Gotta say the service here wasn't the best (locals would read the reviews for entertainment) but it's definitely gotten way better in the past year and has been great so... they deserve some stars. The woman who is there is super helpful. Yay for that. read more

The worker there is super nice, and gives you information if you need any. Overall, I have had good experiences there everytime I go.

How is such a horrible, disgustingly rude person able to keep their job? I agree with everyone that this is the worst clerk ever. I find this to be the case in so many New Jersey post offices. I brought in a delivery slip for a package I needed to pick up. She said there are no packages here I asked if she could please look and she responded "I don't have to look" Lynn: it's no one else's fault that you are unhappy but your own. It takes more energy to be a dick. We all work and do what we are hired for and are getting paid for. You are not the exception. Find something that makes you happy because you are one lonely, disliked person. And hun your negativity is going to come back on you in the end and I hope someone is there to show you what kindness is. read more

i know it wouldnt be good to be able to put negative stars as a review but if there was a place that deserved it this would be it. i feel like we all know our experiences at government buildings aka dmv or usps are going to be stressful and trying. so id like to say even a mediocre experience id put at 5 stars knowing thats the best it could be. well this usps really takes the cake at being the worst of the worst. its like the woman who works there said i dont want to just be mean and rude like a normal usps worker i really want to push to be the best (worst) of the group. when i went to drop off a package she laughed in my face as my label was 1 lb off and didnt even seem willing to help me resolve this problem. she then put up a sign that said she would be out until 330......it was 2pm and they close at 4pm. so basically telling me if i wanted to come back with a new label probably dont. so that was my own issue but what really pushes her to the top is when an older woman came walking in must have been 70s or 80s she didnt have a mask on and the usps woman goes WHERES YOUR MASK!!!!!!! the older woman goes ohhhhhhhh im sorry i must have forgot it in my car. ARE YOU STUPID!!!!!!! HOW DO YOU WALK IN HERE WITH OUT A MASK THERES SIGNS EVERYWHERE YOU MUST BE STUPID!!!!!!.......so the woman is really frazzled by this and she goes okay i will go get it im so sorry etc etc. well the friendly usps woman goes well you can come back at 330 cause i wont be here util then. the woman said it will only take a couple mins and she already has a pre paid label. the usps workers response. well i wont be here next time dont be so stupid and maybe you would get it sent out on time. so all in all super great experience for everyone. read more

Woof. If you put Lynn up against a bag of potatoes in a personality contest. Potatoes WIN. 10/10 times

Today I didn't have a zip code for a package and Jaimi took the time to look it up for me! Most post office workers would have sent me home to do that myself. Glad I came in; sometimes I use other branches. read more

I was purchasing box to put something inside. The woman that work to the post told me this box won't fit your size and call me 'Are You Crazy Or What' I never experienced something like this read more

I don't get it. I really don't. For essentially what is a retail job this pays fairly. You even get a pension. Yet the post office attracts (or produces) the most unfriendly miserable people this side of the Dmv. Come in on an afternoon. There's literally no other customers there. Lady can't crack a smile, say hello, or muster any type of greeting. After getting and messing up on my priority overnight slip I kindly asked for another. Which was met with a deep sigh and her looking at her watch (its 1:35pm lady, not time to go yet) before begrudgingly handing it over. The effort really wasn't that much Lynne. Perhaps you'd rather work at Sears? I'm sure their hours and pay are much better. Anyway, 1 star for being open and not having any customers. Not the best sign of job security, huh? Only a matter of time before this is all automated anyway. Here's to the robots being friendlier. In the mean time, 0 stars for service. read more

Lynn (Lin), worst staff ever ever! she is very rude, doesn't do her work, refusing to answer customers question.... she would argue with customers, never look at people when talk, don't think about she would give u a smile. horrible person. can usps kick her off ? i have seem ppl complaining her everywhere, can't believe she is that famous! some even say they would travel to other branches just to avoid her, cant be worse!!!!!! read more

Lynn, the clerk that works at at this location has to be the most miserable, rude and racist woman I have ever met. When she worked at the main Union City post office, she was the same. I was relieved not to see her there but imagine my frustration to find her at the one in Weehawken? She NEVER finds my packages when it clearly says they are there. I have wasted HOURS thanks to her. Who is watching out for our rights? I have also seen her step on dozens of letters because she refuses to pick them up. Next time I am taking pictures. She clearly dislikes her job, so then maybe she should find a new on and stop bullying customers. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I absolutely would. The previous two old ladies that worked here were awful, but now the new lady IS EVEN WORSE! She constantly has her panties in a bunch, thinks her shit don't stink. Stop being so rude to people! read more

