This Post Office is located in the San Leandro Plaza and is open on Saturdays!! When I do have to mail a package, this is where I go!! The main reasons for that is that they usually have multiple windows open and they are open on Saturdays, the only day that I really have time for this. Now, sometimes on said Saturdays there's a long line here, but it moves along decently. The postal workers here are friendly and polite also!!

He temper tantrumed and canceled all of my orders.

I had the MOST appalling service from a postal worker here (see the second paragraph!). After "helping" me with my packages for an hour, he couldn't figure out how to ship out a small parcel to the UK. He had me fill out several forms and change envelopes twice, and he finally decided he didn't want to do it and he essentially threw a temper tantrum: He canceled EVERY SINGLE PACKAGE he scanned into the database (and hour's worth of work!) and then wanted to send me back into a long line to get help from someone else. This was totally out of left field, I was there with two small children, and when I said it didn't make sense for me to have to have all that work canceled only to go back into a very long line, he stuck out his hand in my face and screamed, "talk to the hand! Get back in line!" over and over. The most curious thing is that I followed all his directions, I was respectful; I did nothing to provoke this. He just got frustrated and couldn't handle himself. He continued his tantrum, cursing at me in front of my 2 and 4 year old. I was so shocked that I did nothing but cry silent tears in frustration at this treatment. People in line were shocked too, and they were taking his name down. Meanwhile, after reversing all my charges, he up and left. The other worker helped me out, saying that this other guy just "gets like that sometimes." In what world and in what job is this acceptable? Talk about feeling vulnerable in a place where they know where you live! This guy is unsafe and should NOT be allowed to work with people.

The only USPS location I've been to in the Bay Area that charges you for a receipt when dropping off a package.

Why is there a USPS in the middle of nowhere?!?! Part of the reason I came was just to see if Google was wrong, lol. Quality/Quantity - Keep in mind I am grading on a curve... The low rating is due to the comparison with all the other Post Offices that I frequent... See other reviews; Reno (3 Stars) and Alameda (4 stars). The lobby is not open 24/7. I guess I am spoiled with my Alameda and Reno post offices. I made the mistake on the 1/20/25 (a holiday) of trying to drop off letters (5 inches worth; I know, due to my travels, I have not checked my mail for a long time) and a package in 3 SL post offices. Atmosphere - Decent size lobby, again too bad they were closed. No homeless here today, but I am imagining that is why they are closed during non business hours? The other two SL USPS that I went to today had homeless people. Plenty of parking since this is a hidden location... One way in and out. Well it is supposed to be... Service - 2, barely good enough. Not even any self service... Price - N/A, see their websites. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1971 (formed in Washington DC) with your $80B in revenue. Much controversy about your profitability or lack of it. This is an "independent" agency of the executive branch of our US government. You have an amazing history dating back to 1775, but I will not go into that here.

I have no idea. I've been there many times where they or customers are raising their voices at each other and I could def understand their frustrations. I've been lucky in that I only have to mail out prepaid packages but the complaints I've heard while standing in line gives me enough pause to consider going to any other location for anything else.

For whatever reason people drive the wrong direction in the parking lot regularly. Small post office. Usually only one person working here. I suppose you could complain its small or just be thankful that it exists in the first place. If you have a PO box here it is unavailable for access unless the whole place is open for business. I've seen other post offices where you could access your PO box for hours sightly longer. The whole post office is closed for lunch. This is something you only have to deal with because it is so small. During the Christmas holidays be sure and send out your mail early. Like I said - one man team and the line can get krazy. San Lorenzo might be a better option during the holidays.

This time, he entered the wrong country. D: The package was sent out over a month ago, and my friend still hasn't received it yet. Luckily, I still had the receipt, checked it, and found that a different country was written on it. I usually go to a different post office, but their system was down that day, so I went to this one again. He's always on his phone and even told me to hold on to pick up a call. While I try to be patient and understand that it might have been an important call, judging by the other comments, I don't think so. Now, trying to recall the situation, I don't think he even asked me to verify the address. However, the package and the form I had to fill out were definitely correct because I had handwritten it. I called customer service, and they were super friendly. Unfortunately, all I can do now is wait for that country to send it back to me or eventually deliver it to the correct country.

This has happened to me before, and my packages ended up getting mixed up, which is why I made the request in the first place. What made the experience worse was the response from the employees. The woman assisting me and a tall older man with white hair behind the counter laughed and made dismissive comments such as, "Oh, come on! We're UPS, we know what we're doing!" Regardless of where you work, mistakes can happen, and customers should be treated with respect when they're simply trying to avoid a problem. It's not unreasonable for a customer to want a little peace of mind, especially when mistakes do happen. I took my other package and left. For reference it was not busy at all. I was the only customer in the store at the time.
