Depending on my errands on the day, I frequent this post office or the one at Wards Corner. This one is usually a bit faster to get in and out and the postal workers that I've encountered here are always helpful and pleasant to deal with. If you're there around Christmas, expect lines...long ones...but that should not be a surprise to anyone!! :) read more

Door says they open lobby at 9am. 925am still locked. there is a notice saying they are now closed from 130 to 3pm for lunch.

What a pleasant trip to the post office. How I miss this location aka my old post office. No line and the workers were so helpful.

Customer service is hit or miss. Some clerks are very nice, others seem to hate their job and make it very clear to customers. Don't be surprised if wait time is 30 mins with only one register open and clerks making small inane talk amongst themselves and unable to do so while continuing ing to serve customers. read more

I try to avoid this postal service branch whenever I can--customer service here is consistently terrible and completely illogical. The staff shows snarky looks, impatient body language, and today the woman behind the counter literally tossed my package into a bin behind her. I had a bizarre experience where while waiting for service (the only competent employee was assisting another customer and had to ask her coworker to help me as the line grew), this coworker wouldn't look at or talk to me and prolonged the visit by pausing to chat with another worker about the color of her energy drink. At some point, she shouted "HEY MOM? HOW YA DOIN'?" into her phone, even though there was no one on the line - as if to antagonize me for being there. When she finished scanning my items, she looked away, crossed her arms, and held the receipt out to me. She made me feel like a pest. I wasn't angry or impatient and never said a word to her or anyone else during my visit, but I sure left feeling angry/bitter. read more

Made an appointment for passport and got confirmation of the appointment. Took a day off of work to get this complete and the 1 person at this location wasn't even there and no employee could tell me when she would be back. Just baffles me that even scheduling an appointment the person is not available. Waste of time and effort. read more

If you need a passport, do NOT come here expecting people to know how to help you, or even what the fees are. Why on earth have a passport office when you can't staff it with someone who knows what forms to fill out or even how much it costs?! read more

This place is a nightmare. I use amazon when I can and now order stamps online. The lady there can be friendly but then when line is backed up because of lack of staff please just do your job and stop the chatter so we can take care of our business. Also sent my mom in to mail Normal letter to Europe that usually is one stamp and she charged my mom For two stamps saying it was too heavy. It was the same that I always mail. Then when my mom questioned her she copped an attitude. This kind of place makes me use ups and other services. If you want to keep your jobs have a better attitude. read more

I receive a notice that my package wasn't able to deliver and to come pick it up at my USPS location. I come and the lady at the front was rude as hell. I understand people don't want to work during this pandemic but that doesn't give anyone the right to treat others like shit. I was polite, kept my distance and yet she had the audacity to slam the door in my face and give me a attitude for being there to begin with. No wonder this place has a 2.5 star review. Don't work for an essential place if you can't even be polite and understanding. I'm simply doing what my email told me to do. read more