The worst customer service. I've never met a ruder person, she acts like doing her job is an inconvenience. I watched her yell at the little old lady in front of me because she was confused. This place is a block from my house but I guess I'll be driving to Hoboken or union city from now on. Wish I could give this place negative stars. My friends and family warned me about how mean and rude the staff was here but I didn't believe them... guess you have to see it for your self. read more

Do yourself a favor and go to Hoboken. The postal clerk here is extremely rude, miserable, unprofessional and acts as though doing her job is a favor to the world. This is her usual demeanor. More than twice, I walked in at approximately 10am, there were no other customers there and she was sitting down behind the counter. She takes her time getting up, acting as though I greatly inconvenienced her by showing up. No response to my "Good morning!" greeting. I was dropping off packages that already had labels on them, but I usually get a receipt as they are online purchases and without a receipt, I have no proof of mailing. She REFUSES to provide me with a receipt. I would understand if there was a line or even one other customer. But no, she just doesn't want to be bothered. How she is still employed after all these complaints is a pure mystery to me, but I will be filing one as well. read more

usually I have good service at this post office however on 5/15/14 i was dissaponted... I went there on the day mentioned at 11:45am for money order and the post office was closed....There were workers working in the celling and didnt even know why it was closed... Since when is a post office allowed to be closed on a buisness day??? read more

These idiots managed to lose 2 of my packages in a month. Do they investigate like they promise? BS. Do they call you back? Never. I would rather pay more than use this ridiculous USPS and specially these unprofessional weirdos who have no clue how to work and do their jobs. read more

Incompetent. Untrustworthy. Ill-informed. I registered and paid for a PO Box online. I could not print the form but was informed by other postal workers that the payment is confirmed via phone number so I could fill out the form in person. Well I get there and the clerk refuses to let me sign a form in person. Now, the in-person form is absolutely NO different than the online form, which has no different information, but she seemed to want to be petty and said well since you didn't print the online form I'm not going to let you activate your PO Box. HUH? the online form is NO different than a paper form. You're just being ornery. She said if I filled out a paper form she'd charge me for a new PO Box. I reached out to the local station manager/post master because I had already paid. I called the main office 7 times and no one ever answers (as others have pointed out), just lets it ring with no voice mail. Sloppy all around! If you look at this Yelp page and the pages of nearly every post office in the area, they all have 1 or 2 star reviews, and it's like the people who work there are perfectly okay with that, with being consistently called low-rate and incompetent. I don't see how you can go home proud of yourself that you run, work at, operate or manage a 1 star organization. Even the postmaster doesn't seem to care. Contrary to popular belief, postal workers are not underpaid and have benefits. There is no excuse for this except poor training, poor management and lack of accountability from the top. I canceled my PO Box application and opened one (with no issues!) in a completely different district in the city, because there is no way I'm doing business through this office or any other one managed by this postmaster if this is how we're starting off before I even sign up. Do your postal business in another area, outside Union City or Weehawken, if you can. I would not trust any of the ones here. If something goes wrong I doubt you will be able to even get in contact with anyone responsible or competent enough to do anything about it. In fact they may even vindictively make things more complicated, just for sport because they know no one will hold them accountable. read more

Worst clerk I've ever seen in my entire life. This short woman is so rude. Never smile or looks at you in your eyes when you're asking her questions. I never wish bad to people but seriously this one needs to be fired. Or not working with customers. The worst!!!! read more

Lynn, that works behind the counter, is extremely rude and difficult to deal with. She was eating a sandwich while sitting right in front of the glass at 2pm!! After she told me that my package "Wasn't there" She handed me 2 phone numbers that didn't work to try and get in contact with the route manager at another branch. After wasting 2 hours of my time researching the correct number, The route manager told me that she could confirm that the package was sitting right behind the counter at the park ave branch because she dropped it off herself!!! After I went back and relayed this message to Lynn the package mysteriously appeared !!! Could you imagine how difficult it must have been to put down the sandwich and spend an extra 3 seconds to look at an address? Lynn Cant! The sad part about all of this is that she probably gets great federal benefits yet still shows up to work every day horribly miserable, what a sad, sad way to go through life. read more

