UPS drop off? Not unless you'd like to do all the work yourself, including being told to go behind the counter and fill out your own shipping information on their computer. And of course, once I reached a certain point of inputting my own information I walked out from behind the counter and waited for someone else to walk up to help me. Because I don't know how to operate their computer system. I put the shipping address as the return address. To which the next individual said, "Oh you made a mistake. You put in the return address as a shipping address. Where are you shipping it to?" I SIMPLY POINTED AT THE ADDRESS THAT WAS IN BIG BOLD BLACK LETTERS THAT WAS ALREADY ON THE BOX. I stated, "Look, man. I'm just trying to ship a package. That's all I need to do." (I had my shipment, packed, labeled clearly with the address on the box! All of the information was there right in front of them.) I had absolutely no confidence in their ability to ship this package so I simply grabbed my package and said, "I think I'll go to an actual UPS store to make sure it's done right. I truly thought that if I walked in with the box ready to be shipped with a return address and the shipping address printed and taped to the box that it would be the simplest thing to do. I visited Staples to recycle pens. Nasir assisted me. He told me that my recycling the pens would earn me points at Staples. No other employee there had ever informed me of that. I didn't have a Staples rewards card. Nasir enthusiastically and quickly assisted me in setting up an account. He was so pleasant, courteous and professional. God knows how long theyve been doing this and you know whats worst Jersey City Police is no help either you show them your receipt in staples...they give you lecture such as you are not inside staples...you probably left staples...i was likeare you fucking kidding me...this is plain robbery in broad daylight....shame...such a shame... Super rude service at the printing services. Unwilling to help and turned me away when I needed very basic services.

Most of the time it will be just 1 working machine. U will b lucky if you find 2. It took half hour to take one print out.

Certainly better than the micro- and mini-stores in the city, this Staples tries to do a good job of being your traditional big-box office supply store. The paper section had some very helpful staff members for chosing the right paper and products for my printer, but the front staff members had difficulty helping me identify a replacement for my pen, so somewhat neutral on the help here, but overall everyone was friendly and seemed at ease. read more

Never go to this Staples for any passport photos. There is one guy who takes photos and he is really terrible at it. He takes extremely zoomed in photos and makes the coloring so bad that it looks almost unnatural. When I asked him about the glare on my photos, he said that we cannot have dark photos and you are dark. What a terrible human - mind you, the guy is brown so for him to make such a comment was all the more ridiculous. Anyway, avoid this place for photos. read more

I went to this location to make a large purchase for a new retail store, and the level of service was absolutely amazing--nothing I would expect from any place that isn't Trader Joe's. Freddy, a manager, was super helpful the whole time I was in the store, helped me find the items I needed, expedited my checkout process to make it as smooth as possible, and even loaned me a U-Boat to transport all of my items since there were no carts. The associate at printing services was also really nice, and got me the big order of copies I needed by the time I was done shopping. Super professional and friendly service, which makes all the difference. read more

The most ridiculous parking lot I have ever been. DO NOT try to park here for even 5 mins if you don't go to staples. They will tow your car without any notice. The sign for parking is only at one of the entrances and it is too dark to read at night. The place they store the car closed at 6PM and they tow your car at 7 PM, then they charge you two days of storage fee when you retrieve your car next morning. read more

Nerd alert, I am reviewing Staples. This is a good location. It has a lot of inventory and at pretty good prices. To be honest, I sometimes feel that Staples is on the higher end of the price scale in office supplies relative to other stores but, whenever I end up at this location, I find the prices to be quite reasonable and so many great items on sale. This time around I did a print order here. One of the only places I could actually find in Jersey City that has the capability to do this locally. The online ordering was kind of a pain: imagine sending 7 different emails each with a different file since the Staples server was unable to process large files. But, other than that glitch, the final product was done perfectly, the service was great and the price was right and done in a very timely fashion. Overall I'll utilize Staples for my next printing order and restock my office supplies while there. read more

Probably this one of the few Staple locations in Jersey which are accesible by public transportation. This store is at a walking distance from the Newport path station. I have been here a couple of times and to my surprise my wait times here to see a reprenstative were a lot less to the other staple stores I normally go to in New York. I needed to some stationery and few document scans. The staff behind the counter were quick and got me my scans done very quickly. read more

