I came here to return an Amazon package and get a quote for shipping a package internationally. It's a small store and there was a short line. The Amazon return was a breeze. I love that they make it so easy to send items back. The cost for international shipping was absurdly high. The woman in front of me was also trying to send something overseas and balked at the price she was quoted. It was a few days before Christmas so I'm not sure if they were inflating their prices due to the holidays. Note that they determine their prices based not only on weight, but also on the dimensions of the package. So be sure to pack your items in the smallest boxes possible to get better rates. Despite the sky high prices, the employee who helped me was super friendly which made the experience pleasant overall. read more

I've been going to this UPS store location for almost three years already. Overall, I do not have many complaints (if any) and am satisfied with the service here. I've used their notary services, photocopy, fax, shipping, and mailbox services. When I have packages that arrive at the store, I'll get email notifications that packages are waiting. Recent Yelp reviews are poor, and I'm very surprised. I haven't had a problem here in the almost three years I've been a regular customer. I respect my fellow Yelpers' opinions; I guess I just have had a different experience. I will say in defense of the store that Journal Square can be a hectic place and the staff sometimes encounter some unnecessary aggression and rudeness. I've seen first hand where customers will come in and demand things in a gruff manner. And despite this, the staff do a fine job and keep things moving... I don't know, I still think it's a good store and way easier to mail things out here than at the Post Office across the street. It's still my go-to. read more

This review is not about the personalities in the UPS STORE... I'm reviewing my experiences with the parcel service this location provides. I should have listened to the other reviewers. If you want to mail something, I guess it's fine. But if you are a small business owner looking for safe, reliable, professional parcel/mail service this is NOT the place. I purchased a mailbox here in December. I moved into a new house and didn't want to use my home for my business address. So I went on the search for a service that provided a physical business address to ship packages and to serve as my legal business address. In this area the UPS Store is the only option. The first month was fine. I had a few packages shipped there. Over the month, I had gone serval times to pick up packages and the store wasn't open during the stated hours, or the representative had left for a break. So I waited or returned at another time to pick up. Unprofessional, inconvenient, but I still hadn't taken to writing a YELP review, yet. So, I ordered an iPad from AT&T for my business and had it shipped to this UPS Store (my business address) via UPS shipping. The next day AT&T sent me a notice stating the package was delivered. But I didn't get a notice from the UPS Store so I called...NOT THERE... I called throughout the day and was told the package was never delivered. Although the tracking number indicated the package had been delivered and signed for by the manager LIN (who had left for the day). The reps stated the package was not there. They couldn't help me, I should call corporate. What I found strange was the UPS Store reps couldn't figure out why I would have a package delivered to 924 Bergen Ave...asking me..."why would you have a package sent here without telling us". Needless to say I was so confused because I am mailbox holding customer...which I indicated every time I called in. I told him I pay to have packages delivered to your location...aka...my "business address". So long story, I spent my afternoon and the rest of my evening (while at work) calling back and forth between the corporate UPS offices (shipping) and the local UPS store (receiving) trying to get help. Corporate said..."LIN signed for 21 packages and yours is one of them...you have to call them"....UPS Store said..."we don't have it...you have to call corporate" AT&T did the best they could to help but it's out of their hands. They shipped it correctly. I filed a lost/stolen report with them. I have to file a police report (which I can't do until I'm off this weekend) to replace the device. So no real movement there until at least next week. Called the UPS Store this morning to speak with LIN and her explanation to me was this....exact words..."The UPS driver just leaves a bunch of packages when they deliver, the driver dropped a group of packages, I don't count each one...we just sign for what's supposed to be there." So basically she just confirmed...there is no real check-in of the packages at this store. Back to UPS corporate: UPS Corporate says it was delivered and there not be a claim of a missing package because the store signed for it. Back to UPS STORE: The UPS Store said that the package is not there and only thing they can offer is $100 reimbursement, that's offered for lost packages. The device was worth $1200. So I am basically screwed. And that's it. My feeling is that someone just entered the store and took it. People float freely around that store all the time. So it likely was just taken by a random person, another customer or maybe even an employee. I am filing a police report to try to get help on the AT&T side. But basically that is the only resource I have. I am posting this detailed review because I'm a small business owner just hoping for adequate service. We are a small nonprofit organization and don't have money to burn (we survive on donations). I am personally out of $1200 and the almost $500 I paid for the mailbox because nothing of value can ever be shipped here. Honest reviews will help small businesses make good, finically sound choices. Resources are limited spend well! read more

