Went here on Wednesday July 23rd 2025 with my dad to validate our change of address forms that we submitted online. It prompts you and tells you if one needs to go to the post office to confirm your identity. Got there, parked, had to wait in line for a bit. Went up to the desk and showed the printed paper with the validation on it for the address change. We showed both our ids and then the change of address was complete. Great experience for me. I worked with the young man whose name began with a "C". He was super friendly and willing to help me figure out my shipment abroad. He was patient as well as I have never shipped to Africa and helped me. This was a good location for me. It was around 10:30am there was no wait or long line. Was waiting for a package, but they didn't deliver it because "Delivery Attempted - No Access to Delivery Location" - yet they deliver mail here every day. Also we were home the time they "couldn't deliver". Lazy workers. read more

The final straw they quote delivered a package that I've been waiting on all day. The door is open and I've been in the livingroom with all the windows open. No one has been here and no mail is here. I have high doubts I will ever see my package and I'm beyond livid. Worst place ever... also can't reach anyone to get them to speak to me about it. They opened my package that I sent to my mother for Mother's Day. Which had priority mailing on it. The card somehow got forwarded on then after I made a stink about it just sitting in the Post Office and they needed to figure out where it was. Miraculously an empty box was sent to my mother (sans anything that I sent her). I'm beyond unimpressed with this Postal Office before this happened, but this was beyond par on horrible service and a felony to tamper with mail. I refuse to mail anything from here ever again. I've already been told by neighbors this is the worst postal office around here I'm better off driving to another city to mail anything. That is downright pathetic and annoying. Also the service is crap, I know this is not a great time but that doesn't mean you should treat your customers terribly when they walk in. read more

I hate this post office. I ordered a part for my car USPS said it was delivered to my mailbox via their tracking number. Guess what NO PACKAGE. I continue to get other people mail happens all the time. I have complained to Postmaster Mike 845 783 7827 and nothing is done. I complained to that idiot Sean Maloney's office nothing improved. Thank god that idiot got voted out of office. If you can't get the right mail in the right mailbox how can you fix Washington. I hate the Monroe Post Office they suck. This is a GREAT Post Office! I know people are annoyed because they offer passport service. People want more clerks on duty, but typically people want services and they don't want to pay for them. The postal clerks themselves are very agreeable, knowledgeable, and efficient. I remember being annoyed during the holidays when one of the clerks was holding up the line by double-checking the addresses on packages to see that the address actually existed and that the Zip Code was correct. Then when it was my turn, discovered that MY Zip Code was wrong! OMG! How great of him to do that! We tend to take these public servants for granted as they do their tedious, repetitive, very stressful job calmly and professionally. I really don't need chatty friendliness from my postal clerk as it holds up the line. What I want is professionalism, and that's what we get in Monroe. If you don't think so, compare Monroe postal workers to those in China or France (for rudeness) or eastern Europe and other places where nothing gets done without a bribe. Of course we want more clerks on duty. Typically, we want everything NOW NOW NOW! But that is hardly the fault of the postal worker at the counter. The facility is clean and efficient, and the workers themselves are professional and friendly in a professional way. God bless our government worker. Private sector airlines should run as well as our Post Office in Monroe! One more thing: Not every Post Office is open 7 days a week. The Monroe office is. What's not to like??!! read more

I love the Customer service but they are terrible. I had a package that was supposed to be delivered on Thursday on the 12 for Friday the 13 and it wasn't there. They said that it was taken to the wrong route and then Saturday we came in the get the package and they said the delivered the package to a different route and said they will go check if one of the mailboxes has the package. Today we went and they say that couldn't find the package. We were piss off when we got to the car. This place sucks. read more

Monroe Post Office has got to be the worst post office in New York. All the previous customer complaints speak for themselves. Other customer's mail is frequently placed in my PO box because apparently the workers have a difficult time making out the numbers on the mail - ridiculous. My wife ordered a small first class package and the tracking number showed delivered and available at the post office on February 3rd but the clerk and the new supervisor could not find it - another package lost at this post office. They refuse to accept responsibility for the lost package, tell me to file a claim but unfortunately, you can't file a claim for first class mail without insurance. They know this but still tell their customers to file a claim. I walked in today to pick up another package that was delivered and Michael retrieved a "bonus package" as he called it along with the expected package. Lo and behold the so called "bonus package" turned out to be the missing first class package from the Feb. 3rd but he handed the package to me nonchalantly, stating only that it had been sitting there for a while. What BS. After 22 days these incompetent fools finally found the missing package. If you order something make sure the seller ships it priority otherwise this post office will tell you they are not responsible for the package unless you have insurance. read more

Sweet little USPS off of 17 and 17M. Always has more than one helpful associate available. They ship my things cross country at reasonable prices helping me spread joy to the ones I love and miss. The Post Office is a valuable asset to the community. This lot has plenty of parking so that you can get in and out and on to the rest of your day. A bit of advice for the local post offices would be to consider automated machines. Why are they all on the west coast? Is that truly the best coast? ;) while were at it how about a drive through stamp machine so that I can buy stamps, drive up to the drop box, put stamps on (just a couple, don't want to be a jerkovich) and mail my junk and be done. This is the worst post office. Multiple packages get dropped off to multiple different people at my house but they never leave my packages. It's very frustrating I go to pick up my package they can't find it it's just always a problem with this post office it's very disappointing and something needs to happen. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. The line is always long, they lost 3 packages within a year, the carrier regularly drops the wrong mail in our box, has left our packages at our neighbors, has left packages in the driveway in the rain, is afraid to pull up to the mailbox if there is any snow anywhere near it, and now, instead of driving down the driveway to get my signature on a certified letter I have been waiting 4 day days for, she just threw a "sorry we missed you while you were out" note in the mailbox. I have been here all day. This location needs to be completely reorganized with competent people. read more

