Feels interesting to review a post office, ha. I've went to this location often (25+ times or more), so take it for what it's worth. Location and parking are good with no issues; it does get busy but have enough space to handle the volume. The staff themselves have been generally helpful with very rare exceptions sometimes. My only ever observation is that due to not having enough workers that they may be stretched thin at times, leaving certain times of the day with packed lines (been in them before). Then again, in those same observations I get entertained with the amount of folks that come up with nothing prepared and they have to work each one from scratch. That said, going 4.5/5 here! Thankful for the workers here and helping us to all get the things that just arrive on time. read more

This was my first time stopping by this USPS and I entered the wrong way! Oooppppsss, I didn't realize it until a truck honked at me. I thought there would be a long line since there were plenty of cars in the parking lot, but I was delightfully wrong! This USPS is huge and has plenty of cashiers waiting to assist you. I came here to purchase Christmas stamps and I was surprised once again at their selection. I was assuming there would only be 2-3 to choose from but, there was about 8 of them! I live in south Knoxville. Every Friday that I am supposed to receive a package, if it doesn't fit in my mailbox, the lazy postal worker puts an alert on the package saying "they could not access the property". My driveway is a steep 60 ft concrete driveway, and they don't want to drive up it. They don't want to walk up it, so they just lie. Then they didn't even leave a slip for us to pick it up ourselves... they are even too lazy to fill out the slip!!! Now we get to cross our fingers that Saturday's postal worker will actually do their job. Just so you know, Mr Lazy Postal Worker, if I get a chance to vote that we STOP giving USPS money, this is the reason I will absolutely vote for that. It's a business, not your personal business either!! It belongs to the working Americans that are paying your inflated salary! Do your job!!! read more

They act like every person that walks in for service is an offense to them The one in Farragut, TN is the best! They are always happy to be there. I'm sadden every time I have to go to the main office on Weisgarber road. The people working there are all rude and the atmosphere sucks the life out of you. Wow. Had a package to mail and used this location to mail it. Was able to park near the door and entered to facility and noted the service lobby. Was number two in line and the line moved fast. Staff is super friendly and very fast. They know what they are doing Mid afternoon there was four windows open. Much faster than my 'local ' post office. Yep they take credit cards and cash. Off to the side is a post office museum that was closed. Looks like a great venue for Cuba Scouts or Girl Scouts. Lobby was very clean. read more

