A man at the window who's caring for the all customers as well as make sure that everyone get quicker service possible. Customers are non-judgmental vibes. I use here time to time late afternoon. At least 1-2 customers and not even long wait time. They sell occasional cards and post office items tapes/envelopes etc Remember that this location close at 5:30pm not 5pm :) and easy access from MTA. *not even 1 block. In the neighborhood, grocery stores, restaurants, fast foods, Panda Express, Macdonald, Popeyes supermarkets; target, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, cafe; Starbucks etc..... super convenient walking distances Hope my reviews are helpful. read more

U.S. Post Office 14th Street branch was convenient when I was shopping Union Square. It's typical no frills service. You get what you need and don't dare take photos in the post office. And the employee there blamed me that " It was you do not pay attention to your package". I asked her manager's phone number. She wrote down this for me. When I call the number, in case your conversation be recorded, the manager asked me to call her private number. And then she pretended that she is not the manager and I called a wrong number. Employee from 335 E 14th St location refused to get my envelope simply because I filled the certified mail form at the cashier. She kept refusing to take it just because I filled right there when she told me to step aside. She changed the cashier and kept refusing to take it. These 2 employees that were working at this location on May 1st around 4:20 - 4:25pm feel empowered to do and say whatever they want, humiliate and act abusively towards customers. In detail: The employee on the left cashier wasn't taking my envelope and said " you were not taking me serious when I said I'm not taking you". Refused to take my envelope changed to the middle cashier kept refusing to take my envelope and went back to the cashier on the left while refusing to take my envelope. Threatened me to call security as I insisted for her to take my envelope after I stand in line and the humiliation kept going as she switches cashiers all of this because I filled the certified mail form at the cashier when she told me to step aside. This happened between 4:20pm to 4:25pm on May 1st 2020. I then went to cashier on the right who also treated me with arrogance and said "you're still talking". I got my receipt at 4:25pm. I've seen multiple people being humiliated at this location. We must put a stop. I filled an online form complain with USPS and I'm now on the phone with them proceeding with my complain. If you were humiliated at this location you should do the same. We must stop this abusive behavior from employees at this location towards customer. read more

Since I get off work after 3 I tend to use this branch of the post office. This is one of the worst places to conduct mailing services. The Clark's are rude. Ppl don't social distance. The lobby is always dirty. There is a man standing at the door daily begging for change. Most of the time you can't find proper mailing labels and priority boxes. I'm so upset that this the closest post office for me to utilize. Suggest if you have to use the post office go elsewhere. read more

Other reviewer said the employees move in slow-motion, and that could not be more spot on. I had to return something with a QR code, so with only 3 people in line I thought it shouldn't take too long. Not even kidding if they had metrics on how long it took them to process each person they would average at least ~9 minutes a customer. My goodness I should have gone to a cvs, bought some lighter fluid, and just lit my stuff on fire rather than waste so much time trying to return it at this USPS location. Not to mention one person said she could only sell stamps and couldn't do a return package, I call fake news because she clearly just didn't want to do her job. This experience will influence the next time I buy something because I will make sure returns are done through UPS, FedEx or any other service. That being said, I would recommend this location to a friend... only if that friend harvested my non-essential organs while I slept. Sad! read more

The 30-something chubby black woman with the long straight hair was SO rude to the woman in front of me, like antagonizingly rude, then was damn snippy to me as well. I got out of there as soon as I could. She just seemed to be looking to argue with customers. I sent a package with the wrong address but it was not my fault. The tracking just says it went to a post office at 10009. There are two post offices but did not show in tracking. Then there was return to sender processed due to incorrect address. I keep hunting for the package but the post office cannot tell me where the package is. I filed a claim online but no response. Earlier some email from customer relations said they will get to the bottom of it but another email said go file a claim. So where is my package ? Thumbs down for usps. read more

