This post office was fantastic. Especially Kendra who is so lovely, so helpful, and so good at her job. We had the very best experience with her during our appointment to get passports for my daughters. If I had a business I'd try to hire her away. She deserves a raise and promotion!! read more

Most of the employees are helpful and nice BUT some of the customers feel like they are entitled and are pushy, rude they get mad when their package are delivered by the customer put the incorrect address on the package or they forgot to add a ste# or apt# if they don't get their way they give the postal service or clerk a bad review when it was the customer fault like (ROSA T )THAT came in the po about a month ago looking for a package that said delivered! If I could give it 0 stars I would, I understand this place only has one star‍, a brownskin woman with blonde braids or browns idk is very rude to people, I don't understand why she works in that place, now I went for my package that said first that it was delivered, when they never delivered it to me, it's not the first package they steal from me, that woman doesn't even let me give her the information of my package, tomorrow I'll go back and I hope she's not there, she's disrespectful to people and I need my package because I paid for something and I don't care‍ read more

Why is the package drop off chute locked down so often? When the kiosk is open for business the chute should be, too. There have been several wasted trips to this office because the chute has been locked down. Not always on holidays or Sundays, either. Several people have this same issue as I have met them in the lobby with the same frustrations. read more

I would give a 0 if a could. The service is appalling! Not only when it comes to delivery of the mail, but also when it comes to the Passport applications. The lady that is in charge is extremely rude and doesn't even know the rules. My 16 year old can get his passport processed without both parents present as long as he has all of his documents, which he did, but still she refused to process his application. Don't go there! I'll never go back for anything else. They've completely lost my business. read more

I have been to this post office twice and had a good experience both times. The staff is friendly and the parking is ample. I did notice that they don't have a ton of packing materials, but it was enough to get my packages on their way. Overall good USPS location. read more

I dread going to this post office even though I live less than five minutes away. One or two postal workers are incredibly rude and have an attitude (The others like the supervisor are very nice.). One postal worker practically yelled at an older customer for not writing down the items in the content ("AS I SAID, YOU NEED TO WRITE DOWN WHAT'S INSIDE YOUR PACKAGE!!!"). I was so appalled and wanted to get out fast. read more

Have gone to post offices in Ann Arbor and, in 90% of the cases, had nothing but GREAT customer service. But, after my second visit to this Ypsi USPO, have to say it's THE WORST, MOST GHETTO post office in HISTORY. Every see that MADtv Bon Qui Qui at King Burger skit (if not, google...NOW!) The ladies that work there are WORST than that. Even more horrifying, they're all in their 50's or older and are being paid by YOUR government. The worst of the worst of the worst. Almost a parody of GHETTO service. These women have no business working at a McDonald's drive-thru much less of us! read more

I wrote a horrible review in 2018, nothing has changed other than them getting to add Covid to their list of excuses. Packages still being delivered to the wrong address. So as I was patiently awaiting the arrival of my mail, I watched as my postal carrier completely just drove past the mailboxes that belong to my neighbor and myself respectively as there was a vehicle parked in front of them, however the postal carrier didn't get out of their vehicle and place the mail in the mailboxes. They just kept driving the route. This is a major inconvenience as I've been awaiting some very important documents to arrive. I am currently on hold trying to file a complaint as I type this review. This is highly unprofessional on so many levels. read more

Wow I'm so speechless right now from Ypsilanti Township USPS. TODAY I was so excited to see on there USPS mobile app that my package was delivered from eBay. But I open mail box and getting mail and no key for the bigger mail box. Because I live in a trailer park "Swans Creek" but it says delivered and there is no key at all and great "ITS GONE" thank god I just spend $8 on a LaserDisc. Our mail person who I saw and delivered mail today can't even put the right key in mail box and can't read what's he doing. Come on...! What a joke of service and office! What a joke! SHUT IT DOWN. I guess I can't buy anything from eBay anymore until they get these Unofficial postal workers out of here who don't even work for United States post office are using third-party what a joke! Although not a particularly beautiful post office but I always get exceptional service here. I have been using this post office for 3 years and the workers I have interacted with have always been friendly professional and helpful. There are some annoyance this post office has long lines (4pm-cose), they always id me and will not take a your credit card if the back is not signed (when I got a new card this was an issue which led to IDing). But, I understand that there is protocol and despite these things I am usually asked how I am along with if I need stamps which I appreciate. I also appreciate the machine that lets you buy postage (for envelopes & packages) and put things in the box even when the Post Office is closed. It makes me feel less guilty if I get stuck mailing a package on Sunday. read more

