The area around this Greene County treasure, between Yellow Springs and Xenia, is so beautiful, especially in the fall, that it should be on everyone's "must see" list if they're in area, or even worth a special trip!! There's a small parking area, and if you get a good map (google was helpful, surprisingly!!) a wonderful hiking/biking destination as well. Make the time for this one, and its wonderful "cousin" in Yellow Springs, Richard P. Eastman Covered Bridge (review coming soon...)!!

It was a stop that was unplanned but happy we found it! - air conditioned nice restrooms with changing table - parking is near the playground - drinking fountain outside and inside with a water bottle fill station. - splash pad for cooling off May-Sept - bike trails nearby - covered shelter to relax It has a playground that is hot, hot, hot but your kids can cook off at the splash pad adjacent to the playground. It has a neat little train but you can't go into it at all. Fun to look at and for photo ops. Parking lot is close enough to see your kids from the car. There's a porta potty next to the splash pad right now or you can walk to a nearby very new updated building with facilities. I will add the photos of the building and bathrooms. The Wright Brothers constructed a launch pad for their aircraft and managed to circle this field for up-to 30 minutes. The site adjacent is now a gun range, and an airport where aeronautical engineering has become classified. However, it's pretty amazing to come here and soak up the history. The flowers and fields are also beautiful, but don't go around picking them. That will get you fined.

One of the signs says it is the world's first airport and I liked that description. It is a beautiful meadow filled with a wide variety of wild flowers. There is a parking area with a trail, or you can follow the road to get to where the majority of the placards with historic information are located. (although there isn't really a place to park in that area). The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that it can really use some TLC. The signage is a bit faded and the replica structure could use some tidying up and some pieces painted or replaced.

The trails are clean and well kept. If hiking isn't your thing, there are lots of areas to play frisbee, let your kids run around, or have a picnic in the shade. It's about a 45 minute drive for us, so we don't go often but when we do go once or twice a year, we always enjoy this beautiful park.

I had limited time, but did make it about 3/4 of the way around the main trail, with stops along the way to take pictures. Wonderful, varied scenery, varied terrain, and VERY scenic!! This old quarry has been "repurposed" and is a great spot to "get away from it all" without going too far. A good-sized lake, a few easy to moderate trails (the rocky lake overlooks are nice!!) and plenty of parking are what you'll find. No, not the best trail markings/maps, but if I figured it out, anyone can!! A great spot to discover in Greene County, I'll be back!!

It's…read morea non profit so I guess this is to help in taking care of the the facilities and help pay the staff. I'd never been here but the lovely Mrs went to camp here with her 8th grade class back in the 80's. I'd never been so was kind of curious about it as I was under the impression that it's just a park where kids could learn about nature and all its magic. What I found out is that it is an incredible wandering path. Lots of things to see like waterfalls, rock formations and even a path where you get from one side to the other by stepping from stone to stone. Lots of folks, lots of pets, big and small. The education center had a park employee out there with a bigger falcon, then a smaller falcon and then the gorgeous barn owl. The folks inside the education center were incredibly helpful and knew a ton about the inhabitants of the 'enclosures'. My favorite was the teeny tiny Megatron who's the smallest and cutest owl I've ever seen. Park isn't marked very well. They suggest you download the digital map from the QR code as you walk toward the very nice restroom facility. This is very nice but... the signs(pieces of paper with numbers written on them) with the corresponding numbers from the map are either missing, blurred due to water or faded from the sun. I'm hoping one of the Boy Scouts we saw while here takes it upon themselves to start their petition to create more permanent signs for their 'Eagle' comprehensive service project. There were so many times we were like...where are we. Plenty of trash to pick up so if you're like me, bring a small grocery bag and leave it better than you came. Thank you to the nice couple with the long haired dachshund who climbed the rocky pylon to help me get the cup that had been left there. It makes me happy that there are people still out there willing to help me with such simple but worthwhile side projects.

I remember being dazzled by the waterfalls and entranced by the pine forest. I'm now 70 years old and live in Colorado, but make a point to revisit this majestic place whenever I return to visit family in the Dayton area.

The park has a small free museum but they were not open yet when we were there. I went with Kayla and the kids, Saige & Deacon. Saige enjoyed checking out the signs and reading them. The park is very nice with several picnic tables but no grills. Lots of parking. Easy to find with GPS or just watch for the signs to the memorial.

There is also a Junior Ranger program you can participate in. I did expect there to be a bit more to the museum, but I suppose a lot of what they could cover was already covered at the other interpretive site. The memorial itself has an amazing view of the prairie field (and surrounding area) and there is a great deal of interpretive signage throughout the area. The parking lot is to the side of the building and there seems to be an ample amount of space. A great place to visit and learn just a little more about the Wright Brothers.
