After…read morehaving a HORRIBLE mattress shopping/buying experience in the Quad Cities, I decided to shop around at smaller neighboring towns, in the hopes that I could find not only better pricing, but that small-town feeling where the sales folks actually took an interest & cared about me, as well as keeping me as a customer. I am so glad that I did! Before driving the 45+ minutes one-way, I called Factory Direct Mattress in Clinton, IA, and spoke with Domingo. After listening to my past experiences, what I was looking for, and my overall general requirements, he requested that I come to his store & "try on" some mattresses so he could see how each of the mattresses he offered reacted to my body type, shape, and weight. Domingo really knew his stuff...not just about mattresses, but also about food, health, & fitness, and he honestly could be a life coach in general! Within 15 minutes of meeting him, I felt like we had known each other our entire lives! Not only did I walk out of Factory Direct Mattress with a great new king-size mattress, box springs, bed frame, and mattress cover for a great price, but also with the peace of mind that Domingo actually takes care of his customers, and wants to retain his customers for life! In a world where customer service is robotic, automated, or non-existent, it is very refreshing to know that there is at least ONE business today in which honesty, integrity, and a genuine care for the customer still exists! It is not about the money. Verlo Mattress has been jerking us around and talking out of both sides…read moreof their mouths for about 20 days. This is a 12 inch mattress that has expanded to 10 inches in the middle and is STILL hugely compressed on both ends. They jerked us around over a replacement. They refused a refund so I could buy a mattress from somewhere that had real mattresses. They stated They had to "discuss" what to do. I don't see that there is anything to discuss. It's faulty. Several emails and photos later... AND after a call to the mattress manufacturer who informed us that the distributor- Verlo, has an agreement with them that requires them to provide replacements of defective mattresses did Verlo begrudgingly offered to replace it. The manufacturer also advised that the amount of time for the mattress to expand was 36 to 48 hours. Weeks and weeks later...still not expanded. They suggested they would open one for us so it would expand completely before we picked it up. They put it off. After more calls, they stated that the idea they came up with - to open and expand the mattress- was not convenient for them, they simply don't have the room to open a mattress like they promised. The latest LIE? "Oh, we'll open one for you christmas eve so it will be fully expanded by monday when you can pick it up" Monday - Oh yeah, we didn't have one so there's nothing for you to pick up. No call to advise there were no mattresses for them to open over the holiday - radio silence until we called to come pick it up. SICK AND TIRED OF BEING JERKED AROUND. So freaking sorry I didn't spend enough money to get decent customer service. Apparently Verlo Mattress only cares about customers who spend larger amounts of money than we did. Expensive lesson learned - never buy from a company that only provides levels of customer service that is contingent upon the actual amount of cash paid. BTW, the mattress was purchased for an individual who has been in the hospital for 3 weeks and is in need of a bed when they return This weekend. STILL NO BED VERLO. We did NOT receive what we paid for. We received a substandard product that is entirely worthless.

We love Lebeda mattresses. Discovered them while we live in North Liberty for a time. After moving…read moreback to the south, we needed some additional mattresses for our younger kids and it was cheaper to order from Lebeda and pay for shipping than to order locally from the big box stores. The Emeline mattresses are my absolute favorite. Prices are just fantastic. We also use only bed gear mattress protectors on all our beds. They are not noisy or hot or scratchy and they protect the mattresses from all bed wetting accidents. Clint was great to work with. The newer showroom is really nice. Nothing not to recommend here. Wish they would open a location near us.

Also ignore the expensive sofas near the door if they are out of your price range. Ayers has a wide selection of price ranges and styles. We were able to choose something more modern for a small budget. Although we could have picked something traditional. They have a great in-stock floor selection, as well as an insane custom order area. Our salesman let us take our time and walk the whole store. He was kind and personable. Very low pressure! We ordered that day and we were able to receive it less than 6 days later! We could have received it sooner, but we are quite far from the store. The moving men were very quick and efficient. They didn't even bump anything, never mind actually damage anything. They let me know the timeframe they would be here all the way up to 2 mins away. The couch is sturdy and will last us a long time.
