    Internet connection was slow over the Christmas holiday - okay, heavy Amazon traffic. It continued…read moreinto the new year - including regular internet drops (per system tray icon) - even with restarting our router modem. I called Brightspeed (who took over our CenturyLink account) and all they could tell me was that I needed to increase speed (we are already maxed at 10 mg download) because we have too many devices using the internet (two laptops and two smart phones, no gaming). Could not convince the agent otherwise, so I asked to have a tech come to our home and all the agent could say was that it would cost $100 and they would not be able to tell us any different. So I asked to speak with a supervisor. The agent supposedly transferred me to the supervisor's phone where we were on "ignore" (i.e., hold) for 60+ minutes (yes, over an hour) without the supervisor ever taking our call. Rotten technical service. And they are, apparently, the only land-based business in the area.

No one ever answers the Platteville office phone, and if you're lucky enough to catch someone they will put you on hold and then hang up. I went in to resolve issues and was not greeted at the door, was told that they couldn't do anything to help me at that office. Waste of my time. They have tons of 800 numbers with very nice but unhelpful people who will just tell you to unplug and restart your modem. My internet was out for over a week, multiple technicians not showing up to the repair appointment. The customer service 800 numbers just kept telling me he was on his way, ended up waiting 8 hours and no show or call to explain. Best they could do was reschedule. It is barbaric to have to pay for internet when it isn't even working and they are in no hurry to fix it!!! It took 3 missed technicians for them to finally send someone out to my house. I argued for a credit to my account for the days I went without internet. You need to be authoritative to get anywhere with this company.

    Every month there are issues paying my bill. The internet always has problems so I have to change…read moremy password every time. Then problems with it excepting my account number. To the people that help you on the phone treating me like I can't read a damn number. So this time I go to pay on the phone even though it cost nearly 4 dollars to do so. I'm waiting thru the questions on what amount I am paying. Never get one. Before I know it, it is taking 168 out of my account instead of agreement that was set. Bottom line is if I want it reversed like the 2nd rep said, the 3rd rep says if we do that you will be late for your payment that is due tomorrow! What!!!? Being the customer service specialist that I was, this is NOT servicing your customer. It's every time not just this one. I would recommend to anyone to use charter over TDS. They can be asses too, but would of had the decency to at least not make my payment count as late when it's their equipment that caused the mix up!!! NOT A USER FRIENDLY COMPANY!!!

    Tds has fraudulent misrepresentation issues. Sent me 5 offers for internet and phone at $49.95 per…read moremonth. I currently pay an outrageous amount of $ 80.50 per month. I called to accept offer and sales rep states that this offer is not for existing customers. Their offer does not state that the offer is for new customers only. When I ask to speak to the sales reps supervisor they just put me on hold until I finally hang up. I have contacted the BBB and am currently waiting for a response.
