This is "my" post office, which compared to some is pretty good. Big & clean with a decent size parking lot. Things can get slow here so its best to come early on the weekends or, better yet, use the Automated Postal Center just ahead of you at the front door. I do have an issue with one of the employees though. He is very nice, but I hate getting him when in line to take my packages and mail. I do a fair amount of Ebaying so I am in there relatively often. But whenever I get this guy he looks at the return address, says my last name and then says "Oh, you're French!" Me: "No, I'm not. That's an Italian last name." Him: "Oh, but it means 'powerful royalty' in French." Me: "I don't know about that, but trust me, I am not French." Him: "It sure sounds French." Him: "(rolls my name around in his mouth while looking off in a reflective manner) - oh yeah, definitely French." Him: "I have a sister who married a French guy." Him: "That French last name of yours is a popular term in France you know." Him: "I think the French language is a very fascinating one, don't you?" We have this EXACT SAME conversation EVERY TIME I go in there. Seriously man, WTF! Can't a girl just mail a package!

It's very unhappy people work here, they are rude literally for no reason. Just go any another location if you don't want to ruin your day.

The worse office in the city, the staff is rude. They were watching videos on their phone then helping out customers.

I was lucky enough to have one decent experience with a worker, but it doesn't make up for the amount of times I've had a negative experience. I made my appt. for a passport at 12 pm on a Monday and was not taken until about 2:15 pm because the woman who handles this at this office didn't arrive till about 1:30 pm. Not to mention that I had made a passport appointment the previous week, but it was cancelled about 45 minutes before I was scheduled to be there. If the front desk worker goes on break, there is no one to cover the shift so the waiting line just gets longer and longer. It's just poorly run overall.

I waited a bit, she looked at me for a few seconds and said "You ready". It devolved from there. Pathetic little ego behind the counter- mouthy and self-righteous. WHO IS IN CHARGE OVER THERE? This would not fly in the real world. I definitely got a tracking slip while there and would not trust her. Edit- after looking at all the negative reviews, I can't believe that all the employees are as socially maladjusted as this person- photo attached from another review. Just an awful person unfortunately.

I had a shitty experience at the post office in Park Ridge. Yay…read more I was driving by and thought I should stop and submit a change of address form I'd been driving around with for weeks whilst I was thinking about it. I'd started filling it out when I got it, but you had to drop it off in person with ID so I decided I'd come back since I was in a hurry at that time. When I came to turn it in on this day, the woman said I did it wrong because the address of when I wanted the mail to be rerouted (around the date I moved) didn't match the date I'd signed the document (which I signed just before entering). Nowhere on the form do I see anything about it requiring the dates to match--in fact, that makes very little sense, since someone might submit a change of address two or three weeks before they actually want the change to take effect since it can take that long for the mail to be diverted. So she made me get out of line to complete another form, which wasn't particularly easy whilst holding a one year old and completing it one-handed. On top of that, why is it just a given that the post office sucks? I mean, I promise that if visiting the USPS wasn't worse than getting your teeth extracted that they wouldn't be bleeding money the way they are. I avoid the post office like I avoid COVID. I thought that the post office was one of the federal government's handful of PBOs (performance based organization) but there's no way given how customer service seems to be of the lowest concern to them. The post office building is nice and fancy, and the parking lot is confusing (a lot of it is one way, which I wouldn't expect with a larger parking lot like this). But like most post offices, just gird your loins upon entering.

I have gone in to speak with the supervisor with a handful of mail for the entire building just stashed in the magazine slot (or sometimes strewed out on the floor) but that hasn't helped. I'm trying to give the carrier who's doing this the benefit of the doubt but it's happening over and over and over again. I clear out my box daily and timely so I'm not understanding why my mail isn't in my empty box? I work for usps so I get important work related mail, in addition to bills and checks that can be compromised if in the wrong hands. What's the point of having a mailbox if you're just going to put the mail wherever you feel on any given day? I finally sealed off the magazine rack and hopefully now our mail will be put inside our boxes. But given the crummy morale of whatever associate is doing this, I won't be surprised to find all of our mail thrown on the floor or just not delivered at all. I do your job, it ain't that hard! I've never seen this lady before and she said they don't have them and I told here where they were, she said they're not for sale. I'm thinking what that even means because what is the packaging there for then? She tells me whoever gave it to me before was not doing what they were supposed to do because they have no free packaging. I still asked can I purchase it? She said they're not for sale I need to buy bubble wrap or different packaging. It was for a purse... a small leather one already used because I'm a reseller. She's asking if it's a return and if it has a prepaid label which I already told her what I was there for. Clearly not listening to me and not willing to help the customer. I go there all the time to drop off packages with my own packaging for this reason. Today I just wanted a different packaging because I didn't want to use something so big for this item and overall I wasted a whole trip there because she couldn't accommodate what I was asking for. I will be going back with a big box for this small item because of her inconvenience!

As for this location it was my lifesaver because it was the only one open in route to my job, which made it convenient for me on a long workday. I have to say that out of the many post offices that I have visited throughout Chicago/Chicagoland this one was by far the cleanest, and classiest as far as its inner interior. I held back on sharing too many pictures because some post offices aren't too fond of it, so I'm pretty sneaky when it comes to snapping pictures.