I'd occasionally gone to the old location of this post office and it was rather miserable. Today was the first time I went to the new location and I hope it's the last, since - with the exception of a nice youngish guy - the other workers were awful. In particular, the woman at the main window was a nasty b--ch. Also, the line for package pick-up became longer and longer during the 15 minutes I was in the regular line. In fact, a woman at the head of the package pick-up line who was waiting for the package person to find her package was literally standing there for nearly the entire time I was at the post office - and she kept apologizing to everyone else in the package pick-up line, although certainly it wasn't her fault. The *only* positive aspect of this post office is that it's clean (due to its newness) - although it's tiny, which isn't good when hordes of people are waiting in lines. read more

Slow as hell. Impersonal. It took ten years for me to get a refund on a service that the post office didn't deliver for me on time. My interaction with the lady at the window went fine until the end, when I asked for my receipts back for my records. She said, 'Oh, we don't have copies of those and what if you go to another post office and try to get another refund?' WRONG response... My reply, in a defensive manner, 'You should have copies of those, I GET those back. And WHY would I do that? You have proof of me coming here. You have a receipt of the transaction.' How dare this stupid idiot assume that I'd do that. What gall & lack of class. This could have quickly escalated to a 'fuss out, cuss out.' It took 30 damn minutes for the entire interaction which should of only taken 10 minutes. That was a clear giveaway that she didn't have trust in the system, that tabs are not kept on things within the system like they should be, and she didn't trust her own work. Pathetic. read more

This Post Office has never been particularly clean. I do not use windows only kiosks. No enforcement of mask wearing. Loud talker in lobby mailing packages with no mask. So unsafe. I asked worker if mask wearing was enforced. Her reply was we are too short staffed and if you don't like it go to another post office. I don't doubt that location may be short staffed, but that was not helpful. In summary, it is a dirty, unsafe post office and has some rude employees. read more

Completely empty waiting 20 minutes and the ladies chatted about social media gossip while I am asking for help, tell me to wait and then start talking to the women who enters twenty minutes after me. I had to ask for my form back so I could come back another time so I didn't run late for work. Just always a stressful experience. If you live in the east village, you may find notices left in your mailbox from USPS that say 1st attempt when no attempt has even been made. I have cameras and a camera door bell which would show if anyone had rang it or been there. Also I still checked the time stamped on the notice and video footage reconfirmed that they lied, didn't have my package and that they weren't intending to deliver anything. The notice further says oversized package. It's not a refrigerator it's a bunch of shoes. But this has happened before, it's USPS policy to lie but complaining, no matter to whom on the chain, leads nowhere except loss of huge amounts of time and added frustration. There was one time where it took over a month to redeliver my package, because that's what happens with a package that they never intend to redeliver and you bust an artery trying to get someone at that location to listen. So while I was writing that review, still unresolved, I get a new package. The carrier said he had no knowledge about yesterday's package. While I'm talking to him I show him the "ring doorbell and leave package behind gate" sign I made and he said that he had done that before and handed me my package. I forgot to ask him if he knew who'd bring my third package that was also due for delivery today. Hours later I get a notification that my package could not be left due to unsecured location. But I've been home all day. It said notice of attempt left but I ran out from within seconds of getting it and stood out there 5 minutes and saw no one. So they're (falsely) scanning packages while they're not even around. I called back Usps to put another complaint and learned that the redelivery of the other package I put in for was not done correctly by the previous person. I told her I wasn't surprised. She offered to correct it and put another in for the current package that I also didn't get and I told her go right ahead but I'm sure it won't make a difference. I'm better off calling amazon and ulta and telling them to use UPS OR FEDEX instead. And also ask them to send a duplicate package because I know based on 20 years of mishaps w Usps it's a never ending runaround of getting resolution. read more

