If I could leave 0 stars I would. The parking lot is already a nightmare and inside always has long waits. But today I stopped by in the morning before work to drop off two packages that I had QR codes for. Used the self kiosk since there was only one person in line there and the normal line had about 10 people. Printed my postage and put them on my package, got my receipt, all good to go. Went to drop off my packages in the package drop off bin but it was locked so went over to the counter to ask where I could leave the packages and the counter lady told me to get in line. I told her I used the kiosk, my packages are good to go but the bin is locked I just need to set the packages down. And she told me that she did not care and I have to get in line to hand them to her. I have been going to USPS for years, multiple locations, even in different states, and have NEVER been told I have to get in line to HAND a package to a clerk when the package already has the postage and everything on it AND I had my receipt. I am not waiting in a 30 minute line with 10 people ahead of me to do that. Either unlock the bin or have a counter reserved for drop offs like EVERY other USPS office has. And besides the fact, SHE could've been more respectful too. Will never go to this location again. I went to a different USPS right after this situation and dropped them off at the counter they have designated for drop offs, and walked out. No waiting in line. read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would give it 0. Absolutely AWFUL service, I do not understand how this place has not been shut down and replaced yet. They do not pick up the phone. Ever. Not once in the dozens upon dozens of times I have tried to call them has anyone ever picked up, and going there in person is no better. I have lost hundreds of dollars worth of packages that have failed to be delivered or notified, that have been held hostage right in front of me after waiting in line for 20+ minutes and then having to leave without them because of the lack of cooperation or even the slightest semblance of empathy or critical thinking from the employees. They have kept packages for months that both me and sellers have lost money on. They return to sender without sending any emails or calls, and the few times they have left paper notices, they DID NOT attempt to deliver the package, they JUST left the paper. I had a seller tell me TWO MONTHS after a delivery was meant to happen that it was bounced back to them WITH MY NAME AND ADDRESS SCRIBBLED OUT. What kind of training is being done here? I work with USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL for my job every day and I have never in my entire life EVER seen a post office or postal workers function as horrendously as this one. Makes me want to never purchase anything online while living in Allen. Genuinely disgraceful. read more

Have tried to call Allen Post Office for the past 2 days...........not once was the phone answered after multiple calls. I request stop mail last week for May 1-7th. Our mail was delivered every day we were gone! Thank goodness a great neighbor checked for us every day and was able to take our mail out of mailbox! This type of service is beyond belief!!!!!!!!!! This is a long-overdue update on my original review. Wow, have things gone downhill and clouds cleared regarding the new post office in Allen Texas since opening just over a year ago. In the sake of brevity ill bottom line it. I know the USPS has been in constant financial straits forever. A quasi-governmental body that really does an astonishing job at getting mail delivered to everyone's home and business 5 days a week! Awesome. However, the cracks just keep getting wider dont they. someday the whole thing will slip through that crack and then what? A disturbing example of the beginning of the end is the landscape at this location. Ive noticed since greening of spring the grass,shrubs,trees,weeds havent been trimmined. Well, until recently when someone evidently did a few minor things but. The majority of the place is pathetic and embarrassing. As a customer and taxpayer I'm insulted that 5-6foot weeds are covering a USPS sign less than two years old!!! In addition, the design flow of traffic at the new facility must have been done by a kindergartener. If you use this post office you know what I mean. It seems the 100 or so employees that work out of here could get the yard done in spite of the reason ,of which I'm ignorant. Think about it. Buy a mower,put it in back and take turns. The Allen Post office is poorly ran and needs to have the house cleaned from the top down. I run an Ebay store online and ship out from my home. My delivery postal worker is a joy to work with and excellent at his job. However, the substitute delivery workers are horrible. They do not take the packages when the flag is clearly up and if they do take the packages, they do not scan the packages as being picked up. This makes my shipping off and if lost, I have no way of proving I met the requirements to keep my Ebay packages on time. To add to the frustration, my mailbox is left open and my mail was not left in the box. I know I have mail as I get a daily update from USPS as to what is being delivered. I have complained and I was asked to call if service continued to be unsatisfactory. I called today and the woman who answered was rude. She did not give me her name and I asked her three times before she gave it to me. She would only say "How can I help you" with a frustrated and short tone in her voice. I asked to talk to the USPS man who had previously called me to let him know the poor service had continued from the fill in postal worker. She said he would be in tomorrow. I asked his name and she did not want to give to me. This lady is horrible at her job and should lose it. Who is in charge at this post office and why are they allowed to be so ineffective and rude? This is an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed by the Area Supervisors. I will be filing a formal complaint with them after finishing this review. read more