Been to this Staples a few times. The staff working are always very friendly and helpful. There were no lines so I was in and out quickly. They also carry a lot more items compared to other staples, they have office supplies, printers, lab tops, phones, office furniture such as chairs/desks, printing/scanning services and more! We returned to this store on 9/1/12 and had *much* better service. I ran in for just one item, while my husband stayed in the car because we were really rushed. I couldn't find what I was looking for, so I waylaid a young sales clerk and he was *terrific*; he had to go search for the item, but he found it fairly quickly and he was extremely pleasant. I felt compelled to tell the manager how great that employee was, and the manager was also really nice. I'm therefore upgrading my rating to four stars. (Update on 10/23/17): We've returned to this store several times and the employees have always been helpful & pleasant. read more

I wish I could say that I liked this staples, but it seems like every time I could here, there's an issue. For instance, I ordered an item to this location for pick up, and when I went to pick it up, they couldn't locate it... finally, a manager was able to locate it, but I'm not a fan of disorganization. Which brings me to my most recent visit(s) to staples: My fiance went to staples to have a poster printed. We brought the file in on a USB drive and asked the gentleman in the printing section of the store if he could print it. He seemed confused and basically told us no, he was unable to. Um, you are the printing section of the store, which advertises "printing services" how are you not able to print a file from a USB? Eventually, another employee came over to help. Of course we can print it, he said, no problem. We paid, got the receipt and were told to come back in two days, and would get a discount for the lost project. Three days later my fiance went back to staples, sans USB drive to pick up the poster. Why do I included sans USB? Well, when my fiance went to pick up the poster with the receipt, he was informed they were unable to locate the item, it was lost. Because he didn't have the USB on him, they were unable to reprint it right then, but told him he could come back with the USB. Great. We were unable to head back to staples right away, but imagine my surprise when a couple of weeks later, I get an e-mail from staples telling me my order is ready! So they found it! Yay! My fiance headed back to staples to pick up my poster. While, when he got there and showed them the e-mail, they once again, could not find my poster. Seriously? Luckily, my boyfriend had the USB on him. Three days later, we came back to pick up our poster. This time, the poster was located, but when we mentioned we were promised a discount the employee seemed unable to type it into the computer. Luckily, he called a manager over. The manager is the only reason I give this review two stars instead of one. After two lost poster, the manager took the charge of the poster completely off, and we only paid 50% of the frame. Bad Horrible Terrible Useless. I went to make copies before an important presentation, every single copier was broken. The person behind the counter was assisting even the first person on line waiting. I asked the guy in front of me how long he was on line, he just shook his head in frustration and said 20 minutes. I left right away and I will not go back. What is the point of having a self serve copy center if you can't make any copies or get help from anyone? I was late for my presentation because I had to find another place in a hurry. What a total waste of time!!!! read more

Whatever you do, don't go here! This is the worst customer service i have ever experienced, i have been told numerous times i would receive my refund of only $10.69 for same day business cards that were not ready the same day, i was not notified until i followed up on them that the machine was down, my issue is why couldn't they reccomend another location thats near by once they received the order, i was not contacted, i called numerous times and also went down there to show proof i was still charged even it was supposed to be cancelled and they told me to wait a few days, its still processing when it clearly isn't pending on my account The manager took my number he said he would call me in 10 minutes, this is the second time he has done this to me because i was told the same thing a few days ago over the phone where i wasn't greeted and it sounded like he was just a regular employee , i even brought that fact up, that i never received a call back after i was discconected when i was told i would he said he would call me back How do you run a business like this, if someone needed an order same day service they obviously NEED it the SAME DAY read more

The Jersey City Staples is one of the bigger locations and has a great selection of goods. Believe me, I've been to practically every Staples in Manhattan. They've somewhat turned into Starbucks with miniature stores every few blocks. Are they really doing that well? The Jersey City store has a huge office furniture section. Every chair you can imagine (including the Donald Trump line - no free toupe, sorry) and a pretty good variety of desks, file cabinets, and hutches. I had a difficult time deciding between the big expansive glass desk and small simple black desk style. Both were a hundred bucks. Staples has a great policy of free shipping on many of their items. The bad thing was that the item I wanted was either out of stock or in store only. Doh! Weeks later, I was able to get transportation to bring my desk home. The service here is great. The people are friendly, they try to help you, and they lift all the heavies into your car. Staples is like Target without the crowd. You can get almost anything basic here in terms of electronics, office supplies, and furniture. I got the bulk package of paper towels and scored on plastic tubs. $3 for a set of 6 plastic tubs ranging from shoe box size to 12 gallon totes. What a deal! It was kind of like the Walmart price sign where the prices keep dropping. It was for real. I did real good at Staples and so can you. Shop here. You won't regret it. read more

