My favorite time in recent years is when I was told I could not pick up cancer medications for my dying mother because I wasn't her. Even after presenting power of attorney and a signed and certified letter from her, they said my mother had to come in and get the medications herself. She could no longer walk or travel, so we never got them. Just this past week I was told that no packages could be sent to countries where the addresses are not in English. So, if you do business with any but a fraction of nations, you are out of luck. I've also been told that boxes from other companies (UPS, Amazon, etc.) cannot be reused if their logo shows. And taping over them doesn't count. So plain, unmarked boxes only! On the upside, this is a great place to go if you want to be sneered at by the employees for walking through the door. My advice- go to the Mount Holly post office up the road. They don't seem angry to handle mail and aren't invested in killing your parents.

The lobby area has plenty of room to get your packages shipped, collect your mail and get what you need done. There are usually two employees working to cut the line when it gets bustling in here. Here, "going postal," is still a good thing. So, I was there after an appointment on the nearly deserted Island Beach, and needing to get something mailed immediately with today's postmark. I couldn't just put the letter through the slot and hope for the best. I requested that the stamped envelop be posted with the current date in bold ink. No problem. The acting postmaster himself took the letter and with precision and fury, dropped the handheld stamp canceller down on the upper right corner of the envelop. Wham! With printing as clear as a bell and black ink, the mission was accomplished. No fuss. No muss.

He was totally rude did not want to help me told me to go home and get on my computer and look it up. I've never seen him at this post office. I think he's filling in but maybe he works at the Lakehurst post office. Actually he shouldn't even be working at all. He doesn't know how to deal with the public and is rude. On his phone chatting laughing at me making a fool out of me. Then a lovely lady called Gloria helped me out ( hope I got her name right) she was a breath of fresh air. Help me out in every way possible did everything for me with no problem. She has helped me in the past at the Lakehurst post office.