So I have a love hate relationship here with this center. I love how it is so close to my apartment. If I needed stamps, well, I just go down the street. If I need to pick up a package... it's right there! The problem is with their carriers and the person who is in charge. Carriers from this center are awful and never deliver the packages to my door unless I complain. After complaining to the manager, I was told that this was somehow my fault. Curious! I soon learned from the Richmond center that this wasn't their first complaint! Anyways, if they just adjusted their attitude and did their job delivering packages, I don't see why they couldn't get all 5 stars, but alas, I have been disappointed over and over again by their inability to do their job... delivering packages. I have lived in this area for years now, 3 to be exact. My apartment building has a security door which keeps the building locked. The landlord has put a key on file at the local office and the drivers are supposed to access the building to deliver mail with the key, this includes parcels. For some reason they keep either losing the key or not grabbing the key which means no mail for the building and there's four units here. At one point we didn't get mail for three weeks because they lost the key and didn't leave a note on the door letting us know. I found out only because I was expecting a package and saw that it had an alert citing that the mail man couldn't access the building. This happened numerous times and I finally called the 800 hotline because the local office never answers. They filed a complaint and someone called me saying they didn't have the key. The last driver that showed up almost a month prior either lost it or didn't turn it in and we went without mail delivery. My landlord made a new key and dropped it off at the post office. Here we go again. I'm expecting a parcel and I get an alert telling me that there was an issue accessing the building. I called the 800 hotline, waited for 40 minutes and the agent created a new complaint. I asked to be called and no one ever did. I was home when they tried to deliver the parcel and because I know their antics with not coming with a key I was waiting in my living room for them to show up so that I could intercept. From 4:20 pm - 7:30 pm I waited and nothing. A few days before that I had another smaller package delivered and it said "out for delivery" for a full 24 hours before it was delivered so because the status didn't change to show an issue I assumed they would deliver the next day, no big deal I guess. So, I check the tracking this morning and it updated to not being able to access the building and said they came at 6:47 pm or something to that affect. Mind you, I was waiting and no one ever knocked. I was in my living room which is close to the security door and I can usually hear knocking at that door. I also find it super strange that the delivery status didn't update until the next morning. For two years I didn't have issues. We had the same driver who understood how to do his job and things were fine. Suddenly he left, another guy took over the route which was fine, he left and now there seems to be consistent issues and this was happening way before the pandemic so they can't use that as an excuse. I don't know what goes on with the hiring practices for that location but I'm tired. It's getting so that I'm going to have to pay for a P.O Box to re-direct my mail. Makes me wonder what they're around for if they don't want to do their job. I am starting a business and no way can I depend on supplies being delivered by them because they play too many games with not delivering my mail consistently. I literally never know there's an issue with the mail delivery service until I have a package and I get weird messages I shouldn't be seeing. Get it together and stop playing with our mail over here! read more

I am entirely okay with an employee having their break time, but, maybe consider cross-training so that with one leaving another can take their place, especially with a long social distancing influenced line going out the door? Also, when a customer indicates they are hearing impaired and asks you to repeat what it is you said, don't play the tedious break.down.every.word.in an exaggerated manner game. It's beyond rude. Having now experienced for myself that the 20th Street location has "issues" I will be taking any future business to the one downtown by the Slover Library or the location across from the Town Center WalMart. I received a parcel of registered mail which I was unable to sign for at the time. The mail was then dropped off at this location, however when I went to retrieve the parcel 7 days later, I was told that the clerk had sent it back to Israel after ONLY FOUR DAYS in the office instead of the REQUIRED 15 Days or so she told me. So all she said was that it's "not OK" and that I should just contact the seller and attempt to get a refund. I was flabbergasted at how unprofessional and inefficient the staff was. If there were 0 stars I would give that out; since they messed up definitely should offer to pay postage and refund me. read more

Wait lately has been at least an hour. I tried to get a re-delivery through the website and through the phone and it failed every time leaving me to wait an hour in line to pickup my packages. This the picture of inefficiency and is why our ancient post office system is losing 8+ billion a year and needs to be privatized. What a mess. read more

The postal carrier who delivers mail consistently puts letters in the wrong box of the community box. I frequently delivered mail to my neighbors in the condo complex and even the apartments across the street. Some of my bills have been returned to the sender resulting in them being turned over to collections. When I traded my last car it, the previous finance company received an overpayment from the dealership and the refund was sent back resulting in the funds being turned over to the Commonwealth's unclaimed property department. My hold mail requests were never honored; when I returned from vacation my mailbox would be overstuffed. read more

This place is a joke...you need an appointment for a passport; but they don't ever answer the phone. Walked in on a Wednesday afternoon, place was dead....neither one of the women offered to help. I know all postal employees have to be trained to issue passports; these women were just pure lazy. I was told that I needed to go to the Tidewater location for a walk-in and "I better hurry!" The 2 ladies that always work the counter here are very helpful and nice. But they're overworked! It's always so busy. I go to this location most because it's so close to my house but sometimes it's faster to go to the one on Church St even if I have to drive that extra mile. If they hired 1 more employee it would make a big difference. read more

I don't know why but I always have anxiety about visiting USPS, Fedex or UPS locations because the employees always seem like you're wasting their time. Loretta, I believe her name is, was very patient and courteous with helping me send my package across the country. I wish all employees in her position were as helpful.
