Most helpful drugstore around!…read more Spencer Drug was the only place that had availability of the 2013 flu vaccine (see pic) in Nottoway County while most of the state was sold-out, (the strains selected for inclusion in the 2012-2013 flu vaccines are: A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)-like virus A/Victoria/361/2011 (H3N2)-like virus B/Wisconsin/1/2010-like virus) so I was really stoked that Spencer's drug was able to help prepare me for flu season. Fast, friendly, communicated effectively and very affordable. The Pharmacist is most informed and very pleasant. Love Spencer Drug in Blackstone!

Gerald from Truly Grateful Transports is the absolute most amazing person I have ever done business…read morewith. I live in MD and Last minute on the day of a dear friends mothers funeral I realized I hadn't sent the memorial gift that I had wanted to send him due to my busy schedule and being under the weather! I was calling all the local florist in the area and none would deliver the day of. Also some of the so called big names wanted to charge me an arm and a leg plus they could not guarantee an on time delivery time. Last minute I thought to google couriers to see if I would have any luck. Gerald answered on the other line very bubbly and bright mind you it was before 8 am on a Saturday. Not only did he agree to assist me, he recommended a great florist, he also gave me ideas on how to package it the exact way I wanted to do it. Then he communicated to me several times make sure I was able to get everything squared away. As we only had a small window of about 2 hours get everything done before the florist closed. Then he went and picked up everything from the florist and another store. He sent photos of everything in his office and sat and baby sat the package, for a few hours, as the place to be delivered wouldn't open until 2 pm. He delivered the package before the family arrived and viola he made me look like the good friend that I am without a hitch. His prices were way more reasonable than the big wigs so of course I left a tip. His customer service and courtesy was amazing. His knowledge of the area and recommendations were spot on. He was trusting and eased all of my worries by answering all of my questions and more. As another small business owner to another I really appreciate you for being there in my time of need. Keep up the great work Gerald, you are definitely a rare breed. Best, Hollie

Lawrenceville was once a thriving town; founded in 1814 and named after a famous racehorse, it is…read moresadly, now dotted with abandoned homes and businesses. There's still some life here though, it holds many historical sites such as the Gholson Bridge and Fort Christanna. The "downtown" historic area on Main Street is undergoing several facelift projects and hopefully will add to the value of this small town, once bustling with tobacco and cotton industries. The town sponsors several events throughout the year, seasonal parades and celebrations, Brunswick Stew festival, and Farmer's Market days. With all the historically preserved architectural buildings here, you'd expect to find a quaint old fashioned post office. Maybe at one time there was such a building, but now the post office is a squatty long brick building with little curb appeal. This building in low! The windows are touching the roof. It's certainly not an attractive government facility, but it gets the job done! The hours are 8:30-5:00 M-F, 9:30-11:00 Sat. They have regular mail services, P.O. Boxes, money order services, but no passport service at this location. It was pretty clean and well-stocked with shipping supplies. There was also a greeting card and stationery rack. Like many of these small town post offices, it could use an update!

They were clean, spacious, and had all the amenities of a normal bathroom, you really had no idea you were in a portable bathroom until you stepped out! They came stocked with soap and paper towels and were even decorated with picture frames and plastic plants. Even though, I'm raving about the appearance of the trailers, the customer service was by far the most amazing aspect. I believe it's a family owned business so they were super attentive and accommodating to my schedule. We only needed it for Saturday but got it on Thursday to be picked up Monday, one less thing to think about! The representative who dropped it off was incredibly friendly, even came back after leaving just to move the trailer because we changed our minds about the location. He made sure the water and electricity was running properly and made sure we knew where everything was before he left. Would highly recommend this service for any events! Totally worth it.

The wood interior was magnificent and the New Deal mural was outstanding! The brass mailboxes and vintage fixtures fit right in with this classic style. There's a hidden plaque, behind some bushes in the front of the building, paying homage to James Farley, the postmaster in 1938. Be sure to check out the LOVE sign made from peanut shells! This could have been 5 stars however the workers here knew nothing about the place and seemed clueless. Not very friendly or helpful. The bushes were overgrown! Several business owners told me they only get their mail twice a week. Kick it up a notch to make this post office stellar! Hours M-F 8:30-5 Saturday 10-12
