I was only missing a front and back copy of my ID and birth certificate for the passport process and instead of offering to make me a copy that would take less than 5 minutes as i'm sure the postal office has a photo copy machine to do so I was told at 12:35pm 10 minutes early to my scheduled appt time that was for 12:45 pm that if I could go run to UPS store that was 10 minutes up the street and make a copy and be back by my 12:45 pm appt time that she would do my appt still. I don't know if she lacked sense as well but that wasn't feasible. she then followed it by "it says it on the paper right there" which wasn't necessary as again I wasn't holding anyone up the postal office was empty. she also referred me to the circuit court which again I felt she just kept adding to my frustration. I can accept the full responsibility for not obtaining a copy but I can't accept the blatant disrespect followed behind it. I would NEVER send anyone here to deal with her lack of human decency.

Always professional, know what the heck they're doing/talking about, and the line moves quite smoothly, unless of course a customer comes in who has no idea what they're doing which is on the customer, not the employees. Could the USPS in general be better? Sure. Anything government could be. But in my experience with post offices in a few different cities/states, this branch does a helluva job. This branch does not have a package drop-off bin in the lobby, which was a surprise to me for such a large branch. So if you need to drop off a package that is larger than the standard mail drawer after hours/on the weekend, you're SOL.

Well...the office we were at, unfortunately, didn't have the size box that my sister suggested. The Clerk there however (didn't catch her name), took the time to weigh the content of what I wanted to ship and then suggested the best way for me to send it. Basically, saved me a bunch of money. It was just wonderful to find such awesome customer service at a Governmental Agency. This lady pretty much bent over backwards to assist me. All I can say is Thank You very much. Customers will need to drive in back to enter. The lot is huge and signage is over the door. Of note this is the only passport service on the Southside. Appointments are highly recommended, but when slow they will take walk-in. Customers can compete forms online or in person. Check or debit card appear to be the only two forms of payment. Cash was not discussed however. There is plenty of seating as the area is spacious. Two agents were working and luckily caught at a slow weekday. The wait was short, the process easy and the customer service exceptional. My daughter who is 18 will have her passport in around six weeks. She also opted for a second form of ID the passport card. It's the size of a drivers license. It's somewhat newer. You can bring your own photo of official size, or opt for the agent to take. If picky bring your own, the photo for my daughter came out extremely light. My experiences with the post office have been average to weak, so this is a huge bump in confidence for the U.S. Postal Service. Also of mention for those that need documentation they can obtain online through Vital Check. I requested a Yelp edit to add passport services. Full 5 stars.

I've been trying to find ways to send digitally the few payments that had to go by check. I've succeeded with most. This certainly isn't the normal way to start a review by saying I never wanted to use it again. But I have a really good reason. Earlier this year I dropped a quarterly Virginia Estimated Tax Payment into the outside drop box as I've done for many years. A few days later I saw it clear my bank in a different manner than the City Treasurer's checks normally clear. It was also much earlier than the checks are normally deposited by that department. I looked at the check on line & it had been washed & a person's name written in. The endorsement was for a mobile deposit to a local credit union. So the person still had my physical check with my address. It took months to deal with all the fallout. My wonderful TowneBank banker worked with their fraud department but my account number had to be changed, which created a plethora of digital payments & charges that had to be changed. The Postal Inspector & the Virginia Beach Police had to become involved. I was instructed to keep my file with all the credit bureaus closed unless someone needed to pull a credit report. The police department gave me logins where I could do this without a charge. I learned that this had happened at other Post Offices, some of which had covered their outside drop boxes. But the Bayside PO's is still is open. My banker's assistant would check my old & new accounts every day and then check with me to make sure everything was an authorized charge. Months of my life were lost dealing with this. So my advice is DO NOT ever put anything in the outside box at this Post Office. Always go inside. Be safe and careful there.