Monroe NY Post Office Open 7 days a week. And the lobby opens 24 hours every day. That is really helpful!!! Staff working there are very friendly. Also, they have mailboxes that they put small packages in and leave the key in my PO box. I can go there any time to pick up my packages. Overall, they have done an above and beyond job! read more

I scheduled an appointment for my passport a week ago, received confirmation, had everything completed and ready for my scheduled appointment. The day before, I get a phone call apologizing but they would have to cancel my appointment. Seems the only person who does the certified passport services is going to be out that day, Sunday, which is why I scheduled in Monroe (I live in the area and have a full time job). They have Sunday hours. Turns out this person has called out every Sunday for the past 3 weeks! If I did that in my job, I would be fired. Go to Chester for this process if you need a weekend appointment. read more

The man i spoke to during holiday season i said i have a cd in the manila envelope. i said i packed it with cloth so it wont break as i had no padded envelope. He said ok ok in a broken english accent. said the package would get to upstate ny by dec 22. it came back to me open and ripped and on the front said not media. i went back to the po to complain i whipped out the cd in front of the post office clerk and said see this its a cd is a cd media they said yes. I said why it came back to me they said because it was wrapped with a cloth, cloth isnt media. go figure i did it i told the asian man before he stamped it it was wrapped. so they never gave me credit to send it other then media. cripes. then we get mail late 530 at night. then we get mail that isnt ours im beginning to think the drivers cant read our address is on the door BIG numbers and on the mail box. it infuriates me when they cant deliver the right mail i am missing a check for the longest time and other packages. why we cant get our mail in the morning. they all need to sort it night before ad get out the trucks in the morning. cripes. the line is always long to wait always!! Every time I have been to this location, (whether its morning or afternoon) there is a line to the door. This location should be in Los Angeles, with this sort of line. Last month a sent two letters to California, the one had two day delivery to the court. The gentleman that marked my two letters put the two day delivery, on the wrong letter. I have my proof through my receipt. Now for his error, I owe the court a bail out fee, of over $1,000.00. If that's not bad enough, I called there today. I spoke with Lisa, that said his error was my fault. She has no customer service skills. Then I wanted to know when I could reach the Post Master, but all I got was he will be in tomorrow. I don't know why it is a secret, for the time he works. I went to a different location that told me for their mistake, they should write a letter to the court for me. I told Lisa this, and she said we don't write letters. I am very disappointed with how this matter is being handled. At least have some sympathy Lisa, or an apology! read more

Where to start? Getting our mail at 7:30 on most nights is a good start. It will be pitch black outside and here comes the mail truck just breezing through. Let's hope they put the right mail in the mailbox because they are rather infamous for giving me my neighbors mail. It's a good thing that I like our neighbor so I hand deliver it to him. I work all day and have to pick up the slack that the postal drivers have neglected to do. So, we know they are really bad on delivery. Go to the post office itself and the line is usually ten deep and, of course, usually one person working while there mass of other workers are walking around aimlessly. Go to the Harriman post office. At least you know you'll get good service, hardly any lines and no headaches!! read more

I put my credit card and mortgage payment in the mail at this post office on the first of the month and both were promptly LOST. Companies never received it. I was assessed fees and lost an interest free credit card promotion. I trusted it would arrive and focused my attention on my health which was a primary concern at the time. I am disgusted with the US post office system. DISGUSTED. read more

The worse experience. I tired to call and speak to someone regarding a problem, there is no local number and could not speak to a person. All you get is an automated system that is useless. So in order to resolve my issue I have to go to the PO. This is absolutely insane and they need to provide service. read more

The saying "Good enough for government work" is an understatement for the Monroe, NY Post Office. Our mailbox got ripped out of the ground recently. It wasn't hit as there is no damage to the mailbox itself, it was simply pulled completely out of the ground and thrown across our driveway. My husband and I believe it was our mail carrier who did this but we have no proof of this so we will not file any formal complaint BUT this is not the reason for writing this review. We have not been able to fix our mailbox because it is the dead of winter and the ground is frozen solid and the day after the mailbox was ripped out we got a lot of sleet and snow. So, we had the Monroe PO hold our mail. Or, at least they were supposed to hold our mail. Most of the time I went in to pick it up no one knew where our mail was. I was waiting for some very important pieces of mail and no one knew where it was or what had arrived, nor when I could pick it up. I was told to call between 8:30am-9am, this is a very difficult time for me to call as I have 3 kids to get ff to school at this time but I did take the time to call at the these times. No one answered the phone. I tried 4 times and no one ever picked up the phone. I got a few pieces of my mail here and there at the PO but was never confident that we received everything we were supposed to. To top it off everyone there made it very clear they did not care one bit about this issue and seemed annoyed that I was making them actually do their job. If a private company or organization conducted themselves and their business in the same way this PO does, they would have been out of business long ago. But, regardless of how pitiful their performance is, we must continue to fork over OUR tax dollars to keep places like this open. Unbelievable. read more