When this post office was further east, it was a very unpleasant place. However, since they have moved to the new location, the service has been great - postal clerks there are all going the extra mile. Anytime I've run into problems, every single clerk has gone out of their way for me. One even found boxes for me that would allow me to ship something cheaper (I only had the flat-rate boxes). And it's not just me. I have witnessed them helping customers in a variety of ways that personify professionalism and customer service. The "zip line" folks are incredibly friendly and helpful - particularly with senior citizens. The lines are long - that's the drawback - They are servicing a large area and one to two windows are often for pick-ups. Still, I so appreciate how hard the clerks work and the service they give not only to me but to others. read more

This was my first visit to this Post Office location.  The location to me is a little in the cut, as far as you wouldn't even know it was there unless you were a regular there or if you happen to be passing by the station.  Upon entering there's a self service station and P.O. Boxes to the left. There were three self-service stations once you entered which I usually prefer in post offices that I frequent, only because very rarely do I go for a complicated transaction. Either I would need a stamp or need to weigh a packaged to get postage and send it out, which can all be done at those stations.  If you work further into the station there are service windows to the back. This location has to operation hours as far as the lobby and self-service stations open at 8 am and the service windows start at 9am. Which to me I think is awesome. Not only is the open time early but considering most of the transactions I tend to do in the Post Office, I have the opportunity to be in and out by 815 if anything.  There were quite a few people waiting for the service windows to open so the machines had no real waiting time or lines so my visit was quick but very insightful. read more

The new Peter Duane Stuyvesant Reade Post Office is worse than the old one. Period. Yeah, yeah, growing pains. Growing pains my ass. There are 3 windows with 2 clerks just as slow & uninterested as always. There's a package pickup line where you get the luxury of opening an awkward heavy glass door to be able to talk to a clerk *through another heavy glass door*. If I could give this zero stars, I would. This is literally the worst post office EVER. my mailman keeps returning all my mail for NO reason. First he claimed I didn't have my name on the directory, which I have, for 7 years, then he claimed that I didn't pick up my mail for 30 days, which was a BLATANT lie. The supervisor seemed to want to help me, but I don't think she even knows what this mailman's problem is. I'm missing bills, checks, letters, and other really important mail that he sent back for no reason. And the worst part is, even though the issue has been temporarily resolved, I don't know when he will decide to mark my apartment "vacant" again for no reason. The lines at this post office are ridiculous. Everytime I'm here, I end up waiting over an hour to get my package. What's worse is that there is no way to avoid coming here, because the person who delivers my packages to my apartment building doesn't even bother to come up and knock on my door, she just brings it back to the post office and leaves those annoying pink notes behind. The employees at this location work slower than anyone I've ever seen. They take their time doing everything, so no wonder the lines to pick up packages take hours. The supervisor, Ms. Hunter, was extremely rude in my interaction with her and failed to provide me with a PO Box despite providing three forms of identification. Despite showing her that I had the required identification as outlined on the PO box application, she told me "I need to stop running my mouth." After this interaction, I walked over to the Madison Square USPS Office and was able to open a PO box with the same identification. Avoid this post office at all costs! Horrible horrible service from the mid-aged Chinese lady there last night!! Super unprofessional and rude ladies talked bad about every customer on their way out when they could still hear! e.g. " I bet she is Russian, she doesn't even know how to blah blah blah and her accent blahblahblah" when the next customer was still there!!! Unbelievable! I had a whole day's grad school classes and were going through some emotional things. So I was just not at my best moments - I made a mistake of putting my document in the wrong envelop because this is my first time going to a USPS store in America and I had a long day. The lady didn't help much, wouldn't double check anything, but when I kept making mistakes and ask her for help, she yelled at me " you are so stupid!" And also started to gossip me on my way out loudly with her coworker. I mean how can these people have jobs in 2023 with this kind of professionalism. Also this is my first time going to a USPS store in America. What's wrong with these mean people in America ?! New location w same inadequate processes in place. If you're attempting to pick up a package, plan on waiting a minimum of 7-10 minutes per person in line. A zero accountability operation. The only solution is to avoid shipping through the USPS entirely. read more

If you come when the post office is about to close they will grab a bunch of slips from people all at once.