I used to think all post offices were bad, but now that I work in NYC and deal regularly with the one on Varick & Houston (which is busy but shockingly efficient, btw) I realized that maybe my local branches (Weehawken & main location @ Union City) are just so bad that I thought it was the entire system. I've had many problems with this location over the years, from long lines that move slowly because someone just decides it's break time even though there are 15 people waiting, to "missing" packages that eventually turned up in back right where they were supposed to be, to missing pink slips thus no notice that I missed a package which finally went back to sender after the 10 day period because nobody even told me I missed it! I'm reviewing them right now however because I'm so frustrated about my current situation, trying to retrieve a package which was supposed to arrive on Thurs 02/18. It apparently couldn't fit thru the mail slot (though this is debatable because it's a DVD in a small padded envelope) so I was left a pink slip on 02/18. I called on Friday to schedule redelivery for Saturday. Actually spoke to a person and was "assured" it would come Saturday. I sat around waiting for the mail Saturday and almost missed it because no one rang in any attempt to deliver a package, but i saw the mail carrier and ran down the street to her with my fresh new pink slip in hand. She was very nice and explained that the post office just gave her that slip this morning but no actual package, so apparently I'm getting a notice saying I missed the delivery, when there was no actual delivery. She promised to personally look for it Monday and bring it again. Fast forward to Monday. I'm not home but my neighbor made an effort to watch for it. Again... no package but another pink slip saying you missed your delivery! NO, I didn't miss my delivery, the post office FAILED to even attempt to deliver my package. Now it says it's going back to sender in 3 days and no one answers the phone (I've called at least 10x today so far) so I can speak to a supervisor about the situation. The whole thing is ridiculous! How can the post office pre-write a missed delivery slip and hand it to the carrier, when they don't know that morning if you'll actually miss your delivery or not?! I now understand the meaning of the phrase "go postal," which is clearly derived from the fact that dealing with the post office makes one lose their mind! ** Update: Spent another 40 min on the phone with USPS customer service (since Weehawken branch does not answer the phone) to get a redelivery set up for Tuesday 02/23. My neighbor stayed home all day with a sick child, and was watching for the package for me, but again no delivery. So on my Wednesday my neighbor (can I write her a review for being awesome?!) offered to take my ID and pink slips and brave the nasty weather to go stand in line in that hellacious place to pick up my package for me. She's about to walk out the door when the mail carrier shows up with... my package! Finally, except this was NOT the day they were supposed to redeliver. Not any of the 3 delivery dates we'd confirmed. So in the end, I'm happy we finally got it, but imagine if she'd left 5 min earlier and wasted an hour in line only to find out it was randomly out for delivery and would've been missed because she was at the post office trying to pick it up! Arrrgggh, this place could drive a person bonkers! read more

Terrible experience. Every. Time. Multiple packages not delivered and then when I call this post office, the woman tells me she can't help me track where my package is because "we don't get mail". Never have I received a failed delivery attempt notice but they always record that one was left! The first time I experienced the package issue I took time off of work to go back and forth between this location and the union city location. And neither ever found my package! A few weeks later a reimbursement appeared on my card statement so I assume they found it and sent it back without notification to me. Aside from being rude, unhelpful and not having any customer service, the hours are pretty frustrating. I actually check the shipping method when ordering online now, to ensure USPS is not the method of shipping. I know I'll never get the package if it is. read more

People have written horrible comments about a white lady that works there. There must be no confusion about her name Lynn because is the first time I see her showing the rudeness and bully behavior she displays. I must understand that she does not need to be nice at all if its not in her nature, but at least do your job madam and take a moment to look for the packages or letters that are in the branch. In my case, I received a note from the post office that a package was at that branch and the courier crossed it out the main branch address and wrote 4100 Park which is this branch. The lady asked me if I did that of crossing out the address. How could I do that? The courier gave me the info. She continues saying that the package was at the main branch without even taking a look there. Besides the manners, this is ilegal. She is retaining packages in some cases sensitive ones just because she does not do her job. The authorities at the Post Office must take notes of this and other complaints and make the necessary changes and eventually psychological evaluations of this angry personal because we suffer the consequences of such antisocial behavior. There are many good people looking for a job out there that might have the chance that this lady seems to dismiss. As many people said, worst service ever. read more
