soon as he was available. I finished up my report. Joe reviewed and read the form and said he was going to rewrite the report. I asked why and he said i was only supposed to fill in my contact info. I told him that he said i needed to complete my form and that I wanted my form sent in and I wanted to a copy. He said he couldn't send in my report. He then got very defensive with me in front of 2 other customers. At that point he received a call. I assume it was the regional manager. Once he got off the phone, he said that the reg manager was coming by. One of the customers commented on how contradictory the situation was, that 1st according to Joe, the regional manager didn't want to speak to me, and then 2nd, all of a sudden i was getting a personal visit from the regional manager. I explained all of the above to the Regional Manager, Al Ortego. I asked what he was going to do to make this right. He said that they don't know that they really did anything wrong, it could have been coincidence that it broke, OR that it could have been his guy. He said that I now need to go to a mechanic and get an estimate, AND have the mechanic determine if someone broke the trunk latch system, or if it was wear and tear. The main thing that are bothersome is that Joe took it upon himself to undo the WHOLE latch system from mt trunk lid, like completely detach it. At this point, Kwik Kar is liable. The fact that I have to use my time for the estimates. And can mechanic really determine if the system was damaged by them or if it gave out due to wear and tear. Lastly, I didn't go into detail here about the customer service. it was horrible and I will never go to a Kwik Kar for anything ever again. Please be cautious. They guys damaged the the latch system of my trunk and are giving me a hard time about fixing it. I have never had any problems before with my trunk. In fact, my trunk worked fine the night before because I had to get various items out of the trunk. I feel that Joe the manager felt guilty about the incident which is why he was trying to work so hard to fix it and even dismantle the system inside the trunk. Sign/ omission of guild right there with his actions. read more
