The news has been flooded with Christmas Shipping deadlines for UPS, FedEx and of course the USPS. My wife had an optometrist appointment across the Interstate, and I figured I could drop her off, run over to the Huntersville PO and mail my package. Being Christmas, I knew it was going to be crowded and I would probably have to wait. I normally use the Cornelius NC PO but I figured it would just as bad there. Took two trips around the parking lot to grab a parking spot but lucked out when someone was leaving, and I snared a parking spot right outside the front door. I was right in that it was going to be crowded and there was going to be a wait. The line stretched from the counter around the room and out the doors and halfway across the lobby. When I got in line, there were four stations open but that dropped to three when I going to guess someone when to lunch. Shortly thereafter, the three dropped to two. Sign said to have everything ready and for the most part, everyone was prepared with the appropriate paperwork and packaging. Only one case of someone without a clue and while it did hold the line up a bit but everyone was otherwise cooperative. Took a bit over 30 minutes but finally got the counter and within a couple of minutes, my package was on it's way to Carlsbad CA. Shipped on a Wednesday with an ETA of Sunday which was dead on. The two guys who were manning the counters were doing a great job keeping things moving. Only complaint I had was on resource allocation. Someone should have staggered their lunch break so that at least three stations were open at any one time. Otherwise, everything went fine.

Those couple questions they ask as you're fixing to leave aren't just to separate you from your money, they are memory prods because minds wander while standing on queue. Please try to have your packages in order and save the unhappy rants for social media. Practice small talk and other social skills if there's a line. It's the post office, try to make it funner for everyone.

I rarely think it is actually 3 stars, but it keeps vacillating between the two so you can expect an equal number of 2 star experiences to 4 star experiences. Strange things I notice: they run out of certain stamps early. Don't care that much about Batman vs. Harriet Tubman, just letting you know sometimes there are slim pickings - slimmer than at other locations. They have plenty of supplies and you can get some for free if sending the proper rate. If you need to pickup a package go to the side door with the doorbell. Make sure you get a persons name before they leave the window - in the event they never come back.

I don't typically post a review, but when I feel a business is unethical it is important to me that the community. I hope what happened to me does not happen to anyone else. A friend of mine took a package into UPS store #2690 on Feb 5, 2026 for a guaranteed over night delivery to me in Austin, TX on Feb 6, 2026. The store charged $214.00. On Feb 6th I tracked the package. It was delayed due to weather. But how can that be? There were no weather issues in Charlotte or Austin, and if there was why did they accept the package for overnight delivery? Yes, there were weather issues the previous week, but that was the previous week. When I contacted the UPS store owner/manager, Issa, I was told they could not be accountable for weather. The package would not be delivered until three days later. To make matters worse because I was no longer in the Austin area to receive the package he wanted to charge me $100.00 to reroute it. Completely unethical in my opinion. After going around and around with Issa hoping to get a full refund, he offered me a $75.00 store credit. Sorry, that doesn't cut it. Rather than accept an offer like that and keep quiet I would rather not, and post this in hopes that it will help someone avoid this situation in the future and go elsewhere to ship overnight packages.

Amazon makes is really convenient to return packages to the UPS Store and I like that you don't even have to box them up, simply take the item in and grab your receipt. There was one time that I placed an order online at West Elm and opted to have the package sent here vs to my home and I was annoyed when I went to pick it up that UPS charged me $5 for the service. Nowhere was that clearly stated on the West Elm site, it suggested this was a free convenience. I wasn't happy about that at all and have never done that again. Can't say for sure, but I'd imagine there is a fee for any package that you opt to pickup here instead of having it delivered to your home. Be sure to confirm.

They used a silver/grey background and I didn't even think about it--they take photos for MANY people and have for years. When I got to the passport office, the lady told me that it would be accepted because it wasn't white. Also, side note, the UPS employee said I couldn't smile--the passport USPS employee said " I don't know why they tell you that you cannot smile because you can"!! Thankfully the person at the USPS was able to retake a photo for me during my appt. To verify 100% you CAN smile, I received my passport, zero issues!

Otherwise, you will need to use the visitor parking behind the building for $6 an hour. It was on the fourth floor of the parking building as I got lost when I went back to find my car. I just can't thank Felicia Breeze enough for her help that I was applying to get my passport fixed. You just need some patience as she has to handle all walked-in customers. There was also a male staff who speaks Vietnamese as well. They are super friendly and helpful. Another thank to them.
