Loved my experience here after a long day of hiking up the mountain. Service was fast and although I didn't order a main entree, the options for the appetizers were light and refreshing. Space was clean and the view was even better. Definitely coming back if I ever find myself in Zurich again! Side note: The pumpkin soup is a must, great if you need something warm to liven you up!

We happened upon it just by looking up restaurants close to our hotel and it wound up being our favorite place we ate in our whole 10 days in Switzerland! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. When you walk up, there are tables and chairs throughout the walkway and then an entire open area of tables off of the outside bar for a fun hangout. The building appears to be an old house turned restaurant and is so beautiful on the outside and so warm and inviting on the inside. The menu had accommodations for everyone - which is so nice as I am a lactose intolerant pescatarian! I got the beetroot and black bean burger both nights I was there and it was to die for!! I ate the entire thing both nights and just wanted more (it was a big burger though)!! I also had a watermelon spritz which was so refreshing! You can tell the owners/workers get to know their regulars as I saw them stopping by tables and chatting - which was just so fun to see! If you're in Zurich, I highly recommend popping by! My only regret was that I never saved room for the brownie dessert!

If you're looking for a phenomenal Sushi/dining experience, look no further. From the atmosphere,…read morethe decor, the staff (and by extension the service), to most importantly the food, everything here is top quality. Traditionally, people tend to stick to what they know when it comes to Japanese cuisine/Sushi restaurant. It took us a long time to choose what to have because there's so many fantastic things on the menu, but our waiter, Equiel, helped us tremendously. Equiel was exceptionally knowledgeable of the menu, had a great personality, and was wonderful in his attention to us. Thank you Equiel! Ultimately we had what amounted to between a quarter to half of the menu and shared between us as a group, and this really gave us the opportunity to try out everything. Make no mistake, everything is fantastic here. You can't go wrong with anything. One piece of advice, stay away from the soy sauce at first. Not because it's bad, but because you simply don't need it. The food here is made in an incredibly flavorful manner where nothing more needs to be added to it. Truly not something you see very often in Sushi restaurants. One primary reason for this, is because most pieces come with Soy Sauce Pearls on them, delivering a perfect balance. At the end of the day this place is not cheap, but in the context of Zurich, it's not crazy expensive either, and far more importantly, it's well worth it, and I'd be happy to come here and the other locations of Kai Sushi many times more in the future. Thank you Kai sushi for a wonderful dinner and I hope to visit again soon! Things to try: Kingfish Ceviche, Hot Cheese Roll, Pulled Salmon Salad, Gyuniku Gyoza, Spider Roll, and naturally, sashimi to your hearts content.

As it was our first time eating raclette, we asked our server to walk us through the menu. Lily was exceedingly helpful in explaining the differences in cheeses and their flavors, and she was also very attentive and checked in on us throughout the meal. I noticed that her welcoming demeanor was also shared by her colleagues who were waiting on the other tables around us. My family took Lily up on her recommendations, and we ordering one Klara and one Willi, each with a side of sausages, as well as one original tarte flambé and one vegi tarte flambée. The food was all very delicious!! My personal highlights from the meal were the sausage dipped in the Willi cheese along with the onions and potatoes that were served with the dish. The tartes also had very thin, yummy crusts topped with raclette cheese. The side of pickles provided a tangy contrast to the rest of the meal which I liked. We ended our meal with a warm chocolate cake and lemon sorbet. I'm not really one for alcohol, so I found the vodka in the sorbet to be a bit too strong for me. However, the chocolate cake with the jam and vanilla ice cream was very good and had just the right amount of chewiness. I wish that I could replace my local Cheesecake Factory with a Raclette Factory instead so that I could enjoy Swiss cheese melted over bread, sausages, and potatoes all the time. Oh well, perhaps it's just another excuse to visit Switzerland again one day :)

We were introduced to raclette by a French friend who even gifted us a heating unit, so we were not expecting to just be served a plate with some bread cubes, 2 potatoes, a couple of pickles & onions, with a bunch of melted cheese on top. Pretty underwhelming. That being said, the food was good. We had plain, garlic, smoke, and white wine cheese - the most noticeable was the white wine. The others were pretty much the same to us. Our waiter was pleasant and the atmosphere... a bit casual and resembling a chain. Pricing? It's Switzerland, so you know you're going to spend some bucks, but comparatively speaking, it was cheap (ER).

The inside is beautifully lit from large windows surrounding the dining area, and the people working here are very polite and friendly. I had a salad with vegetarian crepes. The salads from Swiss restaurants are always so fun. They've usually got sweet little helpings of beets, carrots, sauerkraut, and multiple other things hidden under a comfy bed of lettuce. Yeah, I just called it comfy lettuce... lettuce can be comfy in super nice restaurants. Anyway, I thought the vegetarian crepes would be light, but boy was I wrong. The two crepes had a fluffy and amazing texture, and were packed full of mushrooms and other vegetables covered in a savory, heavy cream sauce. They were absolutely delicious, but perhaps a bit too heavy for me. My boyfriend ordered the Zürigschnetzletes (a typical dish from Zurich, with beef in a savory brown sauce accompanied by a potato side similar to hash browns). Again, it was delicious and super heavy. The portion is also quite unbelievable... it could have easily fed two people. This is something I will continue not to understand, because I'm pretty sure it's rude to share one entree with two people, and you're also not allowed to take it home. And there are fewer fat people in Switzerland than there are in the states... so I doubt everyone is finishing their meal. And then it's thrown away... what? So anyway, I'm done with my rant. The food was delicious and the waitstaff was very friendly. I had a wonderful time. We decided to eat at Vapiano, it was pretty busy and the wait was longish. I decided to get a Poke Bowl with cooked salmon in soy sauce and assorted sides : edamame, avocado, wakame salad and mango topped with red bird eye chili in a bed of quinoa (€ 25,50) - I can't get over how expensive food in Zurich is -- 30 bucks for a food court meal !!! I did like my Poke Bowl - it was solid - light, fresh and pretty delicious BUT pricey and didn't blow my mind. What made the meal "priceless" for me is sitting by the river and eating the meal with colleagues. Gave me some time to de-stress after long meetings and being stuck inside the office. Will I eat here again - absolutely for the convenience of location and the huge selection -- I would still struggle with a sticker shock on food prices.