Totally unprofessional when it comes to customer service but exceptionally Pros at scamming customers with saying one thing in a return policy and actually processing something totally different. Then to top it off post one price on the shelf for MANY ITEMS and charge something different at the cash register. This location has only gone from bad to worse. Never Again. read more

Specifically, I have come here for some printing jobs and had bad experiences. I have had poor quality, missed instructions, and unavailability of machines/options. A few months ago I tried to use their self-service printer to print on card stock. Long story short I had an extremely frustrating time because the printer kept jamming after printing every page. The associates tried to help, but it was pointless. I had originally requested to print over 30 pages, but was only able to successfully get about 10 or 15. I asked the associate if I would get charged for the others that I did not print and she said NO. I said OK great thanks after 1/2 hour of trying to work with this pitiful machine I decided to go home because I thought I would only get charged for what I used. WRONG. When I checked my credit card statement the full amount was there even though I was unable to get the print job that I needed. It is ridiculous that this MULTINATIONAL company is just another corporation trying to milk the little guy's pathetic salary. read more

I came here to print multiple copies of 14 documents. I was here over an hour and could not complete a simple print job.... 3 out 4 printers were nonoperational. It appeared that only 1 of 4 employees was actively engaged. One employee was too timid to take questions and provide assistance. Disappointed. read more

Wish there was 2 and half stars but there isn't. So I rounded up. Service is lackluster at best but they do have office supplies I need to buy. Therefore they end up in the middle. Check-out always seems to be an adventure. A never ending adventure!!! Ha... Seriously. Everytime I get to checkout, the employees seem to be shocked that there are customers that need to pay for stuff. The Print Shop always seem to be staffed by that one person who truly truly hates their job. Steve, the Print Shop manager, seems to care about the customer, but unfortunately he is only one man. The photo and print services at this staples is the worst. I went to get colored copies of my passport size photos and they ruined it. The images were completely washed out. The person at the print center wasn't helpful at all. This place is a complete ripoff they charge $3 cutting out each passport photo. A charge they wont let you know exists until you print out your pictures. read more

I was printing out a digitally designed artwork and the poster was ready before I expected, which was awesome, and then when I got there Sameer at the printing center was super helpful and friendly. He saw that there were some small scratches on the original print, which I didn't even notice myself at first, and he printed out a second one for me very quickly and gave both copies to me. Horrible experience here. The staff is terrible and extremely slow. The photo staff are so slow, and they just keep recommending using their online services. I needed some notebooks, pens and a pencil case. I found the pens and notebooks easily enough, but the options for a pencil case were lacking. I also find that the aisles don't have the best labeling system. Every time I go here, I walk up and down to find what I want and then I usually end up asking for help anyway. The worst retail experience I have ever had. Went to get a package shipped, instead of helping me some kid in the print copy department got an attitude with me and told me I needed to use the automated system because he was too busy (I was the only person in line). After spending 30min trying to fugue out their system I printed my labels and and waited ten more minutes being ignored until I physically walked over to the associate and asked him if I did it right. He said I did and told me to get a box "Over there." There were no boxes in the size I wanted. After 10 more minutes of waiting to be helped I asked the manager (A frumpy looking guy in what looked to be sweat pants) for help. He told me I'd have to buy a box from a different part of the store. At this point I had been in the store for an hour and was 10min late to work. I told the manager forget it and left. Short story: Didn't have a good customer experience here, ended up buying the item I wanted on Amazon for almost half the price. Long story: I needed to buy a USB flash drive so I walked over to this Staples. I finally found a salesperson to show me where are the flash drives so he pointed at an aisle, then disappeared! Seriously I figured he'd at least open the glass cabinet so I can buy one, but nope - the guy disappeared - do I seriously have to walk around looking for another salesperson to open the cabinet?? Oh well, maybe he had a customer waiting at the front of the store, so I walked around looking for someone else but no one to be found, so I ended up doing the next best thing - went on Amazon and bought one online for half-the price, next day delivery. Then on the way out of the store, there's like 5 salespeople standing around by the registers chatting, come on!! Part of me is glad that guy didn't stick around to help me, since the price of the specific item I needed was way cheaper on Amazon. This place is only good for browsing. read more