I needed a notary, documents printed, and shipping services, all at the last minute on a Saturday morning, and the staff at this location was super friendly, very helpful, and patient. I was able to get everything done in a reasonable amount of time. What I needed done was kind of pricey but that's no one's fault, they don't set the prices. Very slow and unnecessary rude and unwelcoming store, and the lady named Ida interjected her opinion while I was speaking to Steven/Steve . She had the nerve to whistle trying to brush me off. Instead of just letting Steve look for my package that was delivered yesterday but just not scanned due to a late delivery. Stupid and and not polite they always acting rude so they will get the same treatment from me now. This store should definitely hire more staffing and retrain employees on how to deal with people doing AMAZON returns and pickups. Thanks to Steven/Steve for being polite. read more

Extremely rude Costumer Service. After waiting for an entire day on a delivery that should have happened between 1:30pm and 5:30pm, I called to make sure the delivery still happened. I have been called back by an extremely rude woman who told me that the delivery would happen at 7pm. In the attempt of making things clear, willing to wait for the deliver outside my door from 6:45, she started interrupting me repeating that it will be there at 7pm, however with no guarantee. So I tried to ask her to buzz at my intercom and she kept interrupting me repeating the same message above. Just after I kindly pointed out her rudeness she let me speak and finally heard what was my suggestion. She told me that she would let him know and then hanged the phone, without letting me add anything else. read more

It is important for people to note that the UPS store at least in South Plainfield holds Amazon Returns until they fill a certain amount. The tracking number is then changed and you have no way to know if/when your Amazon product is returned for a credit or refund. This is not explained to you at the time. This is a very shoddy service and should be stopped. It should be reported to Amazon for correction. People need to know about this practice. read more

Bottom line: I'd say there's a 70% probability that something will go wrong if you use their services. Unless you have no other options, don't use this store. I have dealt a lot with this store for print jobs and the service has varied from "middling" to "atrocious." I've had to ask for multiple reprints of documents they messed up. At least simple B&W portrait prints of text are pretty hard for them to screw up, but anything else is a tossup. Recently they managed to F up something as simple as mailing a flat mailer. read more

This store rents out PO Boxes so that fake businesses like Doman Registry in Box #289 can be a fraud. The store knows this but they let it go. They don't care if someone is using their business as a front to a fraud. I'm surprised they don't run some Ponzi schemes out of here. Probably do come to think of it. read more

Went to the UPS store to send fragile contents to a friend who recently moved to the west coast. As she entrusted me to make sure her precious cargo was delivered to her, I was very nervous about who I should trust with this task. The UPS store staff was very helpful and understood my plight. They were able to pack and ship for a very reasonable price (I was actually surprised). They also provided me with a timeframe for packing and delivery. Do Not have anything sent to this Store they will not hold your package for a pickup fee like other stores will do. If you do send something their you will never see your package. This store will only allow you to send items to the location if your paying the monthly fee for a box. read more

I visited this UPS store on 12/3/2016 and understand the rush due to the holiday season. After waiting patiently in queue for 15 mins, when I went to the counter and showed the package I had to send the person starting giving explanation that ground transportation are being delayed due to the holiday rush and taking double the time. My response was - "Have you reduced your prices by half because you're delivering packages at half the speed" to which he smirked and said "No - that's holiday season in America". The cost for 2 day ground transportation was quoted as $23.something for UPS. I rejected that and said I'd rather use USPS. Went to USPS at 69 Montgomery St and it cost me $6.45 flat rate priority mail guaranteed delivery in 2 days - no excuses given. Instead the staff was so courteous and helped me with the entire procedure. Would highly recommend people to use USPS instead of UPS - UPS is just for big corporates like Amazon, Costco, etc. which have the muscle to bargain cheaper rates. read more

Sent a document over for printing, and their computer misprinted it. Tried to tell them that their printer was misprinting the document - and it was their fault. Rather than look into the issue, they tried to charge six dollars for printing a three-page document and insisted that their printer was not at fault, when clearly the document had been showing up correctly elsewhere. A bunch of nasty, overzealous, know-it-alls who were promptly reported to the owner of the store. Even the manager herself couldn't use common sense to figure out that the customer was right. Disgusting experience. This place is run by angry, awkward, young boys with sweaty glasses and bad attitude problems. Go elsewhere. read more

Worst UPS store I ever dealt with. The guy behind the counter was rude and misleading. He said the only way we could get a print was via email. Later when I asked him if we could use a flash drive, he said yes. Then held my flash drive as ransom so I wouldn't bolt with my prints. Said they didn't print double sided and charged 13 dollars for a $5 job. Condescension was just free. One of the worst ever. read more