The Post Office has a horrible design. Post offices in Plano and McKinney have a smoother plan for parking and drop off. We need another drop off box since Allen's is completely full. The parking lot is a disaster!! Make it one way!! And make the lines at a slant so it's easier to park. read more

I was delighted to see that Allen Texas finally has a new post office, I think we were due. I found the new location while looking for the old location, and when I pulled up was surprised to see a beautiful building with a lot of parking. I love updates on government type services such as post office, it shows my tax dollars going to work. There is better line distribution, more space, and a more convenient and easier location to get to and access. I love the attitudes of the people in the post office, and I feel like it's even faster. This post office is so horrible and rude to the customers. They make up their own rules and policy as they go. There is a tiny post card in handwriting taped to the counter that says 10 items per customer. 1 customer per transaction. Anything more you must enter the line again. What kind of garbage is that. If my labels are made and I just need them scanned in and a receipt. The made up rule still applies! This is ridiculous. This post office does not like business or their customers. They close the partition early before they close to prevent you from dropping off your packages. When it was at the previous location it was so pleasant and never had issues. What happened and who is running the place because it has gone to crap. Holidays are coming and you are limited to the amount of packages you have and have to get in line multiple times. Made up and just trying to make customers and small businesses go elsewhere. No wonder the USPS is going under. read more

I went to pick up my package this morning. The door for parcel pick up was closed and the doorbell was broken. I knocked the door for while and no response. I waited for about 10 minutes and door opened . I gave her my notes the deliver person left on my door and she took it and closed the door. About 10 minutes late, she came back and told my that she couldn't find my package. She told me she will call me when she found it. That means I have to go there again. I needed to return an envelope package that had not been taped but instead of using the roll of tape they had beside them, I was informed I would have to buy a whole roll to use a piece to tape my envelope closed. Very poor customer service. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service on Tue September 6 2022. I am disabled and asked the black lady at desk help me open a US Postal Clear Tape bought from a Plano post office.The lady would not give her name. And told me not help me or back in line. Told her I need stamp I not helping me go back in line. I asked her name not give her. I said I want speak her supervisor. Walked away and I did call her a name because she was RUDE! Took awhile two Black Women Supervisors came in very nasty you can't bring a bag with a postal tape in it. They all 3 rude. Why can you not have another outside postal drop at this new location? This was a problem at the old location. There are more people who are putting their mail in the drop offs. I have filled out 3 change of address requests. As executor of a trust, I have sold the house that the mail was delivered to. I have sent a request to the Inspector General and it seems that for a week I did receive his mail. Now for the last three weeks I have not received mail. They are not receiving mail at the original address for him... Where is it going. He was receiving several important documents per week, now none. Sent a package overseas on 06/08/21. The clerk provided me a of lot of false and misleading information regarding mailing international packages. The representative lady told me about an "amazing insurance protection", I paid extra for shipping and everything seemed almost perfect! After my package being unluckily held I customs for over a month, my nightmare began. Several calls to the general customer service phone number, very long waiting time, representatives extremely RUDE, nobody takes ownership for anything! Also, every customer service representative will give a different information about tracking and procedures and "deadline to further assist you/investigate the case". Bottomline, if you ever have to use the USPS services for a international package, do not count on the representativesinformation...specially if you are sending something valuable. Do not count on their insurance/refund in case the package is not delivered and I highly advise you to not to use the USPS Priority Mail Express International. Do not count on their ETA for delivery either...it will be way off! read more
