I also want to point out that the matcha chiffon cake was a big hit, even for people like me who are typically not big on desserts. I must also admit that our waiter seemed to mellow up once we ordered food and drinks, he was very happy to give us recommendations of Japanese whiskey to finish our meal and the manager gave us free shots to end the evening - so I guess the initial awkwardness disappeared. Equiel was exceptionally knowledgeable of the menu, had a great personality, and was wonderful in his attention to us. Thank you Equiel! Make no mistake, everything is fantastic here. You can't go wrong with anything. One piece of advice, stay away from the soy sauce at first. Not because it's bad, but because you simply don't need it. The food here is made in an incredibly flavorful manner where nothing more needs to be added to it. Truly not something you see very often in Sushi restaurants. One primary reason for this, is because most pieces come with Soy Sauce Pearls on them, delivering a perfect balance. At the end of the day this place is not cheap, but in the context of Zurich, it's not crazy expensive either, and far more importantly, it's well worth it, and I'd be happy to come here and the other locations of Kai Sushi many times more in the future.