In the beginning, we had an Express package from my wife's sister in Osaka, Japan. She shipped it to us on June 19, 2019. Her package arrived in Knoxville, TN on June 24, 2019. However, my sister made a small mistake with our street address. It should be 136-H Durwood Rd, but she wrote 13-H Durwood Rd. The Post Office carrier wrote, "No such number" .... And "return to sender". You can follow our problem on the USPS tracking website. The tracking history showed that on 06/24, at 9:21 AM, the carrier has decided to "return to sender". We had been following and tracking our package since it left Japan on June 19. And so we discovered at about 3 hours later, that my sister's package was being return to Japan. We immediately tried to correct this problem. So we began our efforts to retrieve our missing package. First, my husband went to the Farragut P.O. and tried to intercept our package. And he spoke to the head clerk at Farragut, who told him to call the carrier supervisor at 865-671-2307 (Huxley Rd). My husband spoke to him several times and he told us he would try to find our package. Later, he gave us the phone number for the Postmaster's Admin. Person, Susan at 865-558-4544. He told us she would call us before 5:30 pm on 06/24. We called the guy again about 6pm to tell him Susan never called and he told us he was also very frustrated that Susan would not communicate with him either. So, on the following day, my husband went to the Knoxville GMF on Weisgarber Rd., in an effort to meet with the Knoxville Postmaster. Most people there were not helpful, but after my husband said to stay until he spoke with someone in authority or the PO could call the police .... Finally Susan showed up at the service desk. She claimed to have tried to call us the previous evening, but we checked our land-line and cell phone accounts and we had no missing calls, so we knew Susan was lying. Susan told my husband, that since our package was an Express Package ... the PO policy was to express the package back to the sender if there is an address problem. Susan told us, Express is a very top priority and if the package cannot be delivered ASAP ...... it must be returned to Japan as express mail!! They cannot find it or stop it because it is "EXPRESS". There is our cell phone number on the shipping receipt, but no one called us. Susan told to us that the driver would not give any attention on phone number. .. However, we discovered, Susan just continued to lie to us. We continued to follow the tracking number and on July 7 (13 days later!), it arrived in Opa-Locka, FL July 7-10 it was tracking at the following locations: Opa-Locka, FL; Hollywood, FL; Miami, FL; NYC, NY; Jamaica, NY; NYC, NY. July 11 the package arrived in Tokyo, Japan July 12-13 Osaka, Japan July 13 Delivered to our sister in Osaka, Japan Clearly, the Farragut P.O., the carrier supervisor (865-671-2307), the Postmaster's assistant, Susan (865-558-4544), were all lying to us simply because they only wanted to "go away and leave them alone". They did not care about our concerns. They have no customer service skills. Susan's story about the urgency of sending our package back to Japan was a lie, since it sat in Knoxville for 13 days. She is a liar and cannot be trusted and should be disciplined. We also complained about her about 2 years ago. We had shipped a package to China from the Farragut PO. We were tracking this package and in a few days the mistakenly delivered it to Brazil. We discovered the clerk in Farragut had keyed in the postal code 13010 for Sao Paulo, Brazil instead of the Zip code for China 113008. She choose Brazil as the destination. We tried and tried for days to have the package located and returned. Eventually, we talked to this same Susan lady. She told me the USPS has NO METHOD of contacting the postal authorities in Brazil. We would just have to wait and see if they discover the "now lost" package. After about two and half months, the Brazil postal service came across the package and forwarded it on to China. We spoke with and wrote to Congressman Duncan's office. Soon we got a call from an upper level USPS official who profoundly apologized for the way we had been treated. However they still refused to refund our money we paid for Express Shipping. Our desire in communicating these problems is simply to get the USPS to make improvements in their service for all people who still use them. Every post office should have someone trained in how to find the correct street number if a letter has an incorrect number. We and our neighbors often get each other's mail and we have to fix the carrier's mistakes. And the USPS should have international contacts so that when mail goes to the wrong country there is some form of communication (i.e. telephone number or email address). These problems would not happen at FedEx or UPS. read more

I used Stamps.com along with the US Post office to deliver my handmdade products from home. I used the Post Office because I heard they were losing their jobs to Fed Ex and the like... now I know why!! My packages lay on the mailbox for days.. days... I call the post office to ask what is the best time for me to put my packages out to be picked up? They answered "there is no way of telling" I asked "please give me a window of time" bottom line the lady said they wouldn't. I have had to remake many packages because they just sit there in the blazing sun. The postman will come and actually deliver my mail and NOT take my package that I paid to have picked up.. and I paid for 2 day priority mail shipping!! I cannot believe how terrible the service is. It has been 6 days and have remade the package already once. I usually give up and run to the post office myself. Total waste of time and money!!!! read more

We live in a condo unit with a community mailbox for 60 units. Our postal service is horrible to say the least. Mail is placed in the wrong slots almost everyday. A few weeks ago, the mail carrier left the outgoing mail on top of the unit box. A few months ago, we were expecting a check. It was placed in the wrong box and the owner was in another state as they are part time residents. Last week, packages were placed in the large package units but keys were left in the doors, with the doors left open, instead of being placed in the owners box. We have called the post office on Magnolia in Knoxville only to be reminded of how many pieces of mail they deliver per day. We called the main Knoxville post office, left a message, and never received a return call. The work ethic for these employees is the worst we have seen. We are considering contacting the Post Office department in Washington DC and our senators. Something must be done! read more
