Feels interesting to review a post office, ha. I've went to this location often (25+ times or…read moremore), so take it for what it's worth. Location and parking are good with no issues; it does get busy but have enough space to handle the volume. The staff themselves have been generally helpful with very rare exceptions sometimes. My only ever observation is that due to not having enough workers that they may be stretched thin at times, leaving certain times of the day with packed lines (been in them before). Then again, in those same observations I get entertained with the amount of folks that come up with nothing prepared and they have to work each one from scratch. That said, going 4.5/5 here! Thankful for the workers here and helping us to all get the things that just arrive on time.

Unsafe…read more Regular disappearance of checks mailed from this Post Office Location during 2025.Neighbors and many posts on NextDoor regularly from others who have had their checks taken, both from the big secure outside box, but also despite bringing our mail inside the facility to either an interior secure drop or handing directly to a postal clerk. This has been Increasing in frequency Jan-Mar 2026. This poster has had 3 bill checks taken in just the last few weeks (yes I use a sharpie) The thieves seem to quickly identify what is a billpay type of mailing, because it is only the bill pay checks to Utilities, Medicare, State of TN that are going missing---the personal correspondence seems to be making it to its destination. Mail brought directly to the local distribution center does not seem to 'get lost' or stolen. The problem/thievery Seems to be specific to this particular brick n mortar location on Municipal Center Drive. Despite several of us speaking to staff at this local facility nothing seems to have been done. Calling the Knox Cty Sheriff for support to engage with this local usps location has been pointless, as the Sheriff's office declines jurisdiction and states they won't even discuss it with the local post office. So, we have now opened a case for investigation via the US Postal Inspector, but every citizen who has experienced this must open their own individual case. The one nearest me (Farragut) happens to be the friendliest with a convenient location and customer service that beats all other locations in town. I could give a shout-out to every employee because I have NEVER had a clerk who was short with me, perturbed by my questions or not willing to help. Their customer service is premiere. We are now in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak but the mail still steadily churns on. I needed to make a personal visit to this Post Office last week and was pleasantly surprised that they had clearly marked 6' intervals on the floor with red tape and then also separated the clerks from the public (as much as is possible) with a solid line of red tape in front of the counter. There were three clerks on duty at the time and each were wearing gloves. It was obvious to me that they were taking this threat seriously and doing their best to do their job and to be safe for themselves and the general public. I certainly appreciate what they do and pray for their safety. Way to go! Thanks for being on the front line and doing all that you do with friendless, accuracy and swiftness.

There was 3 people in front of me. The lady working there was socializing with the first person for a good 10 minutes talking about random things in life, etc. This is NOT the place to socialize. The next person was about 8 minutes... same thing.... talking about random stuff in life. Chatting about a specialty stamp that the lady MUST have and asking if the employee can order more. Then the third person you could tell was trying to get out of there and the employee kept trying to socialize with him but he said what he needed and was trying to get out of there. She started asking me random stuff and I said "I just need a receipt" in a stern voice so she knew I wasn't here to socialize. I ignored her questions. I understand that you might have a boring job and the people that come in are your way of socializing but save that for if you go to a store or something. Sometimes people are there for a quick trip, they are on lunch break, not interested in socializing etc. we shouldn't have to wait a half hour or more for something basic. They should probably have a 2nd person if they want people to tell their whole life story to customers.

I just got into a discussion with a desk agent in regard to a media mail parcel I was mailing…read more Inside the parcel (although irrelevant) was several Paper Doll Books I was mailing. As per postal website books are co soldered media mail. However this postal agent told me that they were not and if inspected I might have to pay priority rate. So I left this office where they told me the same thing at the main branch.. and if inspected the parcel that would only be media mail items would be converted to priority mail and I would pay $13 charge. Listen folks. I get that they have a hard and thankless job. But, I also get that it's a for profit private business. Which last I checked still was in the red and losing money. This is among many of the ways you can continue to lose money. If you don't want my shipping business UPS and FedEx will gladly take it.
