The old angry, disrespectful, condescending woman, at the 7100 W. Gunnison post office. They should all have name tags and be FRIENDLY!!!!

The rudest employees at tge front desk. Thursday, February 26, 2926 at 4:00 pm i visited with two packages. The old lady, without a nametag became outraged because I questioned that I had never been asked to place my package on the scale, after much back and forth, I asked for her name and then REFUSED TO TAKE MY PACKAGES!!! She said she would NOT TAKE MY PACKAGES!!!! THIS IS THE WORST POST OFFICE IN CHICAGO. THE EMPLOYEES ARE RUDE, CONDESCENDING, ANGRY, ETC. I filed a complaint against her, not that it will do any good. They are not friendly and have a disgusted look on their faces. Get rid of all of them, and hire courteous and respectful people! I gave it one star, but there was none for AWFUL SERVICE. LRyan

I had a shitty experience at the post office in Park Ridge. Yay…read more I was driving by and thought I should stop and submit a change of address form I'd been driving around with for weeks whilst I was thinking about it. I'd started filling it out when I got it, but you had to drop it off in person with ID so I decided I'd come back since I was in a hurry at that time. When I came to turn it in on this day, the woman said I did it wrong because the address of when I wanted the mail to be rerouted (around the date I moved) didn't match the date I'd signed the document (which I signed just before entering). Nowhere on the form do I see anything about it requiring the dates to match--in fact, that makes very little sense, since someone might submit a change of address two or three weeks before they actually want the change to take effect since it can take that long for the mail to be diverted. So she made me get out of line to complete another form, which wasn't particularly easy whilst holding a one year old and completing it one-handed. On top of that, why is it just a given that the post office sucks? I mean, I promise that if visiting the USPS wasn't worse than getting your teeth extracted that they wouldn't be bleeding money the way they are. I avoid the post office like I avoid COVID. I thought that the post office was one of the federal government's handful of PBOs (performance based organization) but there's no way given how customer service seems to be of the lowest concern to them. The post office building is nice and fancy, and the parking lot is confusing (a lot of it is one way, which I wouldn't expect with a larger parking lot like this). But like most post offices, just gird your loins upon entering.

I have gone in to speak with the supervisor with a handful of mail for the entire building just stashed in the magazine slot (or sometimes strewed out on the floor) but that hasn't helped. I've put a sign on my box kindly asking for the carriers to put MY mail inside MY box. But my mail still winds up stashed in the magazine slot for the building along with everyone else's mail. I'm trying to give the carrier who's doing this the benefit of the doubt but it's happening over and over and over again. I clear out my box daily and timely so I'm not understanding why my mail isn't in my empty box? I work for usps so I get important work related mail, in addition to bills and checks that can be compromised if in the wrong hands. What's the point of having a mailbox if you're just going to put the mail wherever you feel on any given day? I finally sealed off the magazine rack and hopefully now our mail will be put inside our boxes. But given the crummy morale of whatever associate is doing this, I won't be surprised to find all of our mail thrown on the floor or just not delivered at all. I do your job, it ain't that hard! Get it together!

Today I had a prepaid label and wanted one of the plastic bags with a seal to ship this. Which I seen someone else had used and i have received one of those for free prior from the other associate. I've never seen this lady before and she said they don't have them and I told here where they were, she said they're not for sale. I'm thinking what that even means because what is the packaging there for then? She tells me whoever gave it to me before was not doing what they were supposed to do because they have no free packaging. I still asked can I purchase it? She said they're not for sale I need to buy bubble wrap or different packaging. It was for a purse... a small leather one already used because I'm a reseller. She's asking if it's a return and if it has a prepaid label which I already told her what I was there for. Clearly not listening to me and not willing to help the customer. I go there all the time to drop off packages with my own packaging for this reason. Today I just wanted a different packaging because I didn't want to use something so big for this item and overall I wasted a whole trip there because she couldn't accommodate what I was asking for. I will be going back with a big box for this small item because of her inconvenience!

And all seem to have crap reviews by bitter customers for God knows what inner reason, and this location was no different as for reviews. As for this location it was my lifesaver because it was the only one open in route to my job, which made it convenient for me on a long workday. I have to say that out of the many post offices that I have visited throughout Chicago/Chicagoland this one was by far the cleanest, and classiest as far as its inner interior. I held back on sharing too many pictures because some post offices aren't too fond of it, so I'm pretty sneaky when it comes to snapping pictures. As for my experience it was positive unlike many other reviewers that have visited this location, however, I will return based off of how quickly my package arrives to its destination or if it does make it to its destination.
