A few years ago I had a package sent that the sender forgot to include my apt number on. My regular mailman had the day off and I just happened to be grabbing the mail and saw that the package was not delivered. We tracked it and saw it was being sent back the the sender, so we rushed to the post office. The person behind the counter got the tracking info from us and decided to check for it and found it right away. Another time recently my mailman saw me near the mailbox and gave me a shout because he had a package that was too big for my mailbox and would've had to be picked up from the post office otherwise. This location does get really busy, there are a lot of apartments nearby in walking distance. Sometimes they are understaffed, but that is the case almost everywhere. Everyone I have worked with here has been professional.

The lines may be long and thus this location gives a new meaning to the term snail mail. It's a pretty large facility, taking up most of the block, with numerous post offices boxes serving the folks in the Fan. The parking lot, while fairly sizable, needs repaving so watch those potholes. Many wonder why this post office is dubbed "Stewart Station" which is a mystery I'm willing to unravel. Stay tuned! The customer service is pretty common, good days and bad days. There are letter drop boxes out front and there are handicap railings for accessibility to the building. Hours M-F 9-5, Sat 9-12. This is located near Broad st. on 2nd. We always walk here, but there is free street parking in front. They also have a USPS collection box out front. We've recently come here to get stamps for our wedding. I also love that I rarely wait in line at this location. The service is good and quick here. It's kind of tucked away on 2nd street. I didn't know it was here even though I'd been working on 3rd street for months. It's right across from the Wachovia. Tiny yellow brick building, no distinguishing it from the closed buildings on either side of it. They have a very small amount of PO boxes and the counter clerk office is nearly always totally deserted. Except around the first of the month. Then they're packed with people getting money orders and sending them out. They drop the cash immediately into a safe below the counter so don't get any funny ideas criminals. There are mailing supplies here and a letter drop box but no other special services. The clerks tell me that when the post office restructures "soon" they're closing this office.
