If you are nice to them, they are nice to you. I don't think I was always nice to them so I don't know when I decided to just not be such an ass but it has worked in my favor many, many times over. When I sent out my first wave of wedding invitations I asked Rosa (Who is usually at the last station at the far right) if she could hand cancel my invites because I didn't want them to get eaten by the machine and she did it! Pete (who got transferred to Miller Place) also helped me out with the invite situation. They've looked in the back for empty boxes for me to ship things and always go above and beyond to help me. This PO use to have one of those automated machines but it's gone now which sucks. I have to head over to Smithtown on 111 for that. It's a small PO but if you're just sending things out and picking up it works just fine!

I have encountered a different postal worker each time and I must say each experience has been pleasant. It's always clean and the workers are always welcoming. They try to their best to help you with what you need. This post office always open on time and someone is always at the counter. Now with that being said. I only visited in the morning at 9:00 when it opens. I cannot speak for customer service later in the day. Hopefully that will not make a difference

I kindly asked the miserable employee with a puss on his face if he could put some tape on the bottom of my package to secure it and he replied "we are a no tape office " .....ummm what the f$@k??? He proceeds to tell me I can purchase packaging tape but he just sold the last one . Again WTF??!!!! He then rolls his eyes at me walks away and comes back with a big roll of packaging tape and secures my package. Now was that so hard? Why he had to make a production out of it was beyond me. I have been going to this Post Office for years and have come in contact with some nice and not so nice employees but he was the worst. Also, I have NEVER had an issue with a simple little thing called TAPE at a post office. And whatever happened to "how can I help you" when greeting a customer and when you are done with your transaction how about "have a nice day" . Apparently those words don't exist in miserable employee #20 vocabulary. I will not return to this Post Office again . Why go somewhere when you KNOW you are going to get treated like crap. Lines move fast because the postal workers know what they are doing. The location is on Montauk Highway and therefore is easy to find. Parking is plentiful and is on a relatively small lot. Coronavirus Alert: A clear shower curtain drapes in front of the front counter. The floor is marked with green Xs, and six feet measures the distance between each X. Bring disposable gloves if you plan to pay for your transaction by machine.

Carriers try to cram mail that is really a package into your box so you risk breaking your mailbox in an effort to try to remove it, Also, I live in a large condo community and routinely get other people's mail in my box--sometimes the mail is for someone that lives in the same zip code, but not in our community! Most recently the carrier was parked in the middle of the driveway that I must pass through in order to get to my unit. She was talking to a resident who was also parked alongside--there was no way to go around either of them. I actually had an important conference call that I needed to join and It took them several minutes to finish their conversation and get out of the way. When I honked my horn, the postal carrier glared at me! Unprofessionalism, lack of quality, lack of consideration and half-assed service. It's the wave of the future! Oh wait, it's already here thanks to government agencies like the post office.
