I received a voice-mail message to call-back at 1-609-409-8170 and repeatedly and continuously called that number for an hour (perhaps 25-30 calls, but no one answered. Finally, I had to contact USPS HQ customer service support (in Wash., D.C. or elsewhere) in order to get help with a lost package. Monroe Township N.J. I'll give this USPS 5 Stars only when they do their job. As far as the front is concerned, yes it get's busy so I'll just go with the flow and accept it. HOWEVER, in the last 2 months I've dropped off several packages in their front lobby and THEY NEVER GET SCANNED. I track all my Pre-Paid packages religiously. You drop it in the bin and it shows movement 2-3 days later. Most recently, I dropped off a package on Wed. 2/6/19 and as of today "NOTHING". I inquired yesterday and got no response other than it's not there. On prior occasions when I inquired I was told how busy they are and a scan gets missed. All that I have read about the USPS is true. ALL THEY KNOW WHAT TO DO IS RAISE THE PRICE OF POSTAGE AND GIVE SHODDY SERVICE AS BEST...........UPS HERE I COME.......... 2 read more

PO workers are polite and should get 5 stars at the counter. Problem is waiting a half an hour every time I go into this facility. Have had delivery trouble @ 111 union valley Road. Continue to receive everyone elses mail in our communal delivery box. Why is it all envelopes with out the suite number get put into into our mailbox? Ordered a package from China. Took 10 days to go from China to New Jersey. It's taken 27+ days (still havent recieved) to get from New Jersey to California. I could walk to Jersey and pick up my package in that period of time. How do 30 day return policies work when the freaking post office cant even get it to you by then. If it were the 1800s, Monroe Township would have gotten me my package by Pony Express by now. This doesn't help the USPS in the battle against Fedex and UPS. read more

They signed a certified letter FOR ME. Why would you do that? The lines are long and if you HAVE to go, give yourself 30-45 minutes of waiting on line. If you're a senior, they will let you cut the line. read more

How are people so ignorant and make bad reviews whenever they're packages are waiting? People don't understand there's a global health crisis and don't want to wait an extra second for their petty Amazon garbage. I don't even work or know anyone that works in the mailing/postage industry. Like anyone else that gets this deep into Yelp listings like these, we are all waiting for packages. Be patient. More people then ever are ordering things online. Please don't release your petty range onto these workers. They're doing the best they can. read more

An item I had ordered arrived at the Monroe post office shortly after 7:00 PM last night. Shortly after 3:00 AM it was sent from Monroe to Edison, where it arrived approximately an hour later. I would give negative stars if possible. We have been waiting for a package that was routed to the Monroe Township distribution center in New Jersey on 6/16/2020. It is now 6/24/2020 and the routing status shows that the package is still at that facility. We tried to call to find out what the delay is, but nobody answers the phone. Instead of an answering service, we get an automated message saying, "The caller is not answering. Your call will now be disconnected." From the other reviews posted, it appears that this distribution center has a reputation of being a black hole for the USPS. Our concern now is that the package is lost forever at their facility and we are out the money we spent on the merchandise that we ordered. Unfortunately, we had no control over how the package would be routed when it shipped. All we can do now is hope that the USPS will be able to locate the package and get it moving again, or reimburse us the cost of the merchandise contained in it. Saying we are very frustrated is a gross understatement. read more

This has to be one of the worst post offices in the State of NJ. This is not a review of someone whose just moved into the town and showing frustration because of the recent move. I've been a Monroe Twp resident for 3+ years now and this post office still continues to surprise me with number of issues from delivering my express mail/package to someone else in town or mark the packages as "delivered" while they're actually "missing" for days. They've long walk in hours at the location while the customer service almost non-existent and staff is extremely rude to the customers. They've 3 customer service windows at the post office but typically there's only one person behind the counter and line goes out the door regardless of what time you walk in. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place all together. If you need to ship priority mails/packages then use the machine at the entrance of the post office. You can also purchase stamps and labels from the machine. It's worth the extra 20 min drive to neighbor town to avoid the aggravation!! read more

They don't know what they have or don't have. "Yes!" Instead of "May I help you?" "That's it" instead of "I'm sorry we don't have". "I can't find stuff!!" "Well don't take my stuff". My issue, and that of my neighbors, is that mail is occasionally not delivered even though there are letters and packages scheduled to arrive that day. We subscribe to Informed Delivery, which sends an email message each morning with scanned images of that day's letters. On. occasion, we receive nothing despite being informed of an impending delivery. And, occasionally, mail is placed into the wrong mailbox. I don't know where the issue lies but the carrier may be responsible. We've complained to the postmaster but nothing seems to change. We've also been getting mail delivery later and later in the day, sometimes after 5:00pm. Very frustrating. read more

This location is the worst! 10 people in line and one worker is filling the flat rate boxes in slow motion instead of opening another window. Right now both of the employees working the window have disappeared in the back. I guess to look for something that obviously was misplaced. What a joke. Postmaster needs to do something but doubtful that will ever happen. Every time I come here it is the same situation. So while I continue to wait in line I will keep adding to this bad review. Government workers at their worst. They really couldn't be any slower or more inefficient. Surprised they can even find the way to work. Now the line is actually going out the door! They don't seem the least bit concerned. No lie the one window worker spent over 15 minutes in the back looking for a customers package from QVC. Never found it. I went to pick up a package. I wait 30 mins in line and finally go up to someone at the register, and before I could say "hi I'm here to pick up a pa--" the older woman with short blonde hair interrupts me with "wahhhhh" and explains she hates going to the back to look for packages.. she then asks for my ID, I give it to her, and she examines it for 10 minutes and asks me questions like it's a fake ID.. there's still a long line behind me. This post office is absolutely the worst, WORST post office around. I have lived all over the state of New Jersey, and never before has a postal worker treated me the way the people at this location do. Cesar hung up on me after cutting me off at every sentence with "MA'AM I CAN'T HELP YOU." He wouldn't even let me finish my sentence! They constantly lose mail and I receive things weeks, LITERALLY WEEKS after they are supposed to come. My S.O. had a Medicaid form that was postmarked 11/5 -- we received it on 12/14. WAY past the due date and now he has to re-apply for insurance. Anytime I call and try to speak with the Postmaster he is allegedly unavailable, yet if you call at night they just tell you to call at 8am to speak with him. It's unbelievable. Oh.. also, Rhonda, another lovely postal worker, told me that I was socially awkward after I called to clarify a miscommunication. Never ever EVER should my personal character be scrutinized by a postal worker. If it's not mail, they have no business talking to me about it. I truly cannot get over the level of un-professionalism. It's just sad because literally no one cares and nothing will ever improve here. read more