Update 1/18/19 They are getting much better at answering the phone. They seem to have hired some new staff as well. Keep it up! Prior review: Ypsilanti is THE ABSOLUTE WORST post office in the 4 cities I've lived in. THE WORST. In the last 4 months alone, they've misdelivered 4 packages. 2 in one day. I literally feel like I update this review every couple months. I've had several incidents of misdelivered packages. Usually they are recovered from an honest neighbor. Now I have a lost package that they delivered to someone else and the person hasn't come forward yet. USPS is investigating, but no one is being accountable for something I paid for. If USPS scans delivered even if it's delivered to the wrong person, they get to wash their hands. It's not right. They are not using the parcel lockers like they are supposed to and haven't for 2 years. All the keys are lost. So they get stuffed in the communal mailboxes. With about 50 boxes all accessible behind one door, it's easy to make a mistake. Not so easy to correct if the wrong intended party is excited about their new free parcel and doesn't feel like returning it. It's a federal offense to interfere with mail. Why is USPS the only one who doesn't actually have to follow that? read more

My wife and I went to this location to renew our passports, bad idea. Upon getting to the counter, we were pushed between three different postal workers, only one of whom seemed authorized to help with passport processing. None of the workers were patient or helpful, they seemed like they just wanted to get us out of there. They rushed us to sign documents, pay fees, and didn't answer our questions. I actually don't know if I signed everything necessary for my passport, have no clue when to expect them returned, and am concerned it will be rejected due to negligence or insufficient information. My wife almost had a panic attack with how rude the attendants were; they seemed to expect us to know what to sign, how much to pay, and in general did not want to be there or help us. What is happening at this post office is not acceptable and unsafe for homeland security. I could easily have given a false identity and submitted a passport. They did not check or confirm any information I provided, and I signed the passport form without taking any oath (which is a legal requirement). Do not give them your business for such a sensitive and important service like passport renewal. read more

This post office is fraught with logistical errors, and they could care less about customer service. First, they told me they lost my package after waiting forever to pick it up. Then they called me two days later and said they found the package. So I came to pick it up today (waited half an hour in line) and unsurprisingly, they couldn't find it. I had been patient and friendly with the cashier, and he treated me rudely, as if it was my fault they lost my package. Avoid this post office if at all possible. After living at the same address for years and receiving packages and mail there. According to the post office my address doesn't exist. In the past week they have messed up 3 deliveries. Once they said delivery location was not accessible, second one they delivered saying they placed it on my front porch and I don't have a front porch. Third time they sent the package back saying my address doesn't exist. Why would I want to disagree with the Postal Service? I hope they get it together soon so I can have a Christmas eventually. This being my local post office, I tend to frequent it at least once a month to send something off. The wait times do add up if you try to get in here when EVERYONE else tries to (prior to its closing is a bad time). Typically if you head over at lunch time, or in the AM you will get no lines (surprise, people are at work), but when you are on your way home, well everyone stops here to get mail shipped. I've had more luck doing the self shipping option faster and just dropping it in the mailbox when compared to standing in line, and having someone help me. I haven't had any bad experiences tho, so I can't speak for the overall service, but what I've experienced has been professional and curteous given the sometimes long lines of rush hour folks. read more

I live in 48197. Consistently late packages. No mail delivery at least a few days a week. I went there last summer to find a lost package and the manager said (in a very kind way) that they didn't know where my package was, I would have to wait and that they don't answer the phone, so to check back in I would have to stop by and wait in line. There seems to be a big problem with this office. Please do better or companies like Amazon will be forced to use other mail providers and people will lose good jobs. read more

As a 73 Great Grandmother I have dealt with the U.S. POST OFFICE for many years. Yesterday I finally called the Michigan Attorney General and Washington Customer Care , US POST OFFICE. Yesterday prior to those calls, I called my post office and asked for the PostMaster but was told he wasn't available. So then I asked for a supervisor and she said that was her. I told her " I'm getting other people's mail and packages, "( We have several carriers, each day a different one ) Mail that I have sent out, sit in my mailbox with flag up for several days. She said " if they don't have mail for you, they don't have to pick it up". Late charges on bills that were picked up but never made it to company they were sent to. Packages mailed to me that were never received. I told her two weeks prior I mailed a small box to Oregon, with a $10.00 check made out to PostMaster taped in an envelope to the box and never received the change .... and package was never received... all I got was excuses .I asked where my change or what was left in stamps. They don't give stamps, or take checks........Then I told her one of the carriers refuse to close my gate, (I have a 4 month puppy ). She said she would investigate. I told her to have the PostMaster call me tomorrow. She said " she would see if he was available ". I said " no, please have him call me. No return call yet. This was not a Caucasian woman I was speaking to and she was very arrogant. So, what I learned from her You can not mail packages using a check, or buy stamps by use of CARRIER. CARRIER doesn't have to pick up your mail if he or she has no mail for you. Getting other people's mail happens occasionally. If a package you mailed hasn't been received, you have to wait 30 days, then call back.... This is the WORST SERVICE I have EVER EXPERIENCED. This post office needs a POSTMASTER who controls his employees and make sure they do their jobs correctly, and his SUPERVISOR KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFESSIONAL ! I am filling Complaints with MICHIGAN ATTORNEY GENERAL 1-517-335-7622, and US POSTAL Headquarters in Washington 1-800-275-8777. I want better SERVICE. You want better SERVICE, CALL. I do not remember the two employees names I encountered,so, I will be addressing them by there nationality. I had asked a nice Caucasian female employee to see if my change of address went through. I told her that I completed the change of address online around a month ago, and I just wanted to confirm and follow up on it. The Caucasian employee told me politely that she will have someone else help me and look that information up for me. I replied okay. When she returned she told me that someone will be working on that for me, and if I could please step on the side of the line. I said "okay thank you." Then she started helping other customers. As I waited for a while I noticed a light skinned African American young female employee coming out from the back of the counter. She began to talk to the Caucasian female employee, asking her if she just asked for someone to check an address change for a customer, the Caucasian employee replied "yes." Then the African American woman asked her "you don't know how to do it" and then said "I'm good" indicating she did not want to look up my address. Then she said to the customers "I can take the next person in line." Then both employees began to help other customers while I was still waiting to have my address change confirmation. After she helped some more customers, the Caucasian employee came back to me and told me that she will look up the information herself, I replied "okay, thank you." I waited a while, then she returned and told me that the address change that I had completed online did not go through, so I completed a new change of address there, but felt so uncomfortable, and treated poorly that I could not keep a steady hand. I felt rushed and couldn't focus. When I finished the address change form, I handed it into the Caucasian employee, then asked for both of the employees names for my personal records, but forgot there names instantly due to the way that I was treated and the way I felt. As I walked away and thanked them for giving me their names, I overheard the African American employee ask the Caucasian employee,"why she need my name for" I replied, so that she could here me, "because you did not want to look up my address for me." She replied with a lie by saying she did not know how to do it. People must have heard that she did not say she did not know how to do it, she asked if the other employee knew how to do it, as if she did not understand why the employee asked someone else to perform the task anyway. Then the African American employee said she was good, indicating she did not want to do it, and therefore having me wait along time unnecessarily. I walked out after answering why I asked for there names because the African American employee began to argue with me and raise her voice interrupting the flow of the customers in line. read more

