We recently moved to the area and this is the post office we like to go to to drop off our letters…read moreand packages. I was bummed to learn our mail doesn't come from this particular location because I need to pick up a package and they listed a different one, but I digress. Having moved from a large city, this place is positively cute. And tiny. It's also a little run down looking but that's the norm. It's located next to the Fanwood train station and is easy to miss the first time around. It's nestled further back than the neighboring building and has a tiny parking lot out front for maybe 4 cars and a little more parking in the back. We have stopped by before where there was absolutely no parking available but we usually find one eventually. Or I go with my husband and one person gets dropped off to quickly run the errand. Despite the small size, I am fond of this post office. Well, depending on who you get. There is one man who works there that is absolutely amazing. I really need to get his name but he was friendly, helpful, and efficient. Ironically, there was one visit where the lady in the "stall" next to him was pretty much the complete opposite so I can see how one's experience and impression can fluctuate vastly based on who is working at the time. Fingers crossed you get the helpful ones when you visit. Note: I heard that this place generally has more postage stamps than the Westfield post office probably due to less traffic so if you're looking for specific designs, you may have better luck here. I'm happy to have such a post office nearby! And I'm pleased to be able to leave such a positive review for a post office. The possibility never occurred to me until recently, which resulted in this review.

I've lived in watchung for about 7 years now. This post offices has become a huge part of my life…read more I started a small business when I was 16 and I would ship a packages everyday. I've never had a problem here and I've honestly never had to wait. I love the lady who is always there and every-time I walk in she calls me "sweetheart" she has watched me grow up and I'm now in college. I love living in a small town.

Terrible! I arrived with about 8 packages as soon as they opened.. all of which I was planning on…read moresending through first class w/ shipping. I have an eBay store I sell quite a bit on so I know exactly how I want to send everything, the prices, etc. The Cashier actually had the nerve to tell me not to send so many items at once, that it's inconvenient to the customers behind me. 8 items is not a lot, especially when they are small, and only need to be weighed and stickered. Not to mention, there is nothing mentioning a Maximum Parcel Limit. She was just lazy, and didn't want the 1 person behind me to wait too long. Then I told her that I'd like to ship everything through First Class with tracking.. She gets to one package that's a touch over the limit so it needed to be changed to priority (no big deal).. but then the item after it gets changed to priority, then the next, then the next.. I stopped her because the packages were very small and yet being charged as priority. She looks at her screen and realizes that she set everything to priority instead of first class -___- Now who's making the customers wait? She had to reweigh everything and resticker them. Then she couldn't remove the mistaken charges, so she had to charge my card for everything, and refund me after. Worst experience ever. I get that this is a small post office, and perhaps the cashier isn't used to seeing more than a package or 2 come in at a time, but this was ridiculous. Also, she forgot to change one of the items back to first class.. so I was charged $7.05 for priority, instead of the $3 it would've cost to send through first class. And there's nothing I can do about it now.. -__-

I was referred first to the kiosk to process my Amazon return because the registers were occupied…read more I chose to wait bc my item was bulky. The store is pretty busy, small and parking in Westfield can be a bit of a hassle but I'd return if I'm in town. The man who helped me was fine. Got the job done.

On March 4, 2026, at approx 9am, I arrived at the store to complete merchandise returns…read more According to the store's posted operating hours, the location opens at 8:00 AM. However, when I arrived, the store was closed. Another patron and I waited outside until 9:17 AM when an employee--whom I believe may be the manager and possibly the only employee regularly working at this location--arrived and opened the store. This was not an isolated incident. On numerous occasions in the past, the store has either opened late or temporarily closed during posted business hours while the employee left the premises to run personal errands. There have also been instances where I was asked to wait outside because the employee was leaving the store to obtain breakfast, during which time the store was closed to customers. When the employee arrived on March 4, I calmly expressed my frustration regarding the repeated delays and closures during the posted hours of operation. At the time, I had my two-year-old child with me. Rather than addressing the concern professionally, the employee became visibly upset and defensive and began verbally confronting me about why she was late. The employee then chose to serve the other waiting customer while refusing service to me. She subsequently locked me out of the store and waited for police to arrive. I contacted the police myself, and when they arrived they informed me that businesses may legally refuse service. However, the circumstances strongly suggest that this refusal was based on a personal grievance rather than any legitimate business or safety concern. As a result of this situation, I was forced to drive approximately three miles to another UPS Store location in order to complete my returns. While there, I was told that several residents from my neighborhood frequently travel to that location because they prefer not to deal with the employee at the Plainfield store or because the store is often closed with a sign stating that the employee will return shortly.
