Never again. Felt jipped and felt scammed. I went there in 2024 on my own and it was great, fantastic even. I was ready to write a 5 star review. I suggested that we go when my wife needed her emissions test done this year. I went with her and it was the same drill, we got there, they took the car keys, charged $45 and had it done quickly, and said the lady working with us said they'd mail us the sticker. Since that was the way it had gone for me I thought nothing of it. We never got that sticker. My wife has a ticket now because her car didn't have it on the license plate. She called the place on the phone and a condescending man claimed that she needed to pay an additional fee for the sticker, which already sounds like we're getting scammed, but then they move into the entirely audacious. She went back to the place and rather than a.) give her a sticker we paid for the first time or b.) letting her have a sticker for $10, the exact same lady who said she would mail us a sticker claimed that my wife needed to pay another $90 in DMV fees that they didn't bother to inform us on the first time, denying ever claiming they would send us a sticker. We're never going back again. read more

I'm super impressed with the service and speed of this place! My emissions test was done before I finished writing this review ( literally wrote the last sentence and they came me)!! The inside is nice and has a fireplace. So it feels inviting and enticing! They have a small TV so you can watch whatever is playing while you wait. The staff was very friendly and personable. The guy who helped me says he has been doing this for 15 years which is amazing. He says they have a great system down and know what they are doing efficiently. I will totally come here again and again because of their speed. Other places usually take like an hour. read more

I honestly don't know why anyone would go anywhere else. There is never a line, literally in a decade of coming here, I don't remember ever having to wait more than a minute or two no matter what time of day I go. They work fast, you're in an out in like 10 minutes. They're centrally located so it saves you a trip to the DMV. The office is clean, the people are polite, they'll even put your new license plate sticker on for you. They make a chore that I dread easy and pleasant, for that I'd give them 6 stars if I could. read more

Costs 45 bucks, plus they charge you more if you use a credit card. Safety inspection is another 30. They don't post their prices on their website. They just tell you to call. Apparently the average cost is 25 bucks, though, so this is a bit of a bad deal. On the positive side, they have 2 bays, so it was pretty quick to roll right in. These guys are quick. It was less than five minutes for each of my cars. It's $30 for emissions and $15 for safety. They charge a $10 fee to renew, and put the sticker on for you. I'll be coming back each year. I like this place because they don't do any repairs. So no incentive to find repairs to be done. read more

Been using my guys at Utah Safety Emissions Testing since we moved to Utah 4 years ago. They do a fantastic job! If they have closing hours I don't know about it; every time I drop by they're open, no line, just in and out and I'm done. They don't take checks and they charge a little extra for a credit card, so hand'em cash or swipe your debit and off you go to the DMV. It was that time of year again to have my car go through safety and emissions! I'm such a huge procrastinator my car had expired in October 10/17 and so I was basically traveling my vehicle illegal... My coworkers and I were talking and laughing how all our cars were expired and how we had to take the back roads to get to work. Well one of my coworkers came here and did her safety, emission, and registration! She told me the next day how fast it was and saved her time. I decided that I was gonna come here and get done everything instead of going to the DMV. When I arrived to my surprise it wasn't busy. I proceeded to the door and I was welcome by a young man and woman. I told them what I needed. He explained to me how much safely, emissions and registration would be. He did say that they do charge a $10 fee for the registration. There a little paper on the counter they will say you to check off to see what you want done. THIS IS NOT A MECHANIC SHOP! Once I filled out the paper and signed it they told me I wouldn't have to do safely just emissions and registration. I believe safety is $15, Emissions $30 and registration depends on the make and year. Anyway I was expecting the wait to be kind long. I wasn't EVEN five minutes and the guy walked in and told me that my car was READY!! I was so shocked and surprised! My car registration was $211 since I drive a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The total of everything was $251! I honestly didn't care about the $10 fee. Also the guy puts the sticker on your care so you won't have too. All u do is get back into your car and drive off! I would definitely recommend this place to my family and friends. I'm coming back to this place next year!! read more

Went in at noon on a Monday and was probably in and out of the place with my passed emissions in 6 or 7 minutes. Incredible.

I have been going to USET for over a decade. They have always been very fast, friendly and helpful. Jackie (the owner?) is very experienced. She has seen it all and offers great service and advice. The shop is great because they only do emissions and inspections. They won't try to sell you additional services that you don't want or need. I also really like the big windows between the waiting area and the shop. There's no mystery; you can see everything they do as they perform the tests. read more

If you want your Safety and Emissions Testing done quickly and done right, this is THE place to go in Provo. Service is fast, first come first served with no appointment. Staff was friendly and helpful. I brought in two cars on a Friday morning and each was done within 10 minutes. The best part about this place is that this is ALL they do -- so there's no conflict of interest up-selling you on "repairs" that suddenly appeared during the inspection. They also have a stock of tail lights and will do a replacement for you, which can be a time saver if you only have a bulb or two to replace. They can also do your registration renewal onsite for $10 and save you a trip to the DMV. In short, fast, easy, professional and friendly, no conflict of interest for a low stress experience. They are looking to fail you and when they do they're not very nice about it. Also, they were more expensive than most places. If you go to an auto shop they will actually be able to help you with whatever kept your car from passing. read more

I downloaded yelp for only one reason, to review this place. I went in about a year ago and I haven't written this review mainly because I felt like being the bigger person and just leaving it be. However, I don't want what happened to me happen to someone else. I went in the first time and I talked to a lady she was polite and straight to the point I needed to fix some things before I could register my car. I did just that and returned to register the car. I walk in and the first thing the mechanic said to me was "Are you here to get your legal papers" he laughed and turned to the other mechanic who also laughed.
