Nothing but problematic and incredibly frustrating…read more In August and September of 2022, we had to be out of down for several weeks. Our house sitter failed to bring our mail in as instructed. So it built up in our mailbox. A letter carrier pulled it and apparently had our address listed vacant in the USPS's database. So ALL mail was returned to senders. We've made 4 personal visits (and multiple attempts to reach the Northridge Branch by phone, which they seldom answer) and were assured each and every time that the problem had been solved. It wasn't. Our mail was continuing to be returned to the senders. This caused us to be charged returned mail fees by our bank. We were forced to contact dozens of others senders to get new copies of donation reports, new debit cards because the originals were lost in this awful system, scrambling to find critical medications from our mail order that were tied up in transit, and a host of other serious problems. I finally contacted the USPS District Office in Cincinnati where a complaint report was taken. Within a couple of days, we received a handwritten note from one of our mail carriers explaining the problem was with the database that controls mail sorting. Magically, I also received a call from someone who identified himself as the branch manager saying that he personally was updating the database that very day. So, here we are months later, long after the database was supposedly corrected, and some of our mail is STILL being returned to the senders. Phone calls to the Northridge Branch are STILL not being answered. And, I'm not wasting gas driving over there again about this matter. I have another call into the District Office again. Apparently, the District Office now doesn't have enough staff to answer its phones as its automated system forced me to leave a message. In all the years I've dealt with the USPS, I have NEVER had such terrible service. And it's an organization that exists to provide service! When Louis De Joy was appointed Postmaster General, he made it clear he was going to dismantle the USPS. He came from the package delivery industry, and it's clear to me that he wants the USPS's services to be taken over by the private sector where profit is king. If this is any example of what his leadership means, then he's succeeding.

Being new to the area, I just use faith google, to lead me to places that can accommodate my daily needs. Shipping is a daily need. Upon entering any location I tend to learn their practices so that I am a good customer, at this particular USPS their practices continually change and this is where this complaint of customer service was birth. I walked in with my shipping bag and I was the only person in line, no surprise there. Of course, the ladies behind the counter were laughing and chatting, no harm there. I waited to be called and I said "hello" cheerfully, and the lady responded with "hello" but with a question mark at the end as if I was troubling her from doing the very thing she should be doing, her job. I pulled the three packages from my shipping bag and asked if I could ship these items, she responded condescendingly " as in you want me to ship this for you without you filling out a labeling slip that costs .99 cents." I was confused, mainly because it had been a few days since someone had spoken to me in such a tone. I then said, " I'm confused", because I was I had been to this location and many others and I had never filled out this slip that costs .99 cents ever. She then looked me dead in my eyes and said " you are not gonna tell me that I need to ship your stuff, you should have all of your stuff filled out before even approaching the counter or me". I looked at her and knew in my heart if I gave her the ugly hate she gave me, it would have been a problem and the only problem I wanted to solve was servicing my clients by having their packages sent. I handed the pen that she had given me to write on that same .99 cent mystery piece of paper and walked out. Here is the lesson, good business ideas do not make a good business, the great people implementing good business ideas make a good business. To answer the question that is lingering in your mind, no I didn't ship at the location that day. Oh, and this complaint is on the one black young lady, but the whole staff could use a refresh. Please, please stop working at jobs you don't love. You are arent doing anyone a favor, certainly not yourself. Oh, and this review is written by a black woman!

I had never shipped a package before so I had no knowledge you couldn't ship a computer through priority mail. So once we had everything set to go, she snarkily comes over and says that we'd have to buy a standard box in order to ship the computer, fine. The amazingly kind first worker I mentioned earlier brought us out a box someone else had already paid for and left behind because they didn't need it. Once I paid and left I quickly realized that I'd been scammed and wouldn't you know it, when I walked into the building there was Amy condescendingly speaking to an elderly woman, to which I told her to act with respect and she then rolled her eyes. I hope whoever goes to this post office never has to deal with Amy because she very clearly despises her job.
