We happened upon it just by looking up restaurants close to our hotel and it wound up being our favorite place we ate in our whole 10 days in Switzerland! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. When you walk up, there are tables and chairs throughout the walkway and then an entire open area of tables off of the outside bar for a fun hangout. The building appears to be an old house turned restaurant and is so beautiful on the outside and so warm and inviting on the inside. The menu had accommodations for everyone - which is so nice as I am a lactose intolerant pescatarian! I got the beetroot and black bean burger both nights I was there and it was to die for!! I ate the entire thing both nights and just wanted more (it was a big burger though)!! I also had a watermelon spritz which was so refreshing! You can tell the owners/workers get to know their regulars as I saw them stopping by tables and chatting - which was just so fun to see! If you're in Zurich, I highly recommend popping by! My only regret was that I never saved room for the brownie dessert!

The buffalo wings were tasty and quite spicy, so if you don't enjoy a higher spice level... this wouldn't be for you. The service was great and our server answered our questions and was so kind to our doggy companion! I would definitely come back to enjoy this spot again.

The popular Wiedikerli dish was pan fried sausage with lean pork, served with savory gravy with a side of Rosti. This was a 10/10 last meal that made my last night. The dessert was mostly okay, basic but I won't discount the main course and the delicious local swiss beer on tap! Looking forward to coming back one day!

Yelp Review 2026 #48:…read more Housed in an old armory, Zeughauskeller is a popular restaurant for mostly tourists. It does get pretty busy so, reserving a table would be the smart thing to do. Unless, you walk in during odd hours. Swiss food is not popular for being tasty and having bold flavors. Unless you intend to just eat cheese and chocolate, Swiss food is rather forgettable. Highly influenced by German cuisine, expect things like wienerschnitzel, bratwurst, pork shank, etc. Sausage with Potato Saiad: All their sausage is served with potato salad but you can sub it out with French fries or rosti. The sausage was nice. The potato salad was surprisingly good. 4/5 Cordon Bleu: You get a choice between veal and pork. I chose pork. The description on their menu says "tender pork escalope, filled with ham and SPICY Gruyère cheese, fried crispy". There was no spice at all. LOL. The ham was probably 2 thin slices. There are other Swiss restaurants in Zurich that makes better cordon Bleu. 3/5 The service was quite slow. We waited for our server to come over. They sent the only English-speaking server to handle like 7 tables. It's definitely a one and done. Come here for the vibes, not for the food.

If you're looking for a phenomenal Sushi/dining experience, look no further. From the atmosphere,…read morethe decor, the staff (and by extension the service), to most importantly the food, everything here is top quality. Traditionally, people tend to stick to what they know when it comes to Japanese cuisine/Sushi restaurant. It took us a long time to choose what to have because there's so many fantastic things on the menu, but our waiter, Equiel, helped us tremendously. Equiel was exceptionally knowledgeable of the menu, had a great personality, and was wonderful in his attention to us. Thank you Equiel! Ultimately we had what amounted to between a quarter to half of the menu and shared between us as a group, and this really gave us the opportunity to try out everything. Make no mistake, everything is fantastic here. You can't go wrong with anything. One piece of advice, stay away from the soy sauce at first. Not because it's bad, but because you simply don't need it. The food here is made in an incredibly flavorful manner where nothing more needs to be added to it. Truly not something you see very often in Sushi restaurants. One primary reason for this, is because most pieces come with Soy Sauce Pearls on them, delivering a perfect balance. At the end of the day this place is not cheap, but in the context of Zurich, it's not crazy expensive either, and far more importantly, it's well worth it, and I'd be happy to come here and the other locations of Kai Sushi many times more in the future. Thank you Kai sushi for a wonderful dinner and I hope to visit again soon! Things to try: Kingfish Ceviche, Hot Cheese Roll, Pulled Salmon Salad, Gyuniku Gyoza, Spider Roll, and naturally, sashimi to your hearts content.

As it was our first time eating raclette, we asked our server to walk us through the menu. Lily was exceedingly helpful in explaining the differences in cheeses and their flavors, and she was also very attentive and checked in on us throughout the meal. I noticed that her welcoming demeanor was also shared by her colleagues who were waiting on the other tables around us. My family took Lily up on her recommendations, and we ordering one Klara and one Willi, each with a side of sausages, as well as one original tarte flambé and one vegi tarte flambée. The food was all very delicious!! My personal highlights from the meal were the sausage dipped in the Willi cheese along with the onions and potatoes that were served with the dish. The tartes also had very thin, yummy crusts topped with raclette cheese. The side of pickles provided a tangy contrast to the rest of the meal which I liked. We ended our meal with a warm chocolate cake and lemon sorbet. I'm not really one for alcohol, so I found the vodka in the sorbet to be a bit too strong for me. However, the chocolate cake with the jam and vanilla ice cream was very good and had just the right amount of chewiness. I wish that I could replace my local Cheesecake Factory with a Raclette Factory instead so that I could enjoy Swiss cheese melted over bread, sausages, and potatoes all the time. Oh well, perhaps it's just another excuse to visit Switzerland again one day :)

"I'll eat takeout food by the river any day."…read more Our offices were by the food courts by the river and we went to this food court to save time and grab a quick bite for lunch. We decided to eat at Vapiano, it was pretty busy and the wait was longish. I decided to get a Poke Bowl with cooked salmon in soy sauce and assorted sides : edamame, avocado, wakame salad and mango topped with red bird eye chili in a bed of quinoa (€ 25,50) - I can't get over how expensive food in Zurich is -- 30 bucks for a food court meal !!! I did like my Poke Bowl - it was solid - light, fresh and pretty delicious BUT pricey and didn't blow my mind. What made the meal "priceless" for me is sitting by the river and eating the meal with colleagues. Gave me some time to de-stress after long meetings and being stuck inside the office. Will I eat here again - absolutely for the convenience of location and the huge selection -- I would still struggle with a sticker shock on food prices.

It's was ok, but nothing to rave about. I've been to Ginger once before, too, but I don't know if the sushi there lived up to the hype, either. Perhaps I was expecting too much. Or I was having indigestion from freaking out at the high (but typical) Zürich prices. Anyway, the highlight of my meal was trying something new called Daifuku--which turned out to be a mislabeled Sakuramochi. It was cute and pink and covered with a leaf of sakura (cherry blossom). And yummy, too! :)

An off-the-beaten track sushi place which produces wholesale sushi must be good right?…read more The premise of Shinsen sounded good but the food offering sadly felt flat. I came here on a Saturday evening after 8 pm, it is just a few streets away from Sihlcity but it is in a residential area where you typically wouldn't go so I wasn't too surprised that they only had three other tables since it was already on the later side. After a quick glance on the relatively long menu, I went for the Yamakake, the salmon sashimi and a Sapporo beer. The Yamakake was listed under the warm dishes and described as a rice bowl with raw tuna cubes and a poached egg. I am not sure why it was listed as a warm dish because all elements were icy cold. Now I obviously understand that the raw tuna is cold but the rice and egg were fridge temperature. This dish would have been so much better if the rice and egg would have been at least luke warm. The salmon sashimi was also a bit of a miss. The salmon tasted fresh and of decent quality but the slices were about 1/3 inch thick. Yup the slices were too thick for my taste. Overall, I would say that both dishes disappointed, they were not disgusting but overall missed the mark. The price was ok for sushi in Zurich but I can find much better alternatives here at this price level. The service was quick and correct but nothing too special either so I won't be returning to Shinshen soon.