Ypsilanti post office=complete fucking idiots. My sister moved into her own place a few weeks ago. She went to the postal office and did a change of address for HERSELF! I ordered a few things online that were being mailed separately and, while I was tracking my package it said "rerouted to revised address" I called the postal office and they told me that they automatically changed my address to my sisters address even though I never went there to fill out a address change form, that's not the damn address on the fucking package and,I don't live with her. They told me that they were going to fix my address in the system but, while I was tracking another package just a few minutes ago it says that my package was delivered but it wasn't delivered to my address. Let's cut straight to the crowning outrage. The State Department, unlike any other Federal agency, doesn't take credit card payments. OK, you want to get a passport. You go to this post office. You stand in line patiently, no other options are indicated. You get to a teller after some length of time. This teller none too patiently, in fact rudely, informs you that a different clerk handles passports. You have to go stand in another line, if that other clerk happens to be present at all. This can be quite a long wait as well. After you've gotten into the process with that clerk for a while, you are informed that you need cash or a check or a debit card, in order to buy the required money order (for an additional fee). I asked the clerk if it had ever happened that someone had stood in line for an hour or more only to discover that they should have brought their checkbook. Yes! she replied. WHY DON'T YOU PUT UP A SIGN? I even made some helpful suggestions: "Credit Cards Not Accepted", for example. Good idea, she answered; I've made that suggestion. BUT SIGNS HAVE TO BE APPROVED! That's the end of that. It's hopeless. Can't be done. The scenario is probably taking place all across the country. If this doesn't fill you with despair, you're made of stouter stuff than I. I don't want to come down on the passport lady. She was personable and dedicated to her job, and, unlike most in her position, was willing to grant a valid point, rather than simply falling back on "that's the rule." Similarly, unlike other services performed by these clerks, this particular service comes with its own charge: $25. This has been the case, I was told, for something like 35 years. Do you think the Post Office could say so on its website? Ha! While I'm at it, I'll mention that in eight months three mailings to me in Ypsi Towhship have been lost in the postal void: a check for over $600 (the sender had the right address, remailed the payment); a bill from the U of M Health Systems (my address was in their system), and a postcard from Mexico (other recipients received theirs). I don't know where the fault lies, but this seems like an indication that something isn't right, don't you agree? Update: the postcard just came (47 days). The other two are way beyond that in time elapsed. Update number 2: after one year at 48198, I can now report ONE greatly delayed and THREE items completely lost in the mails and never received. The latest was the annual bill and new contract copy for my home insurance, which I didn't notice until I got the notice of termination. Update number 3: yet another lost item, a periodical I pay a lot of money for. Of course, I can request a replacement, but this is a hassle! At this rate, the Post Office is screwing up one item every 104 days, or once every three and a half months. Update 4: two more periodicals not delivered. Nineteen and a half months, 6 missing items. I noticed that on some days this winter there was no delivery. I thought it was some sort of weather exception. No, I was told, it's because "we're on skeleton shifts". I find it ironic that members of Congress are getting red in the face and pounding the podium at the thought of discontinuing Saturday service, and service is already being suspended on various days as a matter of course, and nobody mentions it or even knows that it is happening. read more
