    Floor install process was a nightmare. It was supposed to be a one day job. The crew was supposed to arrive around 9am, but instead arrived 5-6 hours late at ~2pm, only after I called asking what was going on. They didn't put any brown paper or anything protective on the floor or walls to work. They worked til ~8PM, I had to come to the house to lock the door after them because I hadn't moved in yet (specifically to get the 2nd floor carpet replaced with flooring), and they had to come back the next day. Carlos, the sales contact at USA Flooring, didn't care. Day 2, they come 2-2.5hrs late. Then they leave without telling me and I find dirt and scratches everywhere, the floor not finished, and quarter rounds installed crooked. Carlos tells me he ordered too little flooring and it'll take another week. He was SO disrespectful, but this is par for the course. Why can't they at least clean up and get it near completion before leaving? Then the manager (Katie?) started communicating with me. She also told me they don't paint the ends of the quarter rounds white. They just leave the wood exposed. To me, that's not a finished job. She had them come back a 3rd day to clean up and finish. Then a week later they came back and actually finished with the missing flooring. 2 stars bc the floor got done, but insane headaches. Oh also, I was made to pay full upfront which I stupidly never should have done.

    I would not recommend using USA Flooring in Durham or Raleigh for anything. We got our whole house done in engineered hardwood in August. The flooring was defective and the whole house needs to be redone. They have agreed, however have dragged their feet for almost 3 months. We have to constantly call them, we have been passed off from store manager Kenan Lewis in Durham where we purchased, to Anthony in Raleigh. Neither have any customer service skills nor have been proactive in any way. Meanwhile half of our house has been in our garage since August. We picked out new flooring weeks ago and it appears it might be delivered soon. The "redo" process is going to take at least twice as long as they rip up and sand the whole house all over again. We will incur significant expense to house us and our dog for a week as well as additional cleaning fees not to mention 3 months of aggravation and moving everything back into the garage. I asked for 20% refund and was told "you can check with the manufacturer." I didn't contract with the manufacturer! The whole thing has been a nightmare of bad customer service. I filed with the BBB but that may take a while.

    We visited 3 flooring stores plus Home Depot and Lowe's. Only USA Flooring had the perfect laminate floor, and it was a good price. The sales staff was helpful and friendly. The installation was excellent, and the installers were friendly and efficient. The one problem is that the store is not proactive. No one called to schedule the delivery or the installation, even though the product had arrived at their warehouse. No one called to update us when the delivery was late. I would definitely use them again, but I know that MY follow up will be required until the flooring is installed.

My daughter had the company install carpet it her house and reported a positive experience, so I called Boyd whom she dealt with. After been a week I didn't hear back from them, so my wife and I stopped by the showroom. Boyd was at his office and showed us several carpet samples. He sent us an estimate four or five days later. I called him to make the purchase. The next step involved rather "businesslike" employee who came out to measure the two rooms. Boyd told me he would let me know when the carpet arrived to their warehouse. After about a week and 1/2 of not hearing anything, I called Boyd. Lo and behold, the carpet was there and had been. This was the second example of the lack of communication from the company. My wife suggested that I call Boyd to confirm that the scheduled installation would indeed happen. It didn't occur to me to do that, because I guess I''m trusting. Boyd was was out of the office. The receptionist said that she would contact the warehouse manager, who was also away from the office, and that she would call me back with confirmation. She never called me back either! I called the company the second time that day and was able to reach, I believe, Tina who confirmed that the carpet would be installed on the scheduled day. No explanation as to why no one had called me back. A couple brought the carpet out on Thursday and spent much of the day installing it. They worked steadily. They were fine to deal with other than their lack of English which was a bit of a problem. It appeared that they did a good job installing the carpet and cleaning up. I wish I had checked more closely how they replaced the furniture once the new carpet was in. Three large pieces of furniture were not put back like they originally which makes it difficult or impossible for me to use a large drawer and watch television at the right angle. As you can gather, my main problem in dealing with the company was their lack of communication. No one from the company called me back on three occasions! Nor have I heard from them with any sort of follow-up. In addition to being frustrating, this obviously makes it difficult to do business with them.
